We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage! The cottage is well stocked with everything you might need, from laundry and dish soap to dog towels and coolers for a day by the beach. Our dogs had a great time as well in the fenced in yard, as well as the roadside park just across the street. The interior of the cottage is cute, clean and well furnished, and we had plenty of space for two adults and two dogs. The couches and beds are very comfortable, and there are tons of backup linens in the closet as well. It is situated on a pretty busy road, and took us quite awhile to be able to turn left towards Traverse during peak traffic. However, once on the main road, everything you might want to do is just 10-15 minutes away. Finally, the host was great! She was very attentive during our stay and was quick to answer any questions we had. Overall we loved our stay here, and would be sure to return the next time we come to the Traverse area!
This was a great place to stay if you have a dog and are looking for a centrally located place as a base to explore the area. We were in town for a wedding and had family that lives there in Traverse City and other family and friends staying in TC and the outlying towns around the lakes. This location offered great convenience by being only a short distance to all major areas around TC, and close to trails for walking your dog as well as access to a fenced dog area and a outdoor porch you could close off to sit outside with your dog. The place was right across the street from the East bay and had great sunset views and there was a roadside park there you could access. It also was very close - 10-12 minute ride - from a great dog friendly nature preserve called Maple Bay Nature area, that provides beach access trails to a beautiful beach area that was secluded and quiet and uncrowded! Dogs were allowed on leash, and you can find Petoskey stones there too. This vrbo location also provided all the basic necessities for cooking and for the bath and even provided laundering resources. It was on a busy street, and didnât have direct access to the water so if you are wanting a place to stay and be on the water so you can stay at the residence all day and have time on the lake I would probably not recommend it. But if you are someone who prefers to get out and explore the areas, different towns, beaches, nature trails and other recreational sites, then I would highly recommend it!
The house was cute, nicely decorated, and clean. The location was super convenient to do things in Traverse City and the view of the East Bay from the front window was nice. Pretty much everything you could need was there to use, including dishes, pans, towels, sheets, and bathroom supplies. The property manager even left some suggestions of things to do in the area. There were a few minor things that could be improved, though. The biggest issue was the noisy water softener unit in the laundry room. (This seemed to only be during the day, not at night.) A door or insulated door cover on the laundry room to dampen the noise would be nice. Some baking sheets to use in the oven would also be helpful. The tub creaks when showering (Setting the tub in a bed of concrete during installation elimates this.) Direct access to the fenced area would be great for people traveling with dogs instead of having to walk them over on a leash. Overall, it was a very nice place and we enjoyed our stay.
Across the street from East Bay. You can see the water view from living room! Cristina is a fabulous host! Very comfortable bed! Simple/easy parking and a few minutes from everything. Too dangerous to cross five lanes on foot though. We drove over to waters rdge
The space is very clean and neat with all the amenities you need. We cooked meals in and when we ventured out, your only a few miles into traverse city. Their is also a restaurant located next door that you can walk to. Cristina was lovely to talk to and responded right away to any questions. Also, very dog friendly. Very easy and convenient location.
