WATERFRONT, HEATED AND FIRE PIT, SLEEPS 5, Seaside Spindle Cottage. 3 Bedroom, 2 full bathrooms

Wake up to the tide coming in, the occasional seal swimming up to the shore, or an osprey gliding in the sunrise. Your day may be filled with kayaking in the bay, and lobster rolls for lunch at the picnic table. In the evening you may sit around the fire pit to watch the sunset and eat s'mores. Enjoy this breathtaking view every day, and the peaceful well decorated cottage

The Space:
Wake up to the tide coming in, the occasional seal swimming up to the shore, or an osprey gliding in the sunrise. Your day may be filled with kayaking in the bay, and lobster rolls for lunch at the picnic table. In the evening you may sit around the fire pit to watch the sunset and eat s'mores. Enjoy this breathtaking view every day, and the peaceful well decorated and spacious home. We are close to town for antiquing or groceries, yet on a quiet private road perfect for walks or jogging.
This home welcomes your children age 8 and up, due to the close proximity of the waterfront. Please let us know if you wish to discuss your family!
First floor: Our open concept living room, dining room and kitchen have a full ocean view! There is a full bathroom, and washer/dryer for your use. AC/heat and a propane stove are in the living room for your comfort year round.
Second floor: 3 bedrooms including a master bedroom with a balcony and stairs to the waterfront. There is a full bathroom, and a heat pump/AC in the hallway to cool off the second floor. There is an additional mobile window AC to use in any of the second floor bedrooms.

The stairs down to the water provide easy access for swimming, sun-tanning, or rent kayaks to boat right from the property! The open floor plan offers plenty of space for your family to spread out. This home is well appointed, and has everything you may need in your home away from home. Welcome to the #saltlife at Seaside Spindle Cottage!!

This home has a limit of 5 people. This home is not suitable for young children, please understand that the owners are not comfortable with allowing children under 10 years old. When requesting to book, please provide information about your party! Sorry, No pets or service animals are allowed at this home.

Can’t say enough great things about this property and the host. The views are amazing at all times of the day. The house is equipped with truly anything you could need. And the location is great, in a quiet neighborhood but close to all the big ticket areas. The host was amazing and very easy to communicate with, she even brought over a pack and play so we didn’t have to travel with one. I would rent this house 1000 times again.

Wonderful location with house perched directly above a tidal inlet with harbor seals, blue herons and great kayaking. Check in was easy with door code and the house is lovely with tons of light, incredible views, comfortable beds, and tasteful decoration. We had a wonderful time.

This house is definitely one of the best equipped rentals we have stayed in. We enjoyed being right on the water and got to see seals and Eagles everyday. The drive to Acadia is roughly 30 minutes and an easy drive. Owner is very responsive and great with communication.

Amazing home and location!

Our stay at Spindle cottage could not have been better! The views of Union River Bay were absolutely beautiful. The cottage was very clean and very well stocked with everything you would need. Beds are super comfy! The location made it easy to explore both Schoodic point and Mount Desert Island. Loved it, would return!

We enjoyed our stay here and will miss it very much. The views were spectacular and when the tide was low we saw deer while during high tide we saw seals sunning themselves and many shore birds. The house was fully stocked and beautiful. We spent many mornings lounging watching the views. It's close to Ellsworth Town where there was plenty of choices for shopping and dining. A short drive to miniature golf and to Bar Harbor. One of my best vacations! A great combination of relaxation and hiking.

Great vacation!

The property was clean and the view was great. Quiet neighborhood. Worked very well for our family of 5. House was stocked well with towels, etc. and the kitchen had all the necessities for breakfast prep. We ate out the rest of the time as restaurants in the area are very good. Location was easy driving distance from Acadia park and Bar Harbor and surrounding area. Would recommend this property.

Amazing Cottage and Location

This home was actually amazing. Everything we needed was available and in good condition. The view of the bay was incredible and the amount of wildlife we saw right from out porch or living room was unbelievable. When visiting the Arcadia area you couldn't find a better place to stay.

Excellent 3-bedroom home overlooking the water!

We really enjoyed this water location. You can see sunrises and sunsets plus enjoy a campfire to watch the stars. We had a bald eagle visit and numerous water fowl.If you are looking for a great relaxing location close to bar harbor this is the place.

Views as good as at Acadia!

We stayed at Spindle cottage on a trip to Acadia and it turned out to be a picture perfect vacation spot! The house is charming, well appointed and very clean with many creature comforts. The hosts put a lot of thought into the details, providing a comprehensive guest book, lots of extra towels, laundry baskets, hooks all over the house, emergency kit, etc. The fireplace was so warming (it was unseasonably chilly when we were there in May) and the firepit was a big hit with the kids for smores! It was also conveniently located within 30 minutes of Acadia and five minutes to grocery stores, restaurants and other retail. But even if the house were a shack we would stay again because of the million dollar views. We loved seeing the bay at different times of the day, high tide, low tide, and in foggy weather and sunny weather. Host was responsive and easy to work with. We would love to stay again (and again and again!).

Stunning Location

We had a perfect stay at this warm, comfortable and charming home right on the water with a stunning view. It has everything we needed and so close to town. Great communication with host. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Winter Getaway

This property was PERFECT!! Every evening we sat by the fire pit and enjoyed the amazing atmosphere and view listening to music. We ate lobster every night and enjoyed the cottage. It is very clean and comfortable. We are so glad we chose it and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway.

Maine has been a bucket list trip for us for a long time. This trip and this little cottage exceeded all expectations!! The views are absolutely stunning! The best cozy cottage yet!

The house itself is in a quiet area and the views were incredible. Bed was comfy, kitchen was great (we made breakfast every morning before heading out to hike and explore. Loved everything about this place. Stargazing at night was amazing and the sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Spindle Cottage sept 14-21

This is such a special place with a large yard and wonderful view. We enjoyed the tidal changes and the wildlife. The house has everything you need and was clean. We enjoyed campfires each night. The windows across the front of the home upstairs and downstairs provided an excellent view of Union Bay. We will return if time permits

Family week away by the sea

We were visiting from England, and looking for peace, quiet and spectacular views and we certainly found them here. The house location is perfect - the immediate surroundings couldn't be more peaceful, but access is very easy for Acadia and the highway for longer trips, as well as easy shopping in Ellsworth. The grounds of the house are gorgeous, with direct access to the sea, and space to relax by the fire at night. The house itself is extremely comfortable and well-equipped with gorgeous views from all the main rooms. The only very minor negative is that one of the bedrooms is smaller and doesn't have a view (which caused some arguments between our daughters even though they are young adults now!)
