Un accĂšs facile Ă tout le Cap a Ă offrir, Ă quelques minutes de deux terrains de golf 18 trous, des restaurants, des magasins et des antiquaires. Un lieu de vacances parfait au Cap.
Great beach house nestled in the dunes on Cape Cod Bay. Super sunsets from the upper deck where we all gathered for evening meals and barbeques. Adjacent to Scorton Creek so the kids could ride the tides in and out of the creek. Beach is a little rocky especially along waters edge so best have water shoes.
The pictures donât do the cottage justice. It was a slice of heaven on the East Sandwich beach. Very roomy and very well equipped. My 16 month old granddaughter had a blast on the sandbar at low tides. The view was outstanding and the upper deck was nice and roomy and a great place to eat, read, or just relax. We had a couple of hot days, but there were plenty of fans and a nice ocean breeze. Jay was quick to respond to any questions we had and we are already looking forward to next year!
This beautiful property has a wonderful location and enjoyed listening and watching the roaring Atlantic Ocean! Beautiful sand dunes and charming location--just perfect!
We totally enjoyed our stay in this charming beach cottage. Cool experience being in the dunes. Loved the upstairs deckâŠ.peaceful place to enjoy the morning.
Location was great..pretty close to highway. We explored Cape Cod easily.
We had a great time at the dune house. Before we arrived I had a slight concern about the size of the house but 6 adults 2 kids and a large dog were very comfortable. The view on the deck upstairs is simply amazing and nightly fires on the beach unforgettable.
Everyone around was so friendly and loved dogs which just added to the charm. Thank you for letting us use you home!!
We had a wonderful time on the Cape!!! We were 6 adults and 2 children, ages 6 and 8. There is no shortage of things to do and being right on the beach has its own special charm. That said, the house had its issues. I always like to check in with the landlord after a day of "getting to know" the home, regarding issues that I don't want to be held responsible for....There were several but overall, the biggest issue was the cleanliness of the place. I reported to the owner that whoever does the cleaning should be held accountable for their shoddy work...we pay a lot in cleaning fees and it's was a huge disappointment that we spent several hours cleaning to make it acceptable....The owner got right back to me and was quite apologetic...he immediately had a new toaster delivered and told me he would refund the cleaning fee....On our last day , while we were packing up, the owner came to visit and talk with me...He had driven several hours to replace a few broken chairs and to meet with the cleaners....I was quite touched with his willingness to make things right with his home and his effort to reach out to me and my family. I cannot say enough nice things about Jay....I just hope he isn't being taken advantage of by people who are supposed to be working for him. With all of that, I would def consider going back....it's a wonderful beach vibe in an area with so many fun things to do as well as great restaurants, convenient shopping and beautiful sunsets!!!
The quintessential beach house, comfy, inviting, and well loved. Coffee in the morning and sunset dinners on the upper deck were phenomenal! Set in a sand dune, you knew you were at a beach house, so be prepared to live with sand everywhere. Was thoroughly enjoyed by humans and doggos.
Great stay in Cape Cod! House was great for our 4 adults and 3 kids. You cannot get closer to the beach, that is for sure! It took some deep breathing and letting go of clean expectations to live with the constant sand, but that's the beach, right?!
The owner was wonderful to work with. Responded quickly to my questions during the booking process. Than you, Jay for sharing your home!
Great location right on the ocean. Please note if you have anyone in your party with mobility issues, getting to ocean may be a challenge as you have to walk over a small dune and the view is from the magnificent upstairs balcony.
Great sunset views every night! Watched 4 seals by the marsh outlet. Saw striped bass in the water. Lots of crabs too.
Although on a beautiful beach with pretty views from the upper deck, the accommodations are poor for the price. Very poorly kept with lamps that don't work, bathroom windows without shades , screened porch with torn screens not to mentioned dunes so high all you see is mounds of sands from the entire First floor of living space. Feels like a dungeon! If you want to have a barbecue, get ready to climb the top of the dunes where the rusted out charcole grill resides. Then climb back down the dune, walk back into the house, go upstairs through the bedrooms to bring your dinner on the deck where the picnic table is. Save your money!
After a 15 hr drive home, I am ready to turn around and head back to the Cape.
That view.... I spent most of the days watching the ocean, & nights stargazing. Exactly what I needed. Our family (50s, 70s, & 83yrs young) had an amazing time together. Thank you.
Pros: Beautiful ocean view, first floor is easily navigated for those with mobility issues, plenty of games & puzzles if have rainy days like we did, a laid back community with city amenities in near-by Hyannis, & a house that feels like a home. I can't recommend a cup of coffee while sitting on the deck & taking it all in enough!
Recommendations: If going to cook, bring a knife. The ones available were dull. We, also, brought a crockpot. A hot bowl of chili on a rainy, cold day was heavenly. Otherwise, the kitchen is well-stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc.
There is a small convenient/grocery store close-by. It has a limited grocery & wine inventory. No fuel pumps. There are 2 liquor stores close. One is about 2 miles east on 6A, however, we found the one in Sandwich had a better selection & prices. Hyannis is only about 20 minutes away & had a Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, & Shaw's (Excellent steak & fish selection reasonably priced.).
We had 10 people in this house and there was room for everyone - with the exception of the galley kitchen. That was a tight squeeze but we took turns cooking so it worked out well. The dining room table did seat 10 but that left a few people on the inside of the picnic style bench so they couldn't get out easily. Two of the beds upstairs weren't as comfortable as others. (one with a headboard not attached to the wall so it rattled when people turned over)
There were so many amenities - we packed too much! Plenty of beach chairs for everyone, tons of sand toys for kids. Lots of books and board games, fully stocked kitchen with two coffee pots, a blender and all silverware, dishes and utensils we could think of.
Jay was terrific, responding quickly to questions.
The only issue we had was no fault of Jay's - the dunes had piled up so it was a little incline to walk up and out to the beach. The grandmother of the group needed assistance.
Fabulous views from the deck upstairs and the kids really enjoyed the sandbars at low tide.
Terrific house - thanks, Jay!
This property is not expensive for beachfront, but the downside is that it needs a deep cleaning and some maintenance. The everyday issues are all taken care of-bathrooms and kitchen are clean, etc., but you can smell definitely smell pets, and there is a lot of sand and pet hair. There was a bucket catching a slow leak in one of the bathrooms.
That said, this property provides a fascinating perspective on the beach. It is sited IN the dunes, so that from the lower level you are surrounded by dunes on three sides. You canât really see the ocean from the lower level, but it feels like being in a hobbit house. We loved the experience.
The location is also interesting because you are facing the ocean, but a short walk along the beach also takes you to a gorgeous salt marsh.
We were there in October, and we had campfires on the beach at sunrise and sunset, as well as a glorious dinner on the second story deck one evening.
There are a lot of bedrooms for the space, so a lot of us were able to work remotely during parts of our stay.
Overall, I will never forget spending a week with family in the dunes at Cape Cod.
7 adult family members stayed at this lovely, comfy home for 7 nights. The house technically sleeps 10, but we all agreed that 10 would have felt really tight!
We absolutely loved the beach, especially the sand bars at low tide and the nearby channel for floating. The 2nd floor deck was perfect for dinners and sunset viewing. We had a beach fire one night and saw fireworks at a neighboring property, which was a fun surprise!
The first 4 days were super hot, so fortunately there were plenty of fans available, in addition to the ones we brought from home.
Parking is tight, but we made do with parking spaces that were available on the street.
We had trouble with the refrigerator on the first day, but Jay got right after it and resolved the issue quickly.
All in all, we loved this quintessential Cape Cod beach home and would definitely return!
You couldn't ask for better beach access and even on the hottest sunniest week-end of the summer the beach was basically private. The house is definitely "shabby chic" but has the important basics: comfortable high-quality beds, great hot showers (including outdoors), a well stocked kitchen and a gorgeous deck. There are 5 true bedrooms so no one sleeping on a pull-out! And our well-behaved dogs had a great week too! Jay is a super responsive host.
A true beach house with good bones.
Having a working fireplace in the house and the capability for nightly beach fires is a real treat. Parking can be a challenge. But once you're there you don't want to
leave.
This beach gem is hidden in the sand dunes. The deck across the second floor became our living and dining space. Each of the three couples had their own private access to the deck and their own private bath. The outside shower was primary for bathing. The house is beside the public beach trail but the house had its own beach path from the back door. The solar lights lit our way at night. Parking behind the house is limited to three cars. The extra small refrigerator was greatly appreciated.
We had a great family vacation at this house, right on the beach with amazing panorama of Cape Cod Bay from the expansive upper deck.
We were longing for some quiet time with our adult children, a chance to reunite and enjoy each other again in these crazy days. We felt quite safe on this beach, which is essentially private. We did have one issue with a malfunctioning refrigerator, and Jay the owner brought over a mini- fridge to tide us over until appliance repair could be facilitated. It was one example of this ownerâs outstanding responsiveness. Thank you, Jay!
Jay was helpful in this crazy COVID time. We were so pleased with the cottage and the pictures did not do it justice. We had our beach shoes so the pebbles on the beach did not worry us at all. The smooth sandbars were such fun we took our chairs out and made our sandcastles. Chairs were provided so we didnât have to Bring them from home. Thanks for a great week!
This house is perfection. We had a fairly large group and although the house is small there was plenty of room. The house is right on the beach! That is what you are paying for. The beds were very comfortable and the house was fully stocked. I cannot wait to return to this house we had the best time and we love Sandwich! Jay the owner was so helpful and quick to respond.
Its the second time we rented this lovely home and still don't want to leave it! This house is so Cape Cod, comfortable and easy access for seniors. No stairs to the beach, you are on it! Everything you need is here, well furnished kitchen, great fireplace and yes fall asleep with the ocean dancing at your window. Lovely, can't wait to go back next year and next year and the next...
