Historic home built in the 1880's with all the modern conveniences you'd expect. Steps away from downtown Darien. Come enjoy all the amazing nature sanctuaries and shopping that Darien and nearby St. Simons and Jekyll Island have to offer, all while relaxing in this renovated home built over 130 years ago. The home itself has two living rooms and a reading room, which make for great space to spread out and relax. A large HD TV with surround sound and HD programming will appeal to movie fans and help pass the time. A reading day bed is great for book worms who want to enjoy some silent time. And for the history buff, historic Fort King George (est 1721) is five minutes away. Finally, if you have a boat, a boat ramp/put in point is less than ten minutes away at Mudcat Charlies. From here you can explore our beautiful waterways and nearby islands, such as Blackbeard, Sapelo, and Little St. Simons island! Adventure awaits because this house has it all!
We alway enjoy going down for the blessing of the fleet, And I always try to book this house or the one bedroom behind the main house, It is easy access to all the entertainment and only 20 minutes from st Simon island where we always visit to eat and walk the town!!!
The host is prompt and professional with communication. The property is very clean and the a/c works nicely in the main bedroom that we use. Itâs a great location for a quick stroll to dinner after a day in the car in transit. Will stay again!
Loved this charming home. It is close to a couple great places to eat. The house is nice and has lots of interesting historical info, both about the house and the town. Enjoyed our stay here
This house has so much character and is decorated beautifully. Everything was super clean and all appliances worked perfectly. Located in a quiet neighborhood and convenient to everything. Darien is an interesting town and served as our home base for travels to Savannah and Brunswick.
The home was everything we expected and more. Very clean and decorated beautifully. Located in a safe, walkable, intown area close to restaurants and shops.
This was a perfect waypoint on our journey. Located in a quaint quiet neighborhood with towering moss covered oaks with quick access to I-95. This home has old world charm and modern convenience.
We spent a week at the property and it was exactly as described, easy to get to, centrally located, walking distance to restaurants, able to enjoy area highlights and then come home to a quiet and relaxing environment.
Great old historic home in a great location. Close to downtown, so easy getting around. Our only surprise was an additional VRBO in the garage in the back yard, so we had unexpected company. Great visit overall and we would return.
My friends and I spent one night in Darien on our way to Florida. We were so glad we found this great home instead of rooms at a chain hotel! The location was perfect, the house was charming, and the owner was very responsive and helpful. We all agreed we would stay here again!
We were happy to find such a wonderful place for our overnight stop on our way to NC. It was an adorable and quiet neighborhood. The home was very clean, the beds were super comfortable and it had everything you could want, including coffee, plush towels and more. Add in that we could walk to a wine shop and seafood dinner after a day in the car ⊠we will definitely stay again!!
This home is exactly like the listing said and showed on the web page. Clean, comfortable, in a great family friendly neighborhood. We walked to dinner which was a treat after being in a car all day.
Easy to find, clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. Well equipped for cooking. Excellent host responsiveness to questions. Great location for walking to the waterfront, the historic downtown (town plan compliments of James Oglethorpe), restaurants, and Ft. King George. Easy access to St. Simons and Sapelo Island. Wonderful stay.
Our stay in Darien was a perfect getaway. The historic house is far lovelier than the pictures. The location was walking distance to the quaint town. The fresh seafood was fabulous and the slow, sweet pace of a small town was exactly what we needed. We are already planning a return trip in the fall.
We had a wonderful time at the blessing of the fleet, House was wonderful walked to town perfect location, We have stayed in the one bedroom cottage before we just love our visits
Everything is provided for a comfortable stay, coded door lock for front seems to be a continuing issue but was fairly quickly resolved. Much older house with modern upgrades and set in the historic area of Darien and quiet neighborhood.
