This was our 2nd stay at this property. The location is perfect if you are looking for somewhere away from the crowds of Fredericksburg but still close to wineries. Narrow Path and Pedernales are only about 1 mile away, and house is just a few miles from 290. BonusâŠ.Albert Ice House is literally across the street. Already planning a return trip.
This property was perfect for our group given its size (very comfortable for 8 adults), location (very close to exceptional wineries on and just off the 290 wine trail, as well excellent food choices), and how quiet it is. Albert Ice House and Dance Hall is just across the street but it was perfectly fineâŠand fun!
Family girlâs trip to Fredericksburg. Lovely accommodations! House was roomy and clean. Perfect weekend gathering place! Host was very communicative and responded quickly to my questions. Highly recommend and would stay here again!
The house was exactly as it was described and shown in pictures. Check in and out was painless. We were very pleased with our stay and are already planning our return.
We were in town for a family wedding at the Albert Dance Hall and Pedernales Cellars. It was perfect proximity and great space for getting ready and plenty of space to sleep. We didnât make much in the kitchen. Owner was so helpful and quickly responded to texts and messages. Overall great stay!
I must say, we really enjoyed staying at The Albert! Had everything we needed, great location in the middle of the country, just amazing. Thinking about when to plan our next stay!! The only thing Iâm bummed about is the icehouse was closed on the duration of our stay but maybe next time! Thank you Virginia for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!!!
The pictures donât do this beautiful home justice. We were here for a work/relaxing time and couldnât have been more pleased. The proximity to our working event in Stonewall was perfect. Being a stones throw from Fredericksburg, Blanco, and Johnson City makes this property even better. The added bonus of having the icehouse and Dancehall across the street made our trip. The only downside was having to leave.
We were 2 families of 5 staying for a wedding in Boerne and Fredericksburg sightseeing so the location was perfect for both. Virginia was great with providing house information and even making sure the outdoor lights would be on for our late arrival. The house had everything we needed. We were able to have a cookout and enjoy the live music coming from across the street(Albert Icehouse). I definitely recommend this beautiful home!
This was a beautiful house in the perfect location if you are going to the Fredericksburg/Johnson City/Hye wineries and distilleries. We were there primarily for the Laguna Madre release at Garrison Brothers, and this was a very short drive to get into that early morning line. The house has a beautiful kitchen, comfy beds and was super clean. The owner was amazing and quick to answer any questions! What we didn't realize was how great the proximity to the Albert Ice House and Dancehall would be. We could walk across the street in the evenings and sit under the gorgeous trees and enjoy the music and the cool breeze. Both nights, the musicians were really excellent and everyone is friendly. After we turned in for the night, the ice house was not noisy at all. We ate in Fredericksburg (Der Lindenbaum) or Johnson City (Pecan Street Brewing). We will be reserving this house for future visits!
It was so beautiful and spacious! We loved everything about and loved how there was a dance hall across the street. We definitely recommend this place!
This house is large & spacious with everything you could need. We could sit on the front porch & hear the live music from Albertâs Ice House right across the street. It was the perfect location for our plans gor the weekend
We used this as a spring break getaway. This is my second time staying here. Thereâs a reason I come back. This place is fantastic! Host is amazing. Location is fabulous and itâs a bonus the icehouse is across the street. We will definitely be back. (Again!)
Virginia has a wonderful house! Plenty of room, updated nicely and decorated thoughtfully. Very clean! We stayed due to business in the area. Made a few trips into Fredricksburg to grab a bite to eat and wander around a bit. Will surely be staying there again soon!
A group of ladies and I stayed here for our annual girls Christmas trip. The house was beautiful and clean. We walked across the street one night and went to the Albert Icehouse and Dancehall. The refrigerator was not working properly. The ice maker was not working and the fridge was not keeping the food properly cold. I reached out to the property manager and got an immediate response. The issue could not fixed during our stay. Which was a bummer but it wasnât a big deal for us. The communication was amazing! The 2 things I would have liked to see in the house was window covering and TVâs in the bedrooms. Overall 5 star rating and definitely stay there again.
Great home. Great location. Very clean and smooth check-in/checkout process. Would definitely recommend this home to others visiting the Fredericksburg area.
My fiance and I stumbled upon this property in the summer of 2018 when we were on our way to pick up two of our five children at camp in Kerrville. I asked the bartender at the Albert Icehouse about a sign that said "Albert, Texas - Population 4." He said, "well that was before those people moved away" and pointed at what is now The Albert. When the house remained available a few months later, I took the plunge and purchased it. After 6 months of careful and detailed renovations, the ugly duckling ranch house with good bones became a true gem of the area. We have enjoyed this home as a couple, with our friends, and with our large family for various holidays. It has become a refuge from the city for our family and we love to share it with like minded travellers. In my other life I am a practicing criminal defense attorney in Austin, Texas, a mom to two and step mom to three, and a dedicated culinary traveler with my partner Tom. We enjoy live music, food and wine artisans, spending time with friends and family over thoughtfully prepared meals, and the beauty of the great outdoors. We prefer a slower pace of life and the cultivation of connections with those who share our interests and pursuits. Lastly, we seek to empower, promote, and support all those who call our part of the hill country home and who use their talents to our endless delight. Be it the gourmet sandwich maker, or the distllier, or the wine harvester, or the guitar picker . . . all of these talented folks make Albert and its surrounding area a collaborative and special place.
The Albert combines a sense of being in the middle of nowhere with the convenience of being in the middle of everything. The hustle and bustle of city life and traffic and headaches melt away as I drive to Albert. It is a very unique place in terms of its location, its history, and its "one of a kind" feel. People come from all over the world to check out Albert and the folklore of the place will quickly endear it to your heart. The house itself has been carefully put together with curated items and a color pallete intended to promote feelings of calm, comfort, and familiarity. You will feel at home and also taken care of in this property. Mostly Albert is the perfect place to relax, unplug, and have fun--to get back to the basics of a happy life and step away from the more challenging aspects of daily living.
Location, location, location . . . . it is the perfect location. It is close to almost anything you would like to enjoy without being in the middle of a crush of tourists. You will know this place is unique and special the minute you drive up. There's simply not anything quite like it and countless people have already enjoyed The Albert including many repeat renters.
