We had a great stay at this property which offered great privacy and amazing star gazing at night by the fire. The location is close to the Joshua Tree National Park which remains a hidden gem among our national parks. We have enjoyed exploring the park, hiking beautiful and unique trails, dinner at Kitchen in the Desert (29 Palms) and Joshua Tree Saloon (excellent tacos!! and relaxed atmosphere) and amazing coffee at Joshua Tree Coffee nearby. Special thanks to the host, Brian, for his excellent communications and being a great host!
Had a chance to come out here for a weekend to watch a meteor shower, and we didn't have to leave the property to stargaze. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, and we had a wonderful time relaxing by the fire pit.
Our family enjoyed the quiet and relative solitude of the property. Great sunset views and selection of mid century modern furnishings and decor on the interior.
The property was perfect. It was just the relaxing, quiet, remote getaway we needed. What a beautiful, well-kept home. I'd really love to come stay again.
If you are looking for a beautiful secluded property... this is it! My friends and I stayed here for 2 nights and loved everything about this house! It's so comfortable and the views are killer. We will be going back!
We were looking for some time away with our medium pups and our adult son. Maravilla is a great âgetawayâ in thr middle of the desert and youâd think you were in the hills of Los Angeles with its modern and well appointed look. The temperature and the amenities are just right. The space is beautiful and easy to access ( as kind as the road is dry). The host was very responsive and easy to work with.
Everything was exactly as described. The house is updated and modern and it's just like being at home with all the amenities. You can see a million stars, it was really quiet, and you're a short 20 minute drive from JTNP. As I type that I'm not even sure it was 20 minutes, it might be shorter.
The house was nice, if your vacation is staying inside and cooking, this house is for you. Nice kitchen with all utensils and appliances you could want. The house was clean.
I was not happy with outdoor furniture, it was shoddy and in bad shape, cushions were ripped and stuffing coming out. Didn't feel safe sitting on outdoor furniture.
Looks nice in the photos, not reality.
Owner made a big deal of "saying" the spa would be ready for us on our arrival when we booked 2-months out... and it was not. It was cold and we had to reset breaker to get it to work (so wait to day to use). Disappointing when we travelled 12 hours and looked forward to relaxing in spa. Also, lots of sand in spa, the cover was broken and bricks were holding it in place. Owner told me lots of sand blows in the desert. Understood, maybe purchase a better cover? One that is not broken so the sand CAN'T get in?
They have to truck in water to this house, so you'll need to conserve. Not mentioned upfront, but not a big deal, we try not to be wasteful and conserve anyway.
I did not check the listing closely, (my fault) there is NO washer and dryer available at this house.
Again, I understand, its the desert, but I feel like we paid a LOT of money for this house, I wished we picked another house.
We chose this place because it was remote and quiet. The hosts have provided lots of small amenitites and decorated it with very nice furnishings. There is lots of room to spread out in the house and lots of yard to walk around in. We enjoyed the spectacular sunrises and sunsets. The warm wind in the evenings made it quite pleasant. The outdoor furniture added to the pleasant experience.
This house is very well appointed, and off the main road or any beaten path. It has stunning views of the desert and mountains, wonderful sunsets, a great hot tub and lots of space to spread out and yet come together for meals or conversation. It is a relaxing environment after a long day of hiking. We really enjoyed ourselves and the host is fantastic.
Peaceful, beautiful, tranquil, cold coyote calls, starlight, full moon, privacy, sweet soak in hot tub, super comfortable bed, plenty of pillows, host amazing response when I couldnât figure out the dimmers (hahah), we relaxed in fine fashion and made a beautiful dinner in the well appointed kitchen, love the plethora of books/magazines, pushed the two couches together for an adult playpen hehehe
Perfect little oasis in the desert. The house is beautiful, clean, and private. The hot tub was hot upon arrival, and the local coffee provided was great. Nothing more we could have asked for :)
Great place, little far out of town but we knew that and it made for better star gazing. Everything worked well and plenty of space for 6 adults. Great communication with property manager a little trouble with the gate on arrival and he answered right away and stayed on the line to make sure we got in and everything was ok. Highly recommended
Great proximity to Joshua Tree! Love the all modern house and amenities! Love everything about this place, from the decor to the cups and bowls to the comfy beds! As travelers, a comfy bed is so important! The hosts were great with providing great info and recommendations. The only downside to this location is the wind is non stop. We were able to enjoy the fire pit a couple nights and the hot tub one night. Thank you for sharing this beautiful gem in the desert!
Beautiful decor and great kitchen for those who enjoy cooking. Very gracious hosts. Location is quite remote so best enjoyed if you plan well ahead for what you will need at the house. Very easy access to the east entrance of j tree. Good spot for families and pet friendly.
