Wake up to the tide coming in, the occasional seal swimming up to the shore, or an osprey gliding in the sunrise. Your day may be filled with kayaking in the bay, and lobster rolls for lunch at the picnic table. In the evening you may sit around the fire pit to watch the sunset and eat s'mores. Enjoy this breathtaking view every day, and the peaceful well decorated cottage

The Space:
Wake up to the tide coming in, the occasional seal swimming up to the shore, or an osprey gliding in the sunrise. Your day may be filled with kayaking in the bay, and lobster rolls for lunch at the picnic table. In the evening you may sit around the fire pit to watch the sunset and eat s'mores. Enjoy this breathtaking view every day, and the peaceful well decorated and spacious home. We are close to town for antiquing or groceries, yet on a quiet private road perfect for walks or jogging.
This home welcomes your children age 8 and up, due to the close proximity of the waterfront. Please let us know if you wish to discuss your family!
First floor: Our open concept living room, dining room and kitchen have a full ocean view! There is a full bathroom, and washer/dryer for your use. AC/heat and a propane stove are in the living room for your comfort year round.
Second floor: 3 bedrooms including a master bedroom with a balcony and stairs to the waterfront. There is a full bathroom, and a heat pump/AC in the hallway to cool off the second floor. There is an additional mobile window AC to use in any of the second floor bedrooms.

The stairs down to the water provide easy access for swimming, sun-tanning, or rent kayaks to boat right from the property! The open floor plan offers plenty of space for your family to spread out. This home is well appointed, and has everything you may need in your home away from home. Welcome to the #saltlife at Seaside Spindle Cottage!!

This home has a limit of 5 people. This home is not suitable for young children, please understand that the owners are not comfortable with allowing children under 10 years old. When requesting to book, please provide information about your party! Sorry, No pets or service animals are allowed at this home.

Amazing Cottage and Location

This home was actually amazing. Everything we needed was available and in good condition. The view of the bay was incredible and the amount of wildlife we saw right from out porch or living room was unbelievable. When visiting the Arcadia area you couldn't find a better place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay here and will miss it very much. The views were spectacular and when the tide was low we saw deer while during high tide we saw seals sunning themselves and many shore birds. The house was fully stocked and beautiful. We spent many mornings lounging watching the views. It's close to Ellsworth Town where there was plenty of choices for shopping and dining. A short drive to miniature golf and to Bar Harbor. One of my best vacations! A great combination of relaxation and hiking.

Charming Cottage

This is a charming and cozy house. We loved looking at the view and the wildlife. It was an easy 35-40 min drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor and then back home to the quiet privacy at this spot.

Perfect Getaway!

The Spindle cottage is a perfect getaway from all the crowds and hustle and bustle. If you are looking to spend a day packed with activities - and then come "home" to unwind - or just stay and enjoy the scenery and peacefulness - this is the place! It truly felt like a home away from home!

Serenity on the bay

We enjoyed captivating views from sunrise to sunset in this lovely home. The cozy furnishings, board games, puzzles, books, and a well-appointed kitchen provided all we needed and more. It was an amazing vacation. So thankful!

Scenic perfection

The views and peace of this property are unbelievable for the price. Comfortable and convenient to everything (towns, coasts, Acadia, state parks and monuments) but you will just want to stay at home and enjoy chilling in the yard.

Spindle Cottage sept 14-21

This is such a special place with a large yard and wonderful view. We enjoyed the tidal changes and the wildlife. The house has everything you need and was clean. We enjoyed campfires each night. The windows across the front of the home upstairs and downstairs provided an excellent view of Union Bay. We will return if time permits

Perfect quiet, private, romantic stay!

The property was stunningly beautiful inside and out! Very well kept clean, personal touches left by host! We left some personal items behind and she shipped them home to us. Location is extremely easy and fast to Acadia national Park and bar harbor. The scenery is stunningly beautiful! I would highly recommend it would definitely stay here again!

Amazing Views!

My husband and I stayed here for a month, a test run for retirement. WiFI enabled me to work remotely with incredible views of the water and all the active wildlife. It is so close to busier tourist areas, yet very secluded, private and quiet. Loved it!

Views as good as at Acadia!

We stayed at Spindle cottage on a trip to Acadia and it turned out to be a picture perfect vacation spot! The house is charming, well appointed and very clean with many creature comforts. The hosts put a lot of thought into the details, providing a comprehensive guest book, lots of extra towels, laundry baskets, hooks all over the house, emergency kit, etc. The fireplace was so warming (it was unseasonably chilly when we were there in May) and the firepit was a big hit with the kids for smores! It was also conveniently located within 30 minutes of Acadia and five minutes to grocery stores, restaurants and other retail. But even if the house were a shack we would stay again because of the million dollar views. We loved seeing the bay at different times of the day, high tide, low tide, and in foggy weather and sunny weather. Host was responsive and easy to work with. We would love to stay again (and again and again!).

Million dollar view

It had everything we hoped for. The house is in a nice peaceful location and is well appointed for spending meals in. Two beautiful bedrooms with views. My done enjoyed the third bedroom for being nice and quite and dark in the morning.

Spindle cottage review

My wife and I visited for 6 nights. The house and views were spectacular. If you are looking for a quiet throwback Maine retreat, this is your place. We watched seals through the binoculars each day, sat by the fire pit and walked the beach during low tide. We went to Acadia most days and found it a very easy 30 minute drive or less. I would easily come back again.

A Magical Vacation

Maine will always hold a piece of our hearts after our family's vacation. We cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was. This property went above and beyond our expectations. From the breathtaking views to the seals that would sit on the rocks when the tide went out to the little touches such as having s'mores ingredients when we arrived - this property could not have been more perfect. It was centrally located to Bar Harbor, Acadia, and Blue Hill. The owner also recommended we visit Winter Harbor and it was one of the highlights of our trip. This vacation allowed our family to create so many memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.

I kept looking out the windows and thinking, “This is not real! It feels like I am living in a painting!” Our stay was perfect! It was a short drive to Schoodic Peninsula, Acadia Proper, and Blue Hill! We climbed many mountains in Acadia, kayaked and explored and then rested well back at the house! The house had everything we needed! It was a joy to watch fisherman, seals, and many birds including two bald eagles from the seats by the water! Incredible! Thank you for sharing this lovely home with us!

The Perfect Maine Cottage

Spindle Cottage was everything we hoped it would be for our family vacation. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and what a view! This is clearly a cottage that is well loved and cared for. It feels like home the moment you step into it. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the tools you need to prepare a meal with. If you want to go out to eat, there are places nearby for that as well
and if you are looking for something in particular, just email Susan, as we did, and you are sure to get an immediate response with a great recommendation. Bar Harbor & Acadia National park were within an easy half hour drive. We literally had the park trails to ourselves, due to the timeframe of our visit. There is a notebook at the cottage filled with all the information you could possibly need for a fabulous vacation. Last but not least, the firepit in the evenings was the perfect ending after a full day of hiking Acadia. If we get a chance to return to Maine, Spindle Cottage is where we would stay!

Fantastic view cottage

What a wonderful place to stay for the week and explore Acadia National Park! 20 minutes away depending on where in the park you are going. The view was picture perfect. Grandson had a blast searching out the tide pools right out in front of this cottage. The bird watching is fantastic eagles warblers gulls, osprey, blue herons all beautiful! seals and sea lions in the bay. Binoculars supplied!! Eat at Union River Bay Lobster House 10 minutes away. Get breakfast, coffee, treats at Sugar Bakery at Bar Harbor Rd and Oak Point! Pizza at Pat’s ! Beds have cushy pads on them. Couch is comfy with a view of the bay. Fire pit was lovely for night enjoyment and s’mores ! We bought our own wood- $5 a bundle. Nice washer dryer to use with soap supplied. Kitchen was well supplied for cooking with spices and basic cooking needs. Had lots of drying towels. Bathrooms were nicely appointed with a magnifying mirror in the upstairs bath. Lots of towels to use. Large pool towels supplied was nice. Spindle Cottage was all we could hope for and more!! Thank you for sharing your amazing place! An eagle waved good bye to us as we walked to the car to leave! Best goodbye we’ve had!

Can’t say enough great things about this property and the host. The views are amazing at all times of the day. The house is equipped with truly anything you could need. And the location is great, in a quiet neighborhood but close to all the big ticket areas. The host was amazing and very easy to communicate with, she even brought over a pack and play so we didn’t have to travel with one. I would rent this house 1000 times again.
