We spent the week and enjoyed the 4th of July activities in Bar Harbor. The house easily accommodated the 7 of us. Very clean and the host was easy to contact and things went well. We would stay there again.
Our family enjoyed our stay. The house is well maintained and spacious. There are lots of movies/board games. The street is quiet, but close enough to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The host is very responsive.
Our family of 6 adults and 1 toddler really enjoyed our stay here. It was close enough to Acadia and Bar Harbor yet in the woods to give us a little space. The house was clean and well stocked with paper items.
Our group of 6 adults and 4 children ages 1 - 5 fit into this home beautifully. It had everything we needed and was located in the center of the island making it easy to get everywhere we wanted to go.
Great house, clean and plenty of space for 2 couples. Loved the comfy living room and fully equipped kitchen. We grilled, and my husband said even the grill was pretty clean! This home is in a great location, close to downtown Bar Harbor and the park.
We really enjoyed our stay at Oak Grove. Itâs great for families and has everything you need. The location is perfect. Itâs in a very quiet area but only a 10-15 minute drive to downtown Bar Harbor. The main entrance to Acadia is only a few miles from the house. Itâs easy to explore the quiet side of the island as well. We loved it here. The house is very clean and well stocked.
This home is perfect for adventuring in Acadia. It's minutes from all of the hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing, as well as shops and restaurants. Because of the cleanliness, excellent appliances, and cozy decor, we felt right at home. Yet because we were watching deer walk through the backyard or grilling dinner while watching the sun set through the birch trees, we always felt connected to Acadia. We'll be back.
This property is in a great location. Close enough to everything and far enough from any hassle or noise. It was just right for our family of 9!
The backyard was an extra treat for the kids. They ran off all their extra energy before falling fast asleep from hiking all day at Acadia!
The house had 5 bedrooms with plenty of space for all of us. A well outfitted kitchen added to our easy vacation vibes. We didnât have to rush out for breakfast and we had well packed lunches ready for the day.
Unfortunately 2 of the bedrooms didnât have a/c and one bedroom didnât have blackout curtains. This is an easy fix and Iâm sure the owners will take care of it soon as this is a newer listing. We would definitely come back to this lovely spot. Looking forward to it!
We really enjoyed our stay at Oak Grove. The property was soo clean. It was a great location to Bar Harbor. We also appreciated the mudroom for our hiking packs, shoes, etc.
The only challenge to staying here is that there aren't enough window air conditioners for a five-bedroom house. We happen to be staying there during a heatwave (It was almost 90 degrees for a few days in early June!). There are two window air conditioners, which meant that there weren't enough for all of the bedrooms and there weren't any available for the common spaces. We were a bit disappointed because it is advertised as having a/c, but two units just weren't enough given the heat.
We would stay here again, but think people should know about the a/c situation.
We work a lot out of town and this home gave us a ton of space to relax when not working. Kitchen was well equipped and everything was clean. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed our stay in Bar Harbor. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in this area. Plenty of room to accommodate the 7 of us comfortably. Tracy was a super host and answered us promptly if we needed her.
This home was plenty big enough for our 2 families with 5 young adult children! It was clean and comfortable with comfortable space in/outdoors for family meals. Close drive to downtown but away from the hustle and bustle in a quiet neighborhood. Tracy, the owner, was extremely helpful and responsive to all questions!! We had a fabulous time!
House was very clean and comfortable for 6 adults and 3 children. Kitchen was very well stocked for cooking or using the grill off the back deck. Appreciated that it was stocked with hand, dish, dishwasher and laundry soap as well as dryer sheets. Plenty of towels. Garage was available for parking or storing bikes and paddle boards. The location is convenient to Bar Harbor and Acadia, restaurants and grocery stores. Host supplied a list of attractions and restaurants prior to check in which was very helpful. Also enjoyed nearby Wood Lake for swimming and paddle boarding. Great rental and we would definitely stay here again.
House was perfect for our annual two-family trip to Maine. Excellent location, well-equipped kitchen, great communication with owner (Tracy). Luxurious sheets, nice thick towels vs the thin cheap ones you sometimes find. Ample room to gather in the open kitchen/eating/living room area. Ideal access to both the east and west sides of the park - west hiking trails are markedly less crowded. The only improvements I could suggest would be 1 - the addition of a fire pit - it was near impossible to sit outside with the Maine mosquitos; the smoke from the fire pits weâve had at other properties helped keep them at bay.
2 - improved bedding in the den. The pull-out sofa was somewhat uncomfortable; perhaps the owners can consider a bed or one of those memory foam pull-outs. All other beds/rooms were excellent. A/C was a nice touch in Maine! Overall, a great experience; highly recommend!
This home was very clean! We liked the fact that the basics were provided. A definite plus! Very spacious and nestled back in the woods it was very private. It was just a very short drive to Bar Harbor and many other points of interest. We enjoyed it immensely!
Very impressed with how clean was the house. We were a party of 4 adults and 3 kids. We love visiting MDI/Acadia National Park. Location was perfect to Park Loop and Bar Harbor. The setup of the rooms were perfect for us as well as we had grandparents so they stayed on the bottom floor room. Thank you again and we will be back!
This property was located within a short drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia. The condition was just as listed, and a wonderful getaway for my family. Tracy was very responsive and helpful before during and after our stay. The property was clean and had all the amenities we needed. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Easy ride to town and access to multiple park entrances. The house was clean and comfortableâŠ. Had everything we could possibly need down to extra towels.
The gardens were beautiful and the porch was a great place to relax (until the mosquitos woke up:) We used the grill multiple times making dinner easy.
We would definitely love to come back.
We had such a wonderful stay! Tracy was responsive and so kind! We had a small wedding in the front yard with nine people and it was the perfect location! We highly recommend renting this house. Thank you, Tracy!
We had a wonderful week at Tracyâs property! The location is about 10-15 minutes from downtown Bar harbor and the entrance to Acadia. The location also offers easy access to SW Harbor and other points of interest on Mount Desert Island. The house is on a quiet road with a large yard, perfect for families with young children such as ours! The house is very large, technically 5 bedrooms with 2 full baths. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms and kitchen were both very well stocked.
This house was the perfect spot for families looking to explore Acadia and the surrounding area, but want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the main area of bar harbor. Tracy was a responsive, kind, and helpful host. We highly recommend this property!
We had a great stay. The rooms were very clean and there was plenty of space for our family: five adults and one small child. We enjoyed using the grill for dinners and sitting out on the back deck and found the living room area to be comfortable. The home was conveniently located for getting to Acadia and Bar Harbor and we found the host to be helpful and responsive. We'd highly recommend!
Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park have been our home away from home for over 25 years! We love everything Mount Dessert Island has to offer from an incredible National Park, friendly shops & restaurants, and so much more. We love to hike & explore MDI. Feel free to ask for restaurant recommendations, hiking suggestions or other points of local interest.
