This was our favorite stay of a 12 day trip! We originally booked it for our last 2 nights but then realized we'd be 3 hours south in the redwoods so James graciously refunded our second night stay. We all were enchanted by this beautiful property and darling cabin.
Absolutely beautiful and they have done an incredible job of building these cabins with minimal damage to the forest that surrounds them. Very peaceful. We wish we could have stayed longer.
This property is almost unbelievable - from the setting, interior and exterior, one of the best (and most accurately described). Thereâs nothing that says Vacation in the Redwoods like the Fern Hook cabins. Down to the last details, I wouldnât change a thing and weâll def be back!!
This was the perfect little cabin for our Spring break Redwoods trip! We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the peaceful setting and convenient location. Itâs just outside of Crescent City with easy access to the surrounding attractions. We highly recommend this property if youâre looking for more of an immersive adventure than a hotel, and more creature comforts than camping!
It was set back in the woods but maybe 100 ft from road so at time traffic noise was a bit much. Property was very clean, sofa however was not comfortable and bed was set a bit too high. Lighting was very bright inside. Could use indirect lights. Fan lights not working and fan is very dusty. It was nice to have a kitchenette, but I think they forgot to restock coffee filters.
Had such a great time at this cabin. Great location, cabin was just as listed if not better. Had everything we needed to cook a small meal, and the bed was so comfortable.
Incredible location in the redwoods. The cabin is brand new and very comfortable. It is the perfect place to use as a home base to explore the Redwoods or simply to retreat to a private cabin amongst gorgeous trees. It is well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We plan to return and highly recommend this stay.
I was worried that the other cabins would be too close and have little privacy, but I was wrong!! The cabin was tucked in the beautiful trees, cushioned with the local foliage of ferns. It was truly perfectly nestled, quiet, and so peaceful. I would recommend this as the ideal place if you want a retreat in nature to recharge your internal battery. We only booked one night, but I wish we had stayed longer. It was healing and therapeutic!
I rented a one bedroom cabin, arranged among other semi-hidden cabins in the same development. It is a real nice place, with trees and ferns all around. The cabins are new and very clean. Mine had lots of windows all around, a nice kitchenette with a nice selection of items. The cabin is furnished and decorated in a sparse fashion, but this allows the wonderful surround of redwoods to predominate. The bath had hot water, the bedroom was comfortable and cozy.
Two minor detracting details; there isn't very much storage, and the traffic on the nearby highway can be heard, but it is muffled inside cabin. Also no TV, but who needs it?
During our stay we saw no one else on Lovett Loop; while we heard nothing but peace and quiet all around us in our own forest grove. The cabin is small, as stated on the site, but has used the spaced so effectively it feels larger. Hooks on the walls are plentiful and we used them all. Plenty of counter space to cook great meals in the sweet, simple kitchen with everything a cook needs while we were there for two days. The picnic table out back is a delightful place to play games in the afternoon. (we did bring our own games) The front porch chairs are a very relaxing place at the end of a day's hike in Jed Smith State Park just down the road or for our morning coffee. We are planning to return next summer because we adore it so much. James readily responded to our needs of which there were few.
It was a nice place to get away, but the cabim had a distinct mildew smell. We tried airing the cabin oit but it did not help. We later noticed mold growong on the outside roofing of the cabin, near the door area. The pan provided for cooking had a handle that was so loose it was almost fallong off, which we were able to fix ourselves. The area was nice and the overall cleanliness of the cabin was great, but the mold/mildew sotuation was concerning.
This tiny cabin in the redwoods blew us awayânot just with its charm and comfort, but with how thoughtfully it was built. Itâs clear great care was taken to leave the surrounding forestâtowering trees, lush ferns, and other native plantsâcompletely untouched. We felt immersed in nature without sacrificing any of the comforts of home. The cabin had everything we needed and more. We loved being so close to Jedediah Smith State Park, and coming back to such a peaceful, quiet space each evening was a dream. A perfect balance of nature and comfortâcanât recommend it enough!
Everything was great, close to everything but far enough away in the woods. A bit of noise from the road but the heavy rain helped cover that up all night. Overall great experience staying here!
