Beautiful multi-centuries old building in charming neoghborhood
Antonella was a great host! She met us upon arrival and helped us get acclimated and gave great restaurant suggestions. I would definitely recommend this apartment for any couple or threesomw
Antonella made our stay easy and her place in Trastevere made it easy to access sites, is surrounded by great restaurants and shopping, and was just a joy to stay in.
Would highly recommend
The apartment is clean, well appointed, large and located in the quiet end of Trastevere close to Isola Tiberina & across the river from the Forum. The owner Antonella is very welcoming and helpful.
Great restaurants and bars nearby & next door to the Basilica di Santa Cecilia. A must visit especially the crypt & chapel under the church.
Lovely apartment in historic neighborhood and close to everything, we walked almost everywhere. Lots of restaurents nearby.
The apartment is beautiful in an historic building, but is large and beautifully laid out. It is very comfortable with comfortable sofas and bed.. Antonia recommended a parking garage not too far away.
This apartment is so charming and well stocked with everything you could need. Itâs an easy walk to lots of great restaurants and bars. Antonella the property manager is very friendly and welcoming and extremely responsive. She even assisted us with arranging transportation from the airport and was waiting to greet us with a bottle of Italian wine when we arrived. We will be staying here for all our future trips to Rome!
Spacious & comfortable base away from the âtourism centralâ parts of Rome; the hostessâs restaurant/cafe recommendations nearby were uniformly excellent. Some noise from the adjacent Piazza but double-glazing & air-con dealt adequately with that - letâs face it, if youâre looking for peace & quiet, donât come to Rome.
Good location, close to excellent restaurants. The decor was beautiful. Kitchen was modern; however, it was too sunny between 4pm and 7pm to prepare food. Need a blind or curtain for the kitchen window. Otherwise, it was great!!
This property is wonderfully located in the Trastevere neighborhood, close to restaurants, coffee houses, shopping and close to the historic Santa Cecilia church.
Itâs also around the corner from one of Anthony Bourdainâs favorite restaurants- La Sparita. Great pasta !!!
Thereâs also a lively restaurant downstairs.
We enjoyed the spacious flat with all the amenities. And Antonella was a pleasure to deal with.
The check in process was wonderful. There was a partial train strike our arrival day and they very kindly adjusted our check in much to our benefit.
The interiors are lovely, and comfortable, quiet, like staying in a friend's place. Comfortable and interesting furniture, lovely prints on the walls, generally a beautiful place.
Just a couple of head's up for others. There is an elevator but there are a few stairs just after the front door to the building and a few more after the elevator, just so you know. There are also three stairs that are between the kitchen and the small breakfast area, that last step is a bit higher.
I love having two bathrooms! The ACs work great, one in living area and one in the bedroom, also central heating, but we didn't need that in September. Lots of space to put clothes away.
We go to Rome about once a year and this is the most comfortable place we have stayed. The views out of the windows were lovely too, classic Rome.
When you check the reviews of this apartment, youâll find they are all five stars, or 10 out of 10.
This review will be no different.
So, really, you donât even need to read this.
Because we will simply repeat what everyone else says. The apartment is perfect. Itâs beautifully furnished, super comfortable with two bathrooms, a washer and a dryer, and sits overlooking one of the most charming piazzas in one of the most charming neighborhoods in Trastevere. There is a fair amount of âItalianoâ and âVolareâ wafting from the restaurants below, and if you donât find it as romantic as we did, simply close the triple-paned windows.
Honestly, I wish I could recommend it less so I could be sure to book it again.
The only very small hitch was trying to contact the owner, the very accommodating Antonella, on the day we were arriving - but this was as much our fault as the odd bouncing text chains.
I have rented a few apartments in Rome over the years and this is the only one around which I would make my schedule.
Carciofi, puntarella, and porcini were in their prime when we visited Rome last month. âOttobrata romanaâ is the Italian phrase that Antonella taught us for describing these days of gloriously clear light, high barometric pressure, and blissful temperatures that follow the retreat of summer heat. Antonellaâs Trastevere apartment that we rented for the month of October was the perfect home base for adventuring into this seasonal splendor.
The historic piazza where the apartment is located, once a center for river commerce and trade, is just a few steps from the Tiber and close to several bus stops. A couple of one-month transit passes were all that Russell and I needed to hop on a bus and travel to any destination in greater metropolitan Rome. Tucked out of the way from major tourist attractions, the atmosphere here in Piazza dei Mercanti is mellow and unhurried during the day. The pace picks up in the evenings with a lively restaurant scene, but these trattorias close punctually and their well-fed and exuberant patrons reliably disperse before midnight.
Antonella's apartment is nicely appointed and furnished with her own beautiful antiques. The place is immaculately clean and well-maintained as it is well-worn. Ample windows provide generous cross-ventilation when they are open, as well as effective sound insulation when the restaurant crowd gets rowdy. Antonella is a gracious and knowledgeable host, always instantly responsive at the drop of a line of text.
Charming and ideal apartment hidden away in Trastevere!
My husband and I stayed in Antonella's glorious apartment for 3 nights and were blown away by this gem! If you want an authentic Roman experience couched in comfort and beauty, this is for you. Located on the first floor (with a lift), the apartment is spacious with high ceilings & large rooms, it is immaculately clean, and tastefully adorned with beautiful antiques and works of art. Beyond comfortable, you'll relax on couches & stuffed chairs in the living room, and have plenty of seating in the dining room and kitchen for meals. The bedroom is also beautifully furnished, the bed is comfortable & we slept well there. All linens & towels are in great shape. There are two bathrooms w/showers & plenty of hot water; and Antonella has outfitted the kitchen & space with every convenience, appliance (dish washer, laundry), utensil, blanket, etc to make your stay easy. It is really a divine, beautiful space. There are great books to peruse on the shelves if you put your feet up, and a lovely bottle of wine was waiting for us. We were there in mid-May, & found the apartment quiet & peaceful! Close to everything, we walked all over Rome although there's plenty of great restaurants, markets, and historic sites just outside the door. Antonella was immediately responsive, communicated w/us easily, and arranged our transportation to FCO as well as gave great tips & advice for the stay. We only wish that we had more time to spend on this trip, but we will return! Thank you, Antonella!
My husband and I stayed at Antonella's beautiful Trastevere apartment for almost 5 weeks and couldn't have been happier! Our host, Antonnella was excellent to work with. COVID forced us to reschedule our first reservation and Antonella was able to accommodate our new dates. She is an excellent communicator and answered my many questions quickly. The apartment was exactly as described in the VRBO listing and the photographs. Antonnella had her daughter meet us upon our arrival and provided a tour of our new "home away from home" complete with a printed list recommendations for restaurants and amenities in the neighbourhood . Antonnella also welcomed us with a complimentary bottle of wine and sparkling water in the fridge. The place was sparkling clean. Antonnella helped arrange ground transportation for us to and from the airport and also arranged for someone to come in and clean the apartment during our stay. She was always just a phone call /text away... very quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. The two bathrooms and one bedroom were perfect for us and actually provided more room than our condo back home. The location is perfect! So many restaurants within walking distance. Grocery stores and tourist sites were within walking distance. Other than taking a taxi to the train station we walked everywhere in Rome. It was a short 10 minute walk to the Jewish Quarter and 20 minutes to the Colosseum. The Vatican was around 40 minutes. Loved it!
This was our first time with a Vrbo. All of the reviews of this lovely apartment in Trastevere said this is the one. Antonella and her son Alberto, made us feel totally at ease. So much is within walking distance and Trastevere itself is worth digging in. So many restaurants and shops nearby. Itâs so lively (and loud in the evening due to the fun place downstairs), but quiets down completely so sleeping is not a problem. The apartment was clean and comfortable. We couldnât have asked for a better first experience.
This historic and charming apartment was the perfect home base for our trip to Rome! It's close to all the best restaurants and bars and walkable to the heart of Rome! Our wonderful host, Antonella, met us when we arrived and even had a bottle of sparking wine ready to celebrate our anniversary! She also gave us GREAT recommendations and was very responsive. The apartment was just lovely! Lots of space and beautifully decorated, with the just the right amount of modern amenities. We loved our stay here!
We enjoyed the apartment particularly the location, away from tourists. The lack of a nearby supermarket was a bit of a problem till we found a nearby alimentari. We loved the very tasteful decor in the apartment!
