Come and relax in the "Ohio" cabin! Enjoy all one the beautiful wildlife right from the deck. There are other cabins available for rent on the property if you have a larger group.
Hosts were great about answering questions before we stayed. The cabin is exactly what we wanted; cozy and quiet, in the woods and on a lake, great fire pit area, close to the wine/cider trail.
We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the use of the kayaks. Bass Lake is very nice and the cluster of small cottages was very quiet. I was surprised that there was not a permanent stove, but the options that were available worked out fine.
My husband, son, small pup and I loved our stay! The well-appointed cabin had everything you could ask for, proximity to town was superb, and the lake was absolutely serene. We had a string of unexpected visits due to the cabin being the internet hub but the owners were easy to work with. Great spot!
What a wonderful and cozy cabin! Everything you could possibly need was steps awayâŠ.amazing deck with lake view, fire pit, dock with rocking chairs and kayaks just a few cabins away. We had a great and relaxing time on the lake! Thank you for an amazing stay.
We had a great time, unfortunately it was cold and rainy so we didnât get to enjoy the lake and outside property âčïž The cabin was very nice, a little bit small for four adults . I believe that you should trim some of the bushes that block the view to the Lake, you could have an absolutely beautiful view.đ€
When you think of up north, Michigan, this cottage is what you imagine! The location is perfect; a wonderful blend of privacy (off of a lake, too), plus very convenient to shopping. We loved our stay. Very comfortable. Highly recommend.
Loved the closeness to Traverse City.
Communication with owners great/quick.
Read description well. I didnât read that the oven was a convection oven/microwave.
Living space is small.
Beds comfy.
Perhaps the best place we have stayed. Great location, very comfortable both inside and out, and the host was top notch. We had a couple minor issues and they were resolved immediately. The pictures are exactly what you get--no surprises. We will stay there again when we get back to the area.
Cottage was wonderful
Bedding very comfortable.
Property was beautiful
Owners are fabulous and very easy to communicate with. Overly generous.
5+ stars!
Cozy lake cottage, super responsive and friendly owners. If you want a place to unplug from the grind, this is it. Loons sing in the night and the patio offers excellent lake viewing. Close to downtown Traverse City. Cabin is very well equipped with fans and cooking implements.
This cottage was absolutely perfect for myself and dog. It was very peaceful and a great place to have friends over for a cookout on the deck. Super close to TC but not to close. I really enjoyed the loons and the blue herons that I saw and heard daily. I would definitely recommend this cottage and will certainly be staying here again!
We really were excited to stay in this cozy cabin. I messaged the owner days before our stay. No response until the day before stating she thought we were coming on Friday not Wednesday. Hmmmm. Makes sense after seeing the uncleanliness. The pictures mustâve been taken awhile ago. The description said heat. There were 2 older space heaters. There was mice feces in the cupboards and shower, mold inside of the filter left inside of the coffee pot for who knows how long, many bugs in the bathroom lights, an air freshener inside of the Tupperware, glass dish cupboard, broken smoke alarm, lots of dirt/dust on top of the refrigerator, moldy shower curtain complete with a dirty bath rug, dirty greasy pan lids. We went out a lot instead of cooking there. We did not say anything to the owner as we thought she lived in Illinois and thought what could she do from there. I texted pictures after sending her a VRBO message which she said she did not receive. She blamed me for not telling her while we were there. My fault according to her. She said because I didnât tell her while there, there was nothing she could do now. I asked her what was she going to doâŠ. Fumigate it?? We heard mice running across the ceiling. It had a barn smell with mice feces. Extremely disappointed. By the wayâŠ. The owner said she lived down the roadâŠMaybe she should have checked it over better before we came on the day we signed up forâŠ
My name is Mike Olson. I grew up in Traverse City and now live in Illinios. I enjoy spending time at our cabin with my wife and two kids. I am an information technology professional that travels quite a bit. So far, I've been able to commute out of the Cherry Capital Airport during the summer and spend a lot of time at the lake.
My wife spent her summers growing up on Bass Lake with her family. Now, several family members own property on the lake including the group that bought these quaint cabins with us. We love being so close to town, and yet looking out on such a serene setting. The kids really enjoy seeing all the wildlife including turkeys, deer, loons, owls, foxes, woodpeckers, beaver, turtles, frogs, and all the other Northern Michigan wildlife. The sandbars are a great place to swim and wade around with the little ones. We enjoy catching up with friends there while floating in the lake or tossing around a football. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!
I enjoy fishing for bass or just taking the kids out to fish for bluegills. The evening boat rides around the lake are great, and we waterski every chance we get. Once a week or so we head over to Boones and have dinner on the big deck while enjoying a local singer play some tunes. We also frequent Oaky's and Bradley's for good food and entertainment. They are close to the cabins.
