If you're looking for a beautiful LA oasis in the middle of the city with a private pool/hot tub and total resort vibe, then 'Casa de Cleon' is the place for you.
This 2 bdrm/2 bath California ranch-style home is truly unique and a great LA home away from home. The 2,100 sq ft. home was built in 1937, and has an inviting art nouveau feel to it. My husband and I have completely renovated it to transform it into a sanctuary in the middle of the city and have added lots of modern amenities while still retaining itâs charm and style.
The warm interior offers Brazilian pecan hardwood floors throughout, a spacious formal dining room, an elegant music/parlor/library room complete with a baby grand piano (and lots of books!), a full galley-style kitchen with quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances with an open floor plan that steps down into a cozy sunken living room. The living room has a comfortable sectional that also makes into a queen bed with a brand new memory foam mattress that can also sleep 2. This room is perfect for lounging in and watching movies on the big screen tv with full surround sound!
The front bedroom is drenched in natural light (thanks to a big bay window) and has a brand new queen-size bed with velvet headboard. The front bathroom has a full shower/bath and all the amazing original tile from the era in tact. The tranquil master bedroom offers a California King bed, a spacious walk-in closet and an ensuite with an amazing steam shower, oversized bath tub, enclosed toilet and double sink marble vanity. French sliding doors open from the master and music room onto the large Tiger wood deck with jacuzzi tub. A perfect spot for morning yoga or birdwatching and a cup of coffee. French sliders also open from the living room out onto the giant backyard.
This home sits on a 16,000 square ft double lot so there is plenty of space to stretch out. One of the best features is the large backyard area which has a newly built outdoor kitchen, dining area, outdoor shower/bathroom and lounging area and the enormous Van-Halen approved pool (this house has amazing history!). Living in Southern California, we subscribe to âalfresco livingâ and enjoy this backyard space a lot!
Please note: We also have an additional guest unit on the other side of the main house that family and friends may stay in from time to time. We will always let you know in advance if that's the case, but the backyard area is a common space and shared between the main house and the guest house. We are really looking to share our property with guests who are easy-going, positive, responsible folks who play well with others and will take care of our property as their own and enjoy it. This really is a âhome away from homeâ kind of place and a nature sanctuary.

Vous ĂȘtes reçu par Jen and Steve

Growing up on a ranch in Montana, Jen cultivated a special affinity for hard work, animals and the great outdoors. She's also had lots of fun and interesting adventures in the entertainment world as a stage performer, voice-over artist, arts educator, writer and film producer. Steve (who originally hails from sunny Scotland) and Jen met in the Slovak Republic while Jen was on a Fulbright teaching assignment in 2010. They proceeded to take a whole year to fall in love and explore the world together. Travel is their passion (along with raising their beautiful daughter, Lily, their Jack Russell Terrier, Lucy, and enjoying lots of dark chocolate, golf, and tennis!). They have been hosts for multiple properties and enjoy sharing them and hosting folks from all over the world. They are delighted to be both guests and hosts on VRBO.
Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
While we have owned several vacation rentals in the past including in Montana, this is the first time we'll be sharing our property in sunny Los Angeles! We've taken this 1937 old California ranch style home on a huge lot in the middle of the city and transformed it into an oasis. A sanctuary and retreat away from the madness when you want it, but centrally located when you're ready for the city. We wanted to create our own tranquil resort in the middle of the madness to escape to everyday and that's exactly what we've done. The area is diverse and centrally located to so many things. We can be to places like the Burbank Airport or Griffith Park in an easy 10 minutes or Universal Studios in 5 and there are tons of great restaurants and shops nearby. And, while the westside is nice, we've found it to be too congested and a pain to park. Our area is much more relaxed and you will ALWAYS find parking (with no restrictions). Whew. We love it and hope you will too.

We subscribe to 'al fresco' living and are in the backyard a lot so we designed the space with huge French sliding doors in the living room, the music room and master bedroom all leading to the backyard space.
The large curved wooden deck houses a nice hot tub and steps down onto the patio with a giant pool with a diving board. According to house history, apparently the entire band Van Halen has swam in our pool! How's that for Hollywood history? LOL
Some other unique benefits are the water features to create that serene setting and a steam shower in the master bathroom to really make you feel like you're in your own spa.
