Welcome to Moondancer, a beautifully renovated, dog-friendly home nestled on the oceanside of Monteray Shores in Corolla. Just steps from both the Atlantic Ocean and Currituck Sound, this spacious retreat is perfect for families or friends seeking comfort, convenience, and coastal charm.

Outdoor Oasis
Relax in your own private, fenced-in pool and soak in the brand-new hot tub under a charming trellis. Grill up a meal on the gas BBQ, unwind in a lounge chair, or gather at the outdoor dining area. You’ll also enjoy a large outdoor shower and plenty of space to spread out.

Indoor Comforts
Inside, Moondancer offers three beautifully designed levels:

Ground Level:
Your entertainment zone awaits with a stylish rec room featuring a pool table, Bluetooth stereo, and a large smart TV with streaming & HDMI hookup. This level also includes a kitchenette with a full fridge and microwave, a laundry room, and two bedrooms (one bunkroom with en-suite bath and one with a smart TV). Step directly out to the pool and hot tub from the sliding glass doors.

Mid Level:
This quieter floor features three more bedrooms, a cozy den/office, and two full baths. The main bedroom has a private bath and deck access. A second bedroom includes a bay window and smart TV. The den is perfect for reading or remote work and includes a large dog crate suitable for a bigger pup. There’s also a foyer library and access to the second-level deck with pool views.

Top Level:
Bright and open, the top floor is the heart of the home. Gather for meals in the spacious dining area, cook in the fully stocked kitchen with granite counters and a large island, or relax in the living room with new sofas, a smart TV, DVD player, and surround sound. This level also has a half bath and a primary bedroom with an en-suite bath and private balcony. Enjoy ocean breezes and partial sound views from the wraparound deck.

Community Perks:
Guests have access to Monteray Shores amenities including an outdoor pool, kiddie pool, fitness center, tennis and basketball courts, playground, nature trails, a private sound-side pier, and a boat launch.

Spring Getaway

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Moondancer. The Hot tub was amazing! The property was close to the grocery store, restaurants and attractions. Only cons were: cleanliness and some minor repairs were needed. Would visit again!wereweneededneeded.neededWin

It’s “Fine”

Close to beach and main town center. Pretty sunset viewing near clubhouse, clubhouse amenities very nice. Big open eating area and living room space.

Lovely stay!

My family and I really enjoyed this home! It was the perfect size and very comfortable. It is only a quick drive to the beach and plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen area as well as linens were very well stocked. The sound system was great as well! My biggest piece of constructive feedback would be to check and see what the housecleaners are using the clean the floors. They were incredibly slick (like falling hazard slick). Several of us slipped, including my kids. No injuries or anything major, but it would definitely be a problem if someone fell the wrong way.

Huge, Beautiful, Comfortable Space for Our Family

We absolutely loved our stay at Moondancer!! It was clean, cozy and has tons of space to spread out. We especially loved the big blue couch and the hot tub! Corolla was a fun place to explore, and the beaches were lovely. Highly recommend this home for your next family vacation!

Beautiful but older home

This house was a spider sanctuary! It’s an older home with some really great updates, floors, kitchen, family room couch, bathrooms all looked recently updated and were very nice! Air conditioning was amazing and proud bed very cool on hot days. The hot tub looked new. Lots of beach items in garage which came in handy. The Cons, TONS of bugs around the pool deck and some inside as well. The pool deck was very dirty and desperately needed basic landscaping. We cleaned it ourselves the first day. The patio furniture was so old that it just wouldn’t wipe clean. The spiderwebs that we cleaned away every day came back every day. The outside decking was in very bad shape. My niece got a splinter almost immediately. It needs to be completely replaced for safety. It was not usable. Too many mature wooded areas immediately around the house. Hopefully the updates will continue to be made and this house will be better because it has so much potential! The walk to the beach is very long and not possible for small children. Driving to the 4x4 beach was much better (weekly pass from visitor center required but worth it). Overall it served it’s purpose for our family vacation. If more updates were made and the bug problem were addressed, we would stay there again!

Moondancer

We enjoyed our stay at this house. However compared to other homes we found it not clean , broken towel racks, deck needed painted and boards replaced, a hole in garage wall. It advertised as 4 car parking but we couldn’t use garage and barely got 3 vehicles in driveway. Internet not adequate. TVs we’re good. Room were nice. Air conditioning good. Probably time for mattress upgrade. Beach and pool supplies were good. Loved the pool. So not all bad. Thank you

Wonderful House

We loved this home! It had all the amenities that anyone could need, enough space for everyone, and plenty of fun things to do!! The pool and hot tub were so relaxing... the pool table was a hit... and the kitchen was the perfect size and layout to cook and serve large group meals! The beach and many activities were not far at all. The beach and pool items already at the house were VERY convenient too. We would love to stay here again!!

We’ve had better

Over all it is a nice place and spacious. Pool is a good size for a large group. We were however disappointed with a few things. Check in is at 4, we arrived at 4:10 to find the property had not been cleaned -housekeeping arrived at 4:30 and informed us it would take approximately 2 hours. Some of the pool furniture was damaged/destroyed. The grills were filthy. The laundry room doors had been placed to the side and housekeeping said maintenance would be over to install them, maintenance never arrived. Those are the items that stand out the most, there were others, but miner in comparison.

Overpriced based on poor condition

On arrival July 25 at around 5 PM, we were immediately struck with the general lack of cleanliness. Dust bunnies throughout that we were forced to clean; red blankets covered in dog hair that we needed to wash in order to use them and generally things that did not meet the standards that were outlined in the instructions provided by Corolla Vacations. However, because of the supposed extra need to disinfecting because of Covid we decided to take on these tasks. The deck on the top floor was a disaster that was so bad none of the children (aged 4 to 15) were allowed outside. Nails were protruding. The railing was very shaky even with the small brace that was added. Bear in mind that this was on the top floor. Should it give way someone would fall to a cement floor two levels down. The furniture had moss growing on it that seemed to die off when I used a cleaning wipe. Spider webs were everywhere. Because of these issues we were concerned that the house was not properly disinfected. For the first hour my daughter spent an hour disinfecting everything that we would be touching. Not something that we wanted to tackle after 10 hours of driving for a vacation. We understood that comforters were removed because of Covid but most of the blankets provided were not only covered in dog hair but also had holes and were in poor condition. Our primary reason for renting this particular house was the pool, hot tub and refrigerators on two levels. Given the need to social distance, we decided to have food delivered to the house and cook instead of going out. The one refrigerator on the main kitchen leaked water onto our food, some of which had to be discarded. The door on the pool level one never stayed closed so we had to prop a chair against it, which meant that the smaller children could not get drinks without an adult opening the door. On Wednesday (midweek with 3 days to go) we received a call that the hot tub was going to be removed because it did not work (which ii did) but a replacement was not do to be delivered until the following week. I was asked my opinion which was leave it until our rental was up. I was told I would get a return call which I never did but at the same time I informed the called from Corolla Vacations that the half bathroom door was locked. I was told someone would come over. That never happened. On Friday, my wife got a call saying that the owner was sending someone to remove the hot tub that day.
