Charming Cottage hideaway in the NW Seattle neighborhood of Crown Hill, with easy access to all the best Seattle has to offer. Includes fully-fenced backyard. Newly constructed Casita in backyard. Just 10 minutes from the lively Ballard neighborhood or Greenwood, just 15-20 minutes from Downtown Seattle. Close to Woodland Park Zoo, Golden Gardens Park, Shilshole Bay, Ballard Locks, and much more. The trailhead into Carkeek Park (with beachfront access) is just 1/2 mile away.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at this home in a lovely neighborhood on a quiet street. Everything about the place is exactly as promised online. Stocked with coffee & spices in the kitchen, soap, shampoo and an abundance of towels in the bathroom, this is one of the most well-stocked VRBO's we have ever stayed in. We enjoyed coffee in the sunny back yard every morning, and TV in the living room at night. We had an issue with the TV on the first night, so I texted the owner with a question. Within 5 minutes he called me and resolved the issue. The owners are friendly and responsive. We will definitely be returning to this property for future visits.
I enjoyed my time here. It was the perfect space for a writing retreat. The house was clean and comfortable, the neighborhood quiet and it is minutes from Carkeek park. Would definitely recommend.
This was the perfect place to relax and unwind after all our wedding activities this past week! All the comforts of home and a beautiful backyard to grill and chill!
We had a wonderful stay at Dennis and Martieâs beautiful Ballard home. This home was well equipped and the cleanliness was second to none. We look forward to staying at Dennis and Martieâs again when we visit Seattle. Highly recommend staying at this beautiful Ballard oasis.
Took a long weekend to visit our daughter and stayed in this cottage. It was perfect for us! Denis and Martie were fabulous hosts. The home is clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. âïžâïžâïžâïžâïž
My mother (who has limited mobility) and my niece stayed here while visiting Seattle. Only a couple of steps to get in, otherwise all one level which can be difficult to find in Seattle. Very happy with the rental!
Home was very clean, odor free and updated. Nice sized kitchen with many amenities. Comfortable king bed with soft sheets/ bedding. Older home and floors creaked in spots. Could hear tenants talking in downstairs apartment on occasion.
Our stay was very nice, the place had everything and more. The issue we had was with the checkin, didnât get an email and couldnât reach owner by phone( tried 3 times). Finally called VRBO to get access.would recommend not having expensive glasses and dishes. Would also recommend not having so many signs all over the unit, overkill!
Felt Like Staying in a China Shop, but Well-Appointed
There are a lot of signs, including a sign stating the replacement prices for each dish in the kitchen, despite the fact that property damage insurance is required by the host. As a result, it is hard to feel welcome in the house. The way the signs are written sounds like you could ruin things with a simple mistake. One example is the instruction to "please FOLD the bedspread. Do not bundle or ball up, as this might disengage the inside batting and ruin the bedspread" (emphasis in original).
My main complaint is that the listing doesn't mention that this is the top floor apt in a two-apartment home. I look for this information when I am booking VRBOs, because I have three children and I hate reminding them the whole trip not to stomp around, which I did this week. I passed up condos that would have fit our needs better just because I couldn't tell what floor they were on, so this was disappointing. The other apt was mentioned in the host email that I got a week after I booked, but I didn't read this email in detail until just before arrival because I assumed that it was just arrival info.
On arrival day, I looked for instructions on the app, but they weren't there. The host email had it, but parking info wasn't clear - we thought we could park in the driveway, which is part gravel, but were chewed out for using it. We were unsure whether the gravel shoulder was a parking spot.
The property has everything you could request, like shampoo. Unpleasant interactions with host.
Lots of light and well equipped home. Very quite in the surrounding neighborhood. The property is nicely landscaped and its location to the sights and sounds of Ballard excellent. Great jumping off point for day trips in the Seattle area.
The small house was nicely appointed, cozy and comfortable. We were away when Mrs Binkly dropped by to introduce herself. Our schedule of sight seeing took up most of our time but when there we were quite impressed with reading material, a well equipped kitchen and bath. My only wish was to better understand how to operate the tvâs. Thank you for the reminder notes which we found very helpful. Overall we had a good time.
