Please feel free to contact us to discuss any non-standard reservation requests. Wildwood Cottage is a pet-free and smoking-free property.
Great communication from the owner throughout, lovely location, quiet neighborhood. Two bedrooms, one bathroom was enough for our needs. House was in excellent shape, highly recommend!
The house is very charming and clean. Matt was communicative and helpful. The house is away from downtown which I actually found to be nice. Very quiet and there are some carriage trails and bike rental down the street. Easy drive into Bar Harbor so donât worry about the distance. Overall a great stay.
Perfect Location for Visiting Acadia National Park
Our family of four enjoyed a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in Seal Harbor. The location of the house is ideal for driving and biking into Acadia NP to enjoy all the park has to offer, as well as Bar Harbor which is a short 15 minute drive. Itâs located in the quaint town of Seal Harbor, which is wonderful on itâs own with a nice beach, restaurant, coffee & ice cream shop and bike rentals. The home is even nicer than the photos indicate. The house was immaculately clean with all the amenities you could possibly need, and the beds are both extremely comfortable. The single bathroom upstairs was a bit of a challenge with two teenage boys, but we made it work. The host Matt was extremely responsive and helpful when I messaged him with a couple questions. We had one entire day of rain during our stay when we enjoyed all the comforts of the home including the strong wifi and 2 large smart tvs with Roku. We discovered our new favorite way to eat lobsters, precooked from the Hannafords in Bar Harbor;) We would definitely recommend this house to others and we look forward to returning for our next visit to Maine.
This was our second summer at the property (2 adults + 1 teenager). Great locationâyou can be parked at Jordan Pond and out walking within 5 minutes of leaving the house; a nice early walk/hike to start the day.
The house is spotlessly clean and well stocked. Particularly nice for a NE vacation rental: sheets, towels, beach towels are all provided (and there is a washer+dryer if you need it).
Recommendation: book the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Garden in advance if you are interested, it is a special place and just a couple minutes away from the property.
Recommendation: Ambergris Voyages (captained by Patrick, out of Southwest Harbor) is an ideal way to sail aboard a schooner without the crowds of some of the Bar Harbor boatsâ6 passengers max so you can really move around the boat, which is beautiful.
My husband and I stayed here the first week of October. It was perfect for us. There is a path down the street that will take you right to one of the carriage roads that lead to Jordon Pond, no driving required! Of course it was an easy drive to Bar Harbor and the Quiet side. The house was immaculate. We ate in most evenings, and the kitchen had all the supplies we needed - pots, pans, utensils, dishes, Rubbermaid containers, etc. Matt left detailed instructions, including wifi info, what to do on departure day, contact info how to use the tv's and so on. The neighborhood was quiet. We slept upstairs in the king size bed. It was quite comfortable. The bathroom was large and the plumbing worked well. The extensive library was a joy to browse through, and if the weather had been bad (it wasn't!) we'd have had plenty to read. Having just the one bathroom upstairs was no problem for us. I could see that if you were with other people it might be a little weird. The house is terrific and perfectly located, though! Would definitely stay there again.
Spotlessly clean house with large, bright common rooms. Nice layout for a small family or two couples. Great library. Kitchen and bathroom well stocked and nice setup with the available washer & dryer.
Easy walk in to Seal Harbor for coffee or slightly further right to Seal Harbor beach. The Jordan Pond park entrance is actually walkable too if you donât feel like dealing with parking there. Nice quiet neighborhood just off of route 3 feels secluded and private.
