This is a special place. Keep in mind the beds downstairs require you to go outside and down stairs to access, so consider that if you have young kids or those with mobility issues. Also, parking in the narrow, steep driveway was a challenge but I got the hang of it! Recommend turning into the neighbor’s driveway and backing in. Overall, we loved it. We are calling it the “tree house.”

Wonderful forest get-away

Tucked away outside Guerneville, this is a very nice home with an unusual layout. Great outdoor seating area as well if it's a sunny day on the coast.

Gorgeous location

The cabin is cozy and really convenient to scenery on the coast, the Russian River, and a fairly fast drive to the Bay Area too. We especially loved the helpfulness of the guides in the cabin, using the Bluetooth speakers while we cooked, and the big dining table.

Check in was easy, arrival/driving instructions were accurate and helpful, and host was very responsive. Home had all the basics we needed (tp, coffee filters, bath towels), and wanted (books, games, local visit info). Home was beautiful and clean, just as described. My only wish is that I had booked for more days!

Tranquil Location

The house nestled in the trees was amazing! So beautiful to wake up to in the morning. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, and the hot tub was fantastic!

Amazing place to stay

We had a moms getaway weekend and this place had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable which is a huge plus. The kitchen was full stocked with everything we needed. The hit tub was the icing on the cake. A great was to relax. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful setting

We loved feeling like we were in the canopy of the trees. Hot tub was super-pleasant and everything went easily and well. Very comfortable for 5 unrelated adults.

Excellent secluded house in the trees

Very nice and clean property. It was very convenient having a small fridge downstairs so guests didn’t need to climb stairs at night. Very nice deck with a great view. Didn’t use hot tub but looked very clean. In woods but easy to find and close to river beaches and restaurants.

Girls Getaway

Beautiful spot in the forest. Floating in the jacuzzi looking at the trees and listening to the birds was my favorite part. Excellent location between the coast and Guerneville. Comfy beds, lots of games and books, extra towels and blankets. We will come back!

Treetop getaway

Amazing picture windows make you feel like you’re in the forest. No complaints! Visitors should note that the road leading to the driveway is very steep, confident drivers only.

Hello Heidi, Thank you for your review! In the listing, we note the following: Baumhaus is located in rural West Sonoma County where roads can be steep and winding. The road to the house is a narrow, one-lane country road - you may need to pull over for oncoming traffic. It is, in spots, steep with sharp turns, and the road is paved but not necessarily smooth. Confirmed guests are sent detailed driving directions. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for being lovely guests :)

Majestic home in the trees

We are regular visitors to the Russian River area, and have camped, rented homes and RVs, this home was a top location for our family stay.The main living area has a large window looking out at the redwoods and river valley. The 2 decks provide privacy as well as plenty of space to spread out, read a book or play a game. The hot tub was a hit, especially for late night soaks.The kitchen was fully stocked, providing all the cookware and supplies we needed for our family meals. The beds were comfortable and cozy.Probably my favorite feature was the lack of a television in the main gathering area. There is a 'family room' television in the downstairs, but no distractions upstairs.The home is about 10 minute drive from Monte Rio, and about 25 minutes to Guerneville. The Monte Rio community beach is a great location to enjoy a good float in the river.

Gorgeous Place!

We loved the Baumhaus! It's a beautiful home, loaded with amenities. Overlooking redwoods from all the windows and deck is spectacular, and the house is conveniently laid out, so if one part of the group are likely to be up late and others up early it works nicely--almost like having two apartments. Since all other features were great, we were surprised to find that all window screens except in the bathroom and kitchen had been removed, so there was no way to open bedroom windows for cool night air, except to invite mosquitos in. Since the Baumhaus doesn't have A/C, this is quite a problem in summer heat! Additionally (though we've been assured these problems are being fixed) the kitchen cabinet doors were sticky to the touch, and the outdoor furniture cushions were not clean. Nightly price should be lowered until these problems are resolved.
