Chris was really easy to work with and very prompt on requests. The home is very conveniently located and within walking distance to downtown. We would certainly stay here again.
The house was in a perfect location, we really enjoyed downtown Boyne City and the beach. We were in town for a wedding at The Lavender Hill Farm, which was only 10 mins away- FYI. Lots of sleeping space but only one bathroom which makes it hard to all get ready. House could be updated but it did the trick.
Very clean with lots of beds. Could have used more pots and pans in kitchen otherwise we had everything that we needed. Location was excellent close to downtown and beach.
This stay was great for kids because they had a lot of freedom on where to sleep. Also, they loved building a fire every nite. Location was close to water and stores.
Chris was amazing to work with. He was very attentive to me contacting him.
The house was very, very clean.
The location was great - we walked downtown several times.
We fit everyone in the living room for games and that's what we cared about!
Would stay here again.
We found the description exactly as was stated. Communication was quick with the owner. We loved the location because we walked to the beach both days. Quiet, pretty neighborhood very close to downtown.
We had a great stay here! A quick girlsâ trip with kids, teens, and adults.
Boyne City is walkable from here but we drove, and took day trips to Petoskey and Charlevoix easily. The home was clean and well stocked. It is slightly lacking in curb appeal, but the inside is nicely updated, comfortable, and again-clean and super cute! It was nice to have smart TVs in each room, the AC was powerful, and the water pressure in the shower was amazing.
We enjoyed ourselves comfortably and would definitely stay here again!
The property served our purposes for a short stay. Very clean and pleasant furnishings. Having only one rather small bathroom was OK for our party of 3 adults. I can't imagine how a larger group would fare. I suggest that window coverings that completely cover all the windows should be provided.
While the home has some bright spots, mostly the location, when I read in the description- âThis home is not super fancy like the Marriott but itâs a great get away, super clean and cozyâ
I knew it wasnât going to be anything special, but unfortunately this house failed to meet those tempered expectations.
The primary issue was the cleanliness of the house or lack thereof. First walking in we noticed it was barely surfaced clean, definitely hasnât been deep cleaned in months. The floors were just ok, with dirt pushed to the edges, barely dusted; window sills were filled with dust, bugs and paint chips, which considering the age of the house and windows, likely contain lead. In the bathroom, the shower curtain was moldy and hair was left in the tub. All wall vents, registers, returns are disgusting and caked with dirt and dust.
Additionally the house, specifically the upper bedroom, had a musty urine odor, which we eventually pinpointed the source as a wet Pull-up Diaper under one of the beds.
Along with the sills being dirty, there were other concerns with the windows with many being painted shut, others being broken and taped and one in the living room missing a pane all together and covered with plastic wrap (there was a storm window in place thankfully). Honestly these would probably be minor things that you would usually laugh off and chalk up to being an older house, but were heightened by our dissatisfaction with the less than clean state we found the house.
This served as our home base as we made excursions to Charlevoix, Petoskey and Boyne. We were extremely pleased with the amenities and comfort; the home has everything you need - roomy LR, good kitchen, good outdoor space. Location can't be beat, walk to beach and longer pleasant walk to downtown. The owner was very accommodating. AC reaches the 1st and 2nd floor BR's really well (put the kids up on the 3rd floor and use the fans). Because of its age, there are nonconforming stairs, a couple of smaller door openings, and a couple of level changes between rooms you have to get used to, so take care with little kids, seniors and very tall people. We are so pleased and thankful to have found a house that fit our needs in our budget; it was the only way we were able to make this trip for a family wedding.
Property is as described. Of course another bathroom would be great, but as mentioned there was plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure.
The location to downtown and the beach is a short walk or drive. Very convenient location. The owner responded very quickly to questions and based on previous reviews sounds like he continuously will be improving on the property. Plenty of place to stay and the beds were comfortable. Visit boyne city!
We had a 5 night stay here late March, with 2 adults and 2 small children/babies. We chose this property since it was the lowest priced for 3 BR and within walking distance to restaurants. We would stay here again solely due to price and location. It was generally clean and nicely updated. So with that in mind, I do have some constructive feedback.
The curtains in bedrooms are basically non-existent. I couldnât imagine during the summer months when there is early sun. They are so shear they might as well not even be there. My suggestion would be to get curtains that block sun in the bedrooms.
A few hours into check in both my husband and I began feeling ill (headaches, nausea, stinging in our sinuses). We are big candle/perfume people so smell normally doesnât affect us, but the amount of air fresheners in the home was truly too much. We had to close some down and started feeling better after the fake smell went away.
It would be nice to have rugs in the shower/bathroom vanity that are more intended for bathroom use than outdoor and can be thrown in the laundry every turnover. Our family had dirty feet after using the shower because the rug was quite dirty.
Knowing the COVID times, I found it odd there was not any hand soap at the kitchen sink so I had to buy my own.
The amount of paper plates and paper towels was very nice and easy, but it would be nice to have a recycle box or bin within the kitchen.
There was also old clothing left within the bed so I wasnât sure if the bed was cleaned prior or just re made.
The updates were nice but it would be even better if the decor matched.
The amenities listing says cable/satellite and while Netflix was appreciated, I would probably remove this from the listing as it is misleading. My husband was disappointed he was not able to watch March Madness on either basic TV channel (CBS) as well as cable sports channel.
I would also have clear directions on the wifi name and password for guests.
The property was close to Boyne mountain for skiing.
Very clean, cute lake house.
For a large group a second bathroom was really needed. That was the only negative to this property.
Highly recommended this rental.
