This was the neatest place we have ever stayed—historical, beautiful, clean, and very special. The host was incredible and took time to connect with us and make us feel welcome. My wife and I spent 5 nights at this stunning property. There is something special about going to sleep at night in a former church building that was constructed out of stone more than 800 years ago with exterior walls 6 feet thick; gothic arch windows; a stone spiral staircase connecting the living area with the kitchen and dining area; and a dome concrete ceiling. The property is centrally located to everything within the fortress walls of old Avignon. The hostess Marianne was terrific, assisting with travel logistics, directions, baggage, and restaurant recommendations. We give this property and its proprietress 5 stars.!

This apartment is so charming, unique and well-equipped! The photos are accurate, the kitchen is well-stocked and the host had someone meet us to make check-in simple.

This is truly a standout place to stay in the beautiful town of Avignon. Centrally located, beautifully restored, tastefully decorated and older than the Palais Du Pape itself. Marianne was a wonderful host. Definitely would stay again if ever in Avignon.

Fabulous historic loft!

Absolutely loved our stay here! Such a unique location. We are a family of 4 from Canada. Amenities were great, lovely stocked kitchen, and how great is it to play pool and badminton in a 13th century building! Locating parking is a bit of a challenge. We had a car because we were travelling to the south after our stay in Avignon but you certainly don’t need one. The sites and great restaurants are all within walking distance. Marianne is an excellent host and gave us lots of helpful information. Would definitely return!

One-off stay in Avignon

A beautiful and unique place to stay in the heart of Avignon. Great base to explore the city and the festival and also to hang out in--not least for the stunning roof terrace. The host is super attentive and kind. Strongly recommend if you're in Avignon with up to 4 people and can splurge.

Unique apartment

We enjoyed our stay during the festival in this most unique historical building. It is truly unique and one of a kind experience. It is also exceedingly large! We will always remember our stay in because of this place. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bathroom was great. We all enjoyed it.

Mindblowingly memorable

This was the best VRBO we have stayed in worldwide, by a significant margin! It was perfectly located, clean and cleverly decorated. There were so many fascinating idiosyncracies throughout - it was a favorite for both us as a couple and our teenage children. Such a beautiful and meaningful stay proactively engaging host, and comfortable creative surroundings.

Excellent second time

We wanted to come back since stayed here in 2019 and this time didn’t disappoint! Loved it again- we cooked in each night with the delicious food from Les Halles! Can’t wait for third time.

Unique place to stay in Avignon

The main areas were spectacular. Really neat place to stay. Lots of stairs (55 to the main area). Location was super. Nice touches with the piano, stereo and badminton racquets! Decor was amazing. Beautifully done

Fantastic Place

We loved the Apt. It was in the perfect location to enjoy Avignon. Check-in was a little confusing but all in all okay. We played pool, backgammon, enjoyed the patio on the roof top, kitchen was great, bathroom area was great. Needs a couple new pool cues, Lots of stairs to climb, main area is a little warmer, but bedroom has its own split unit and was perfect.

Perfect stay in Avignon

Marianne was a wonderful host. The property was centrally located and very spacious. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans and we stayed in several nights to eat after buying delicious food at the nearby markets. This was a most memorable vacation in a wonderful part of France. Merci encore Marianne!!

Entering the property left us literally speechless. The beauty, size, history and attention to detail were beyond words. Our host, Marianne, was wonderful and ensured all our needs were met. It made our stay in Avignon truly memorable.

The highlight of our trip

This was the most memorable part of our trip across France. It was perfect blend of thoughtful decoration and historic structure. We experienced a lot in our trip but the one thing that we will remember years from now, will be this loft. It was so special. Marianne was wonderful. Maybe we'll be back again?

Fantastic stay in a great city - book without hesitation!

This place was incredible. It’s much bigger than it looks in the pictures! Marianne was a fantastic host and gave us a great history of the building. The location is perfect - easy to walk to all the major sights and tons of restaurants and shopping right out the door, but the apartment itself is very private. Best VRBO we’ve booked by far, and it’s not even close for second place. If you have a car, park in the Les Halles market parking and the property is an easy 5 minute walk from there, even with your luggage.

Marianne is so sweet and helpful and wanted us to have the best experience. We loved the place and we loved her recommendations of where to dine and park for that matter. We didn’t want to leave - so I think we will have to return.

Perfect in Every Way

Everything about this place is amazing... the history, the location, the decor, the hostess! It is located right in the center of Avignon making everything you'd want to see in close proximity. The home was beautiful and relaxing - immensely comfortable and contains everything you'd need for your stay. The rooftop patio is an extra bonus where you can overlook the city while lounging comfortably. The owner was so kind and gave us a fascinating history of the property. We would absolutely stay again!
