Welcome to our secluded Farmhouse on the Prairie! This house and the land surrounding it was homesteaded in the 1880's by our Danish ancestors. The house has been updated over the decades, and now has an eclectic feel, with items from our travels, antiques and midcentury pieces. Our cozy bedrooms, fully outfitted kitchen, rec room basement and new deck will be sure to make you feel at home. The Kansas prairie boasts some of the prettiest sunsets and sunrises you could ask for!

Family Reunion Breakout

We rented this house as a place for our branch of the family to stay during a family reunion. Its an excellent farm house for a family to wind down and hang out.

Peaceful and Quaint

Picturesque Historic Farmhouse

We most enjoyed the expansive space in & outside for our family of seven. Beds &bedding were very comfortable. We took with us nice memories staying in this historic home. Also, good communication with Property Manager.

Delightful Farm House

Very neat and restful place and plenty of space for dogs to run. Great place for a family get-together. If you plan on eating out all your meals restaurants are about 20 min. away. All the bedrooms are on the second floor, in case you have trouble stairs. I would stay there again if in the area.

Pleasant Farm Stay

This Kansas farmhouse provided a lush quiet setting for our intergenerational family gathering in early June, 2022. The 4 bedrooms upstairs accommodated 6 adults and 3 children, who adopted the basement as their special play space. The single bath upstairs for all 4 bedrooms was an inconvenience, but we managed with the lower bathrooms. The house and furnishings had country charm, but the BEST feature of the house was the large shaded deck where family gathered to visit, dine, and enjoy the lovely yard, fields, and wildlife! The wifi and all appliances worked well. The property manager responded quickly to my questions, and made every effort to make our stay pleasant.

Very quaint cute farm house.

We had a little trouble finding it with our GPS. The farm house is a cute typical kansas farm house with all beds upstairs. Decorated with unique features from flea market finds which we all enjoyed. Pool table and games down stairs were a hit the first night. We also enjoyed the wild horses roaming the property and the two country dogs that showed up every day.

Good but easily improved

Overall, it was an ok stay. We arrived after dark which affected a few things. Mainly, the light switches upstairs did not turn on lights. We found lamps, then realized not plugged in, then realized we had to find a bulb. A few welcoming touches would have been appreciated - tins for coffee but no coffee, no ice. The cleanliness of the important things was good, but the carpets could have used a good vacuuming as well as a mop to the kitchen floor. The vegetation close to the house was overgrown. However, there was a generous amount of towels, rags, and good toilet paper (always a plus!). Lots of labels but they were inside cabinets and drawers. Games, movies, books were available. Logistics-wise it's good to know the upstairs bathroom is through a bedroom and separated with a curtain. There was also a camera that faced the porch. We liked having our own space, and the views were great.

Our stay was amazing! The house was big enough for our family. There was plenty of room and toys for our kids to play! Peaceful in the country.

The owner is friendly. The flies was horrible at this location we are talking hundreds dead on bottoms of curtains and bedding beds uncomfortable sink in the middle. The farmers or neighbors was weird

Rural rental

If you want a rural experience, this is a great place. Your typical old style 2 story farm house has Everything you need. If you’re looking for a posh chic updated city place with restaurants within walking distance, this is not for you. However, this is a great place to just relax and not have to enjoy good friends while getting away from the city.

Great stay at a country property

My family and I had a wonderful two night stay at this great country home. The property had a lot of fun options for the kids including the trampoline, pool, foosball, and all the land to explore. There was plenty of room to play frisbee and soccer. The house was well supplied as well. It was a great two-night getaway for us. Beautiful stay. Highly recommended!

Amazing and peaceful

Our only concern was of our own doing! We didn’t realize our cell service wouldn’t work and didn’t realize quite how rural the area was so we would recommend having printed directions to this amazing property. Once we got there, we didn’t want to leave. Fireflies by night, beautiful sun and quiet by day, and the neighbors horses even passed through on their way to graze. Couldn’t have picked a better place to decompress.

Beautiful property, relaxing weekend!

Had a great weekend with friends in this funky farmhouse! Property is beautiful and fun to walk around and check out. Great patio for sitting and enjoying the sunset and scenic views. Comfortable and clean house. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely Retreat

This home and grounds are absolutely wonderful. It is somewhat of a cross between a museum and your grandmother's house. There are many new and interesting furnishings to see, but the house also feels familiar and comforting. The surroundings are also gorgeous and calming. You are definitely off the beaten path, so be prepared to enjoy the quiet isolation. Everything was clean and organized, but because this is a 150-year-old house, there are obviously nooks and crannies that are not spotless. Come for a lovely and unique experience.
