We loved our stay at Rocky Woods Cabin. The setting is just beautiful and our four year old grandson loved climbing the big rock in front of the porch, picking blueberries and exploring the woods. We grownups loved our campfires coffee on the porch and listening and looking for birds. Our daily and easy to spot visitors were cedar waxwings, brown creepers and hummingbirds. The binder with local tips was very helpful and Alice was wonderfully responsive. The house is cozy and comfortable. The location in Corea is fantastic for exploring the downeast coast, Winter Harbor Tuesday farmers market, lobster buying at the dock in Corea and most especially almost daily visits to the Acadia lands at Schoodic Point. Vast rocky ocean-crashed tide-pool-filled Maine coast at its finest. We followed the Sundew Trail and had those rocks mostly to ourselves. A national treasure. Thank you Alice for sharing this magical place with us.
This property is beautiful, every detail thought out, relaxing, and restorative for our family of 5. We were able to explore the Schoodic Peninsula and Acadia all while having the freedom to cook in our own kitchen and relax at âhomeâ in the evenings. The host goes way above and beyond and responded immediately to any need or concern we had during our stay.
We spent 6 weeks of Summer here and loved everything about it. Down East Maine, the great weather, friendly people, access to Acadia, Schoodic, Bar Harbor, and many smaller harbor towns along the coast. The property was exactly what we wanted, secluded but close enough to get to everything. Fantastic cabin with all the amenities. We will be back.
This was our second stay at Rocky Wood Cabin. It is a beautifully rustic (but with all the modern amenities), low level lighting cabin that sits only a few minutes from the highway. It is a great place to relax, rejuvenate in nature, stargaze, read, play games and enjoy life. After our first visit, we knew we would want to stay again. Everything about the property is perfect. It is clean, comfortable, and feels like home. Alice and Kyle are very responsive and communicate all the details needed to enjoy the stay. Thank you to Alice and her husband for sharing their property and allowing those of us to live out our dream of living in the Maine Woods (even if it is just for a long weekend)!
Cabin was great overall and was evident that a lot of thought went into the details. My only complaint was that there was not much light in the bedrooms and was difficult to move around in the bedrooms to get dressed.
My wife and I had an amazing time at this cabin. The host is extremely accommodating. Everything you need is there. The cabin itself is private and gives you an immersive nature experience. We have stayed twice already and plan to again!
We were looking for a location to do a weekend reading retreat and this was absolutely perfect. The property was clean and cozy. The owner was wonderful and very communicative. We hope to stay again soon!
Alice and Kyle did an amazing job with the cabin! They thought of everything little detail from the amenities down to the decor! My husband and I were looking for a relaxing get away and Rocky Woods Cabin was just that and more! On top of that, Alice is an amazing Host! If youâre considering Rocky Woods Cabin, you wonât be disappointed, a little piece of heaven!
We walked in the door and said, "Wow"! It was decorated for Christmas and the tree was lit up. We felt like we were coming home!!! Alice responded very quickly to messages, Stewart (her husband) came and plowed the driveway, and Kyle was great answering questions before our arrival...also looking for a place for Christmas Eve dinner. The house was fully stocked with everything you would have in your own home. The stove is phenomenal. The beds had flannel sheets and warm duvet covers. (I always bring ours along because everywhere we stay ..in the winter..always have cotton sheets. I never needed to use ours.) We were able to relax and enjoy the scenery. I would highly recommend staying here, you won't regret it!!!
Whatâs fabulous property! The little tings most people donât consider where taken care of from top to bottom. We were lucky enough to spend a cozy three nights alone to explore the property and Bar Harbor. The cabin was even decorated for Christmas!
Such a great escape spot to have a relaxing vacation. The property is very clean and comfortable. No issues with anything at all, and owners were very communicative and professional. I would love to come back here one day!
My wife and I had an amazing stay at this cabin. The area is perfect for unplugging and getting some peace. The cabin also has everything you will need to be comfortable during your stay which make things less stressful.
The cabin was everything I could have hoped for and more. You can tell a lot of thought and care was put into making it a cozy home away from home. The grounds and trails around the cabin were beautifully maintained as well. I 100% recommend
We totally enjoyed our stay and it was just what we needed celebrate our anniversary and to wind down before the holiday craziness.
From the moment we stepped in, we so appreciated the attention to detail. The owners have thought of everything to make the stay here wonderful. The cabin is adorable and cozy and the property is beautiful.
We spent three of our days hiking in beautiful Acadia and the rest of the time just enjoying our time here reconnecting and relaxing. We took advantage of the hiking trail, fire pit, cornhole, coffee on the porch, and peaceful nights under the stars.
Our stay was everything we hoped it would be and the perfect way to enjoy Maine for the first time. We hope to come back again!
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was very peaceful and secluded. A comfortable place to come back to after a day of exploring. The host was excellent. We had communication throughout the entire rental process.
Alice and Kyle were tremendous hosts and were a pleasure to communicate with. The cabin was absolutely amazing , sparkling clean and the property was great to walk around. We thoroughly enjoyed our week spent at the cabin, Acadia national park, Schoodic Point, and exploring all the fishing villages. We really enjoyed the peace and serenity that the Cabin and its location provided and would definitely recommend it highly!
Thank you for a great vacation
Sharon and Mike
This was the best part of our Maine vacation
The home was so welcoming. We enjoyed watching the deer out by the fire pit the most.
Thank you for the relaxing experience
Two old ladies reconnected for our annual trip together. Forty years of friendship. The cabin was perfect in every way. The host thought about every detail and made our stay very comfortable.
This cabin was exactly what we wanted and needed as a family. Every need was anticipated, from bug spray to firewood, to cozy blankets and area travel books. We loved every minute of our stay and had the grand finale of the Milky Way on our last night (previous nigyts were cloudy)
We stayed at Rocky Wood Cabin at the beginning of July. The cabin was lovely and on a secluded property so we truly felt as though we were out in the woods. On a clear night, we could see the Milky Way. The hosts are incredible! So kind and responsive. They left us a generous treat basket our teens really enjoyed. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable.
We are a Maine couple that own a boat building business. Many years ago, we lived at this log cabin and brought our kids up in the Village of Corea by the Sea. Recently we had the opportunity to purchase this cabin on 40 acres. Since then, we have renovated the cabin and restored it to its unique charm. We are happy to share our home with travelers and know that each stay will be unique.
Rocky Woods Cabin is on 40 beautiful Maine acres that include trails and wildlife. The cabin has old fashion pumpkin pine floors, stone fireplace with gas stove, cozy bedrooms, open living room with warmth, and lots of kitchen comforts. The Cabin and travelers have access to waterfront, beach roaming, and kayaking. Fire pit on location with grill set up and wonderful sunsets.
Relaxation. Quiet hiking and wildlife sightings. Lobsterfishing tours close by. Bicycling country roads or bike paths close by. Not far from Acadia National Park and recreation...but far enough away to leave the traffic behind.
