Great location, responsive and helpful host. Very enjoyable stay.

The unit we stayed in (3) was great. It is located in the heart of Bar Harbor making all of the town center easily walkable. The location also has private parking which is great. The unit is comfortable and had everything we needed. The host is really nice, accessible and helpful.

Best location

Very nice house. Needs railings up entire length of stairs, especially for older renters. We did have problems with that.

Nice Cottage Right Downtown.

We rented the Village Green Hideaway for two weeks in early September 2024. The location is great with one drawback. The parking entrance's to the cottage is shared with the waiting area and seating station for the popular Cafe This Way. This makes coming and going via a vehicle up until 1:00 pm challenging because of the number of people milling about and requires prior planning to be sure your vehicle is facing the right direction if you plan to go to Acadia early in the day. The cottage was very clean. The host Ann was above and beyond responsive to a plumbing issue cause by a previous guest. She went out of her away to get it fixed. Our only really complaint is the furniture in the living room and the beds need to refreshed/replaced. Both queen size beds are very squeaky and loud with even the slightest movement. One guest found the bed comfortable and the thought it was too firm. The futon in the living room is very uncomfortable for watching movies and napping. The shower is by far the nicest we have used in Bar Harbor. The washer and dryer work great. Do recommend just understand what you are getting. Good value for the price.

Bar Harbor Cottage

This house is amazing and then some. It is located downtown which is a real blessing.Parking in Bar Harbor is impossible. Right across the street is a breakfast and lunch cafe. Ann’s home is warm and inviting and has everything you could want and it is spotlessly clean. Thank you for sharing Ann.

Place near Acadia and Bar Harbor

It was very easy to find the place and the arrival was clear and simple. Mrs Ann was very present if we needed something. The place is in the city but is very quiet and calm. Thank you very much for this stay!

Great hideaway!

The hideaway is just that, a hidden gem in the best location. Ann is a wonderful host, with clear directions and a welcome basket full of yummy goodies. The house is spacious and clean, with a delightful courtyard to sit outside and rest even while close to downtown. We were close enough to hear the live music downtown but not go anywhere if we wanted. Easy walk to the shuttles and downtown harbor. Ann is delightful and joy-filled, and is a treasure as much as the space is!

Great Location

This property had plenty of room and a wonderful location. We were able to catch the buses right across the street, walk to the tour boats and walk to great restaurants. There was a problem with the shower but the owner got plumbers in and solved the issue.

Great location!

Our week in Bar Harbor was perfect thanks to this excellent location. House size is tucked away right off the main drag and not noisy at all. We could walk to almost everything which is a HUGE bonus since parking can be a challenge. Beds were mostly comfortable and we had everything we needed. The host was great with communication and left us a lovely welcome gift. Would definitely stay here again.

Another great week in Bar Harbor and ANP and this property met our needs. The location was perfect for pre-hiking breakfast and for catching the shuttle bus. The location was also perfect for post hiking happy hours, dinner and shopping. It had everything we needed and it was comfortable and clean.

PERFECT Bar Harbor Hideaway

We had the best time at this hideaway downtown - everything was so close, but once in the house it was peaceful and felt secluded. Beds were comfortable, we LOVED the step-in shower, and the washer and dryer were really convenient. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. We loved it and would 100% stay here again!

Wonderful stay

We enjoyed our visit very much. Central location walkable to all of the main spots in Bar Harbor. Parking was easy and the Cafe next door was not bothersome. You can get breakfast right across your parking lot if you want. You can catch the shuttle easily to Acadia on a 2 minute walk from this place. Acadia and most other things are working a 15 minute drive. Our host was wonderful and there were delicious treats and a bottle of wine when we arrived. All together excellent experience.

Centrally located

We had a wonderful stay. The property is steps away from downtown Bar Harbor. Visited all the shops downtown while taking nightly walks after dinner. Most shops are open until at least 9 pm. Got popovers and blueberry crisp from The Stadium, and enjoyed a few nightly concerts on the green along with some nightly ice creams and walks on the shore path. Property is less than a 10 minute drive from nice walks at Compass Harbor, Schooner Head, or the Great Head above sand beach. Everything is so close. Property was very clean and had all the amenities needed. The Cafe next door had a sign out notifying the patrons to allow us to drive in and out in the mornings, which was never an issue. Woke up early a few mornings with the delivery trucks at the cafe and the early morning patrons along with some singing birds. If the windows were closed, we were able to sleep in. My son enthusiastically recommends the poutine at Blaze. Thanks for a wonderful week full of memories.

The Hideaway was wonderful! The house was immaculate and in the center of town, yet quiet and peaceful, the kitchen was equipped with everything you would ever need including sharp knives! We had a wonderful week!

Wonderful stay at The Hideaway!

The Hideaway was the perfect Bar Harbor stay. Walkable to the entire downtown area, yet private. The home is bright, beautiful and has the best equipped kitchen of any VRBO I have stayed in. Ann is a wonderful host- responsive and thoughtful- including a loveliest welcome basket.

Fog didn't spoil our stay at the "Hideaway"

Location, location, location. You couldn't beat it. Just steps away from all the action but secluded enough to have your privacy also. Enough room for my 5. Cooked breakfast most mornings to save up for the best lobster rolls at The Traveling Lobster, don't bother with any others. Would head out most mornings to The Stadium for the best Popovers and coffee and take to the park and enjoy the view of the harbor. Cafe across the way has rhe best blueberry pancakes. Love the crispy edges. Ann is so sweet and very responsive to any questions i had. Definitely will be returning... BUT only thing I hope is different when we return in 2025, is the mattress. To hard for my wife and I. But all the other +'s would keep is coming back. Thanks again Ann!

Perfect location

The house was impeccably clean when we showed up and there was the nicest welcome basket and note. We felt at home right away and found the gathering spaces great for curling up and spending time together. The most amazing part of the property though was the location. It managed to be quiet enough to relax and still be just steps from the excitement of Bar Harbor. To be able to walk out into the bustle of the shops/restaurants and then retreat within minutes was unique and fantastic. For our family there wouldn’t have been a better place to stay in town.

Fantastic home in a great location

Had a great stay! The photos do not do the property justice. It was very spacious and bright and the outdoor area was beautiful. Well equipped kitchen and the location was fantastic and walking distance to everything in town. Our favorite hikes in the park were a short 5 minute drive. Had we stayed later in the season the Island Explorer would have been a great option and would have been a short walk up the driveway. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Wonderfull !!!

Great location and Ann made us feel right at home . We would love to come back to do all the things that there just wasn’t time for. The property has everything you need inside and out. All you have to do is show up and relax .
