The location is great so as the place it self. Clean and spacious. Kitchen has everything you need. Hot tub and pool is a great amenity after day on the slopes.
The bedrooms were large, all with attached full bathrooms, and private entrances. The living room has (2) sofas, and the dining room has a large, solid wood table and chairs. We have ages from 3 yr old grandchildren, parents and grandparents. The bus stop is across the street. We would definitely stay again!
Condo was just as advertised. Perfect for our group. The pool and hot tubs were great. Right on the bus route, very easy to get around. Working with Vail Realty was very simple and efficient.
Walked home in ski boots from lionshead. Can see the condo plain as day from that side of the mountain. Easy to get to. Great accomdations. And super quiet condo!
Overall this is a nice, clean unit and we enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is a little light on utensils, etc. (no measuring cups). The location is awesome; right across the street from the bus stop. Property management folks were stellar! We had an evening issue that required their attention and after a call, the property manger was knocking on our door 7:30 PM on a Sunday evening. Pleasantly impressed!
We had 6 adults working remote/skiing for 10 days. The condo was big enough for all of us to work including up to 4 conference simultaneous conference calls. The internet service was not an issue. After work we often walked to Lions Head (a shuttle was also available). The walk was an easy 15 minutes since all of us stored our equipment at Vail Tech ($10/night).
It was a great location. But condo is old and needs updating. Needs light bulbs. The kitchen items are all over the place. Some things dirty with food. Carpet is awful. Would really like the extra linens and blankets it plastic so you know they are cleaned!!
Sorry for the dumping. We had a good time. Just letting you know.
Spacious, clean and comfortable condo with plenty of bedrooms
My two 20-something kids and I spent a week at the condo to ski at Vail/Lionshead and 1 day at Beaver Creek. The condo is very comfortable and as advertised. Beds were comfy, place was very clean. Kitchen well stocked (though fridge could use updating, e.g., a water dispenser would be nice). The hot tubs and pool were a nice feature. The management company is very helpful and super responsive. They also let us check in a day early to a different condo on fairly short notice as a snowstorm was coming on the day of our intended arrival. (That condo was not as updated as the one we moved into the next day, pictured here, as it is in need of repairs -- but we were very grateful to get in somewhere a day earlier than booked. And it was perfectly clean and just fine.) As others have noted, location is off of the north frontage road on the other side of the Hwy so you must either take the free shuttle and/or walk over the overpass footbridge into Lionshead. We took the shuttle to Sandstone School stop and then walked over the overpass every day. It's not that bad a distance, though at the end of the day, it is all uphill on the overpass! Highly, highly recommend leaving your skis at a valet or rental place in town. Our rental place, Ski Base in Lionshead (which I highly recommend) lets you keep your skis and poles there overnight for free. The unit is on 4th floor so there are a lot of stairs (there is an elevator that goes part way). We had a great stay at this condo!
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Not as pictured. Beware!
Iâll start by saying the location is great- a short walk across the pedestrian bridge to the slopes is perfect. However, the property is NOT as pictured. It simply wasnât clean. A blood stain on the comforter, a used bandaid stuck to the blanket we were going to use for our feet, moldy bathroom ceilings, a dirty towel from the last guest left on top of the washer, and baseboard heaters in disrepair are just the tip of the iceberg. Vail Realty was very responsive until they had our money- then they just stopped responding. I asked them to make it rightâŠthe day before we left they brought us a different comforter without bloodstains and sent someone to bleach the bathroom ceiling. Other than that, they were simply non-responsive. This could be a great property, but Vail Realty is not a great company to work with. As I said, they were very responsive until they got us checked in and got our money. After that, they simply refused to respond. I am beyond disappointed in this level of service, especially when compared to the last VRBO I stayed in at the Vail Base which was WONDERFUL and spotless. Lesson learned!
Five of us had the best week of skiiing and boarding at Vail and we loved staying at Breakaway West. We couldnât have had a better place to stay for the price! Free bus took 15min, really didnât need rental car. Condo was well stocked, clean, comfortable, easy parking, beautiful views. Hot tubs were clean and absolutely fantastic every night for recovering plus made new friends. If I was forced to find one negative it would be you still have to climb 2-3 stair cases to get to the elevator to then get to 4th floor, but you also have amazing views being a top floor unit so who cares unless you canât do some stairs! Thanks again and would love to stay here again next trip!
Roomy and comfortable, convenient to bus or to walk to Lionshead. A little noisy at night due to proximity of the highway but most Vail properties are near the highway. Could have used a couple more kitchen towels and there were no oven mitts, had to use towels for that. No paper towels either. First night we thought there was not much for silverware, plates or glasses but the next day we discovered a full dishwasher. It had been run so things were clean, just not put away. Overall, it was a great place for our group. The hot tub was very nice. We'll stay here again if it's available.
Location next to bus stop is nice. Kitchen is very sparsely equipped. Love seat in the living area would not have made the cut in my first apartment. Hot tubs were good, neighbors were friendly. TV is circa 2005. Busted screen door on its side on the balcony was pretty low-rent. Parking situation was bad for the single spot we got on-premise, and offsite parking for additional vehs was expensive and very inconvenient. Communications with Vail Realty were answered promptly.
Great location and easy check in and check out. Kitchen has bare minimum. No spices, no oil or butter but we made do. Only thing that wouldâve helped is having access to more than one parking spot.
This place was perfect for 6-8 people! Check in was very easy, short 5 min ride to the mountain with the shuttle stop outside and a heated pool and hot tub to top off a nice ski day! Highly recommend this place!
for the money, this property and location were top notch. Good amenities, parking and a short walk/drive to Lionshead. Communication with the property manager was excellent and they were overly friendly and accommodating.
