Great comfy place to stay in Ipswich! My father in law is from Ipswich - he visits every year for the Topsfield Fair. So glad we found this place to stay in Ipswich so we can join him. House was clean & had everything we needed to make our trip greatâlooking forward to next year !
Beautifully remodeled 1880 Victorian keeping the authenticity and charm with some modern touches. The grounds are lovely with ample parking. We were visiting family for 3 weeks & the location was exactly in the middle of all.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Holly House! My sisters and I enjoyed a lovely long weekend in the surrounding area. Enjoyed long days and slept well in very comfortable beds. Owner was very responsive to inquiries. Holly House had everything we needed, clean and easy access. Many thanks for the wonderful stay!
This lovely apartment is only a mile from downtown and next to one of the best restaurants in Ipswich. It is very well stocked for cooking and there is an alcove and outside patio for eating. We only stayed two nights but hope to return for a longer stay.
This property is beyond perfect! The yard and private sitting area is well maintained and there is plenty of parking space. The interior was spotless and decorated with so much thought and the Victorian decor was cozy yet beautiful. Our hosts were easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions we had. On top of all the charm and elegance the home is located next door to a lovely historic restaurant with delicious food and tasty cocktails.
If we ever travel back to Ipswich we will be staying here again!
The apartment was clean, well kept, and in a convenient location to a number of amenities. There is a restaurant next store in case you dont want to drive the 2 minutes into the historic town center for dinner. Communication was clear and everything was smooth. We would definitely stay again if we are back in the area.
Holly House is a remodeled Victorian house. My brother and I were looking for a place with two bedrooms, and we were very comfortable with the two spacious rooms we found. The living room is a good place to relax, and we appreciated the full kitchen where we could do some cooking. The gardens surrounding the house are very pretty.
We were a bit concerned about the location along Linebrook Rd., but what traffic there was - Ipswich "rush hour" - didn't disturb us very much, and it was very quiet at night.
Holly House is quite close to the town center and is well situated for reaching the beaches, walking trails, restaurants and shopping. We were pleased that a grocery store was nearby.
We'd come back and would recommend the place to others.
Denise is very easy to communicate with and we appreciated her quick responses! Very noisy neighbors in upstairs unit was not great, but nothing can be done about inconsiderate people unfortunately.
Had business in Lynnfield, but didn't want to stay in a hotel. This lovely VRBO was well worth the 25-30 min. drive. It's a perfect location to explore, it was clean, had everything needed, and was absolutely charming. Will definitely stay here again if back in the area. Plan some time just to relax with your favorite beverage in the comfy den. While Hart House is a little out of my personal price range, I did have one of the best Old Fashioned ever at their Tavern bar (inside the same house at the restaurant). A local provided the tip, so I'm passing it along! So much to do so close to the home! Perfect combination!
We loved our stay. The town of Ipswich is beautiful and the location of this lovely home is within an easy drive of Salem and Gloucester.
The house is well equipped and decorated according to the age and style of the house. The shower was nice and powerful, which is always a plus.
The only improvements in our opinions were that the mattresses could do with replacing. They were very soft. Also the couch seats in the living room could be replaced/refilled. These small things did not take away from out stay. Thank you so much
The house was charming. Lots of windows made it bright and cheery, but at least one window was left unlocked (ground floor). It was clean, but there were a good number of ants in the kitchen around the dishwasher. The 3 window air conditioners adequately cooled the place, in spite of the ghastly hot weather we had while there. The restaurant next door was closed when we visited, so no review on the food. It was close enough to our accommodations that noise probably would have been an issue had it been open so it was just as well. Parking was great, close to shopping.
We stayed 5 nights for wedding festivities.
Pros: exceptionally clean, well equipped, lovely landscape
Cons: tired furnishings, odor in entry hall so we used back entrance, mattress uncomfortable, shower faucet failed and could not be shot off, toilet handle broke off in our hand, the glass shower door came off the track.
The owners responded within a half hour to our call for help and had the plumbing was repaired same day but I think the whole thing could have been avoided if their cleaning crew reported the problems prior to our arrival. No reimbursement was offered for our inconvenience.
Rented first floor for a quiet weekend as we were in town for a family wedding and the unit above had been rented by bride of another wedding same weekend for them to get readyâŠ10+ people were in the unit clopping about wedding photographer
Make professionals in and out with mound music all day was terrible as we read it was not to be used for an event âŠ..unacceptable as you should be vetting those that stay
If not for that horrible day you would be receiving a nice review
Amazing place! Amazing stay!
Relaxing, sunny, quiet, clean, comfortable and cozy! Beautifully decorated and nicely stocked with everything we needed!Â
The local area offered great restaurants, beautiful open spaces, farms - all minutes from Holly House!
We took our Nephew to the area because he is a huge history nut. The rental was perfect to get in and around Boston. We took the train in from Ipswhich which was super convenient. Highly recommend this rental.
We stayed in the first floor apartment of Holly House this trip. It was so comfortable and homey. We love that it is right next door to the Harte House restaurant. Thank you Denise for this great stay.
Great location to visit beaches, Newburyport and various museums. Nice apartment with comfortable beds and good sized rooms. Next door to the fabulous Hart House restaurant and close to downtown Ipswich. Denise was wonderful and checked on us during our stay to be sure we had all we needed. Beautiful backyard with grill and outdoor dining. Good for small family group.
This was a really great place to stay! Plenty of amenities, the bed and pillows were super comfortable in the kitchen is really well stocked. Easy walking to downtown if switch and a really great coffee shop right around the corner. Check-in was really easy. Great back patio. Denise checked in halfway through my stay and made sure I had everything that I needed. Highly recommend!
My husband and I purchased this beautiful Victorian 2 family home in Ipswich in 2019. We have been residents of Ipswich for more than 26 years! In fact, you will be right around the corner from our neighborhood when you go to Marini Farm for fresh produce and baked goods. We are very involved in our community with my Windhill Real Estate business and my husband, Nishan, having been a town selectman for the past several years. We are often nearby should you need anything. We are not new to the vacation rental business-we have another Premier Partner listing on Great Neck, Ipswich. You can check out our ratings on VRBO as a premier partner by search property # 763198 .
We immediately fell in love with the lovely gardens, convenient location and historic charm of this 1880 Victorian home. It reminded us of some of the New England Bed and Breakfasts one might see along the coast.
Our hope is to bring guests the charm of a Bed and Breakfast but with the space of a full dwelling including a fully equipped kitchen! Why share a bathroom with other guests and be confined to one bedroom while visiting the area when you can have the B & B charm WITH the privacy and space of a full apartment?
