Absolutely loved our stay here! Such a unique location. We are a family of 4 from Canada. Amenities were great, lovely stocked kitchen, and how great is it to play pool and badminton in a 13th century building! Locating parking is a bit of a challenge. We had a car because we were travelling to the south after our stay in Avignon but you certainly donât need one. The sites and great restaurants are all within walking distance. Marianne is an excellent host and gave us lots of helpful information. Would definitely return!
This is truly a standout place to stay in the beautiful town of Avignon. Centrally located, beautifully restored, tastefully decorated and older than the Palais Du Pape itself. Marianne was a wonderful host. Definitely would stay again if ever in Avignon.
We enjoyed our stay during the festival in this most unique historical building. It is truly unique and one of a kind experience. It is also exceedingly large! We will always remember our stay in because of this place. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bathroom was great. We all enjoyed it.
A beautiful and unique place to stay in the heart of Avignon. Great base to explore the city and the festival and also to hang out in--not least for the stunning roof terrace. The host is super attentive and kind. Strongly recommend if you're in Avignon with up to 4 people and can splurge.
Our stay was amazing! Such a wonderful property that was equipped with everything we needed. Marianne was always available if we had any questions. Highly recommend this charming and historic apartment.
We wanted to come back since stayed here in 2019 and this time didnât disappoint! Loved it again- we cooked in each night with the delicious food from Les Halles! Canât wait for third time.
The main areas were spectacular. Really neat place to stay. Lots of stairs (55 to the main area). Location was super. Nice touches with the piano, stereo and badminton racquets! Decor was amazing. Beautifully done
Marianne was a wonderful host. The property was centrally located and very spacious. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans and we stayed in several nights to eat after buying delicious food at the nearby markets. This was a most memorable vacation in a wonderful part of France. Merci encore Marianne!!
We felt like locals staying in the heart of the old city, in this historic yet super-modern apartment. The location absolutely cannot be beat. Only a five-minute walk from the Avignon market & steps from numerous restaurants. Our hosts were super-attentive, easy to reach with questions, and really accommodating.
The apartment is HUGE, with high ceilings and a big kitchen/dining space. The bathroom is equipped with modern everything, and there's also a big washer & dryer. Be aware that you will be walking up a bunch of stairs, and the distance from the bedroom to the bathroom is long in the middle of the night. (You may want to bring a rechargable nightlight or two).
A great alternative to any hotel nearby. We would definitely stay here again.
I have only wonderful things to say about this property and our stay there. It is beautiful, unique, spacious, clean, comfortable, and well-located. It is on a quiet street only a short walk from the TI (in addition to being useful for information, several tours use it for a meeting point for departure), and still within easy walking distance to the train station if you want to take a day trip from Avignon. Marianne was delightful, and my family loved staying there. It's not often that you get to stay in a place like this!
Heavenly. Stunning. Unlike any property I have stayed in.
The pictures do not quite do this property justice. It is stunning. The host greeted us explained the history of this chapel and its place in history. She even carried my bag up! Well equipped Kitchen a stunning master bedroom and just loaded with charm. I will return!
This is an incredibly unique and stunning property. Tremendously spacious and rich in history. Very comfortable for my family. Located on quiet street yet near to anything you may need in Avignon. Served as an excellent home base for our day trips river kayaking, historical site visiting, vineyard touring, etc. Beds, linens, kitchen equip all very nice and comfortable. The host is very kind and considerate...even dropped off croissants and baguette throughout our stay. Loved it. Best vrbo!
This is an amazing space, updated into a modern Provençal wonder, steeped in a rich history. The wonderful and inviting qualities of the space, just a few minutes walk from all of the places to see and be in Avignon, are only surpassed by the qualities of its host. Marianne was a wonderful and receptive host for our group. We know Avignon extraordinarily well and believe us when we say that there is likely no other place like this converted chapel to enjoy your stay in Avignon. Moreover, Marianne is a responsive, considerate host and you will not be disappointed.
This property is nothing short of amazing. The pictures do not do it justice. This IS the place to stay when you are in Avignon. There is nothing like it. The neighborhood, the nearby restaurants, the quiet, the safety, the beauty, and there is not one detail missed on this amazingly restored 13th century church. Marianna has clearly put her heart and soul into this place and it shows. I cannot recommend staying here more! If I could rate this higher than 5 stars I would.
This place is so nice you won't believe your eyes! It is so nice we wanted to just stay in and enjoy the space. Once I saw the fully equipped kitchen and the beautiful dinning space I knew where I wanted to have dinner in every night. I cooked myself but it would be interesting to bring in a chef as well. I took the recommendation of another reviewer and parked at les Halles. (It's 20 euros a day, or 30 for a lost ticket đ)
This is the place to be if you want to enjoy time together.
We stayed here for a month. It is a unique and stunning placeâŠevery bit as impressive in person than in the pictures, if not more so. Lots of space, comfortable seating and bed, awesome kitchen which is well equipped. You get both a tub and shower as well as two sinks so perfect for a couple. And we were grateful to have a washer and dryer â the latter rarely available in Europe rentals. Everything you need is provided. There was a minor mixup at check-in but the owner took care of it quickly. The woman who cleans gave us the orientation tour. It is fortunate that my husband knew French or we wouldnât have been able to understand a word. There was a second person we met later whose English is excellent so worth asking for her. It is five flights of stairs which we did not mind. The location is perfectâŠ.right in the middle of the old city, ten minutes from the train & bus station. We did several day trips to nearby cities: Arles, Uzes, Ille de las Sorgue, Apt, Nimes, etc. Best VRBO weâve had out of many!
Our stay in The Loft was one of the highlights of our three weeks in France. It is absolutely beautiful, and is well worth the stairs to get there. It has a fully-appointed kitchen, and Mom was delighted to discover that the lovely piano is in tune! The Loft is an easy walk to anything you could need in Avignon. We canât say enough good about our experience there!
Marianne is a superhost for good reason. She was incredibly helpful. She offered to pick up our 90-year-old Mom from the cruise ship, put chairs on the stair landings for Mom, carried our luggage up and down the stairs, give us the history of the building, gave us restaurant suggestions, and even gave us advice when we got sick. We feel like we made a friend!
My family and I had a wonderful time in this 13th Century loft which was an experience it itself. We loved being in the space so much that we stayed in on our first day in Avignon just taking in the our surroundings while our daughter played the piano which made a beautiful sound in the space.
Marianne was the perfect host. Waiting for us at check in and giving us a tour of the loft and explained the history of the church and pointed our details in the structure. It was a very personalized check in which was very much appreciated and made us feel more welcomed. Marianne also went above and beyond by accompanying me to the police station when i lost some property in town. Place is well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay and is centrally located. Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Avignon!
This beautiful property in the heart of Avignon was the best part of our trip to Provence area. It was the perfect home base for 4 nights for multiple day trips in the area. Marianne was an amazing, attentive host. By the end of our stay we felt truly immersed in the culture. We happened to be there over Easter holiday, so many shops were closed for a few days, which was unfortunate. The apartment itself as way beyond our expectations. Shopping at Les Halles market and cooking in the fully stocked kitchen may have been my favorite part. The hidden gem on the roof was breathtaking. Perfect spot for a family with 2 children. The second bedroom was a little small, so might be tough for 2 couples. There was one bathroom to share but it was huge and that was never an issue. I cannot express how unique and wonderful this property was. You will not regret coming here. I hope to visit again one day!! Thanks Marianne for the amazing hospitality and memories we will cherish.
There are not enough superlatives to properly describe our stay in Marrianneâs converted chapel! In every way, she exceeded our expectations.
The place was beautiful, clean and well-stocked. The location was amazing: set like a jewel in the heart of the old city of Avignon. From the rooftop patio, we looked across the vista of clay tiles at the Popeâs Palace, St. Didier, St. Pierre and more. Les Halles market is a short jaunt through the medieval streets. It was like being transported back to the 13th Century!
Marrianne was the consummate hostess, ready with advice on sights to see, places to shop and the best restaurants. I cannot say enough for how well she took care of us! She even walked us to the central train station to help us negotiate the transfer to the TGV depot on the morning we left.
Do not delay. Book this place! I know weâll be back to enjoy more fine RhĂŽne Valley wine and outstanding Provençal cuisine.
This apartment is so charming, unique and well-equipped! The photos are accurate, the kitchen is well-stocked and the host had someone meet us to make check-in simple.
