Great little cottage well situated for a lovely Chilterns weekend
Nice cottage, ideal for a couple or 2 friends as a little snug downstairs for our group,of 4 but we had everything we needed and the full log basket was most appreciated for the wood burner. We would recommend the Brewery Tour - exceedingly interesting and a short walk from the cottage. Hugh was most responsive to all our questions in a very swift and professional manner - thank you Hugh.
The cottage was a good experience for us. Walkable to several pubs and a store. We stayed for two weeks and found it comfortable and cozy.
Great service from property manager, helpful and friendly.
Parking on the lane in front of the cottage is FCFS, so we occasionally couldn't get a spot. But there is free on-street parking close by so was never an issue.
Perfect location, lovely cottage and good value for money.

pretty cottage
i am sorry to say our stay was not good . it needs a deep clean dust and old food under the settees.the cushions need replacing as thin as paper . the carpet upstairs had stains on it .the shower was mouldy ,so we did not use it .the pictures used on the web site were when the cottage was first advertised not a true reflection of what it is like now its a lovely cottage but needs a new refurbishment the plus side in the village is great and the village pub was fantastic as well as the local shop good long opening hours we would not want to stay at the cottage unless it is improved
Small and quaint. Couldnât really use the back door as there was no room. And it would have been useful. Comfy beds and love the close vicinity to the Sun. Would use agin
Pleasant stay in a pretty corner of the Cotswolds. We loved the log burner and all had a good nights sleep. The wifi wasn't working but we didn't send for help, it was quite nice to be technology free for a few days!
Hugh & Becky's communication was excellent and we had a wonderful two days in their lovely cottage. Hook Norton is a great place to chill given there at two fine pubs and the Brewery to sample their fine ales and hospitality. We woke up on our day of departure to 30 cm of snow and we were going nowhere! Hugh and Becky checked we were OK and luckily we were able to stay for an extra night and the provision of more logs made for a beautifully warm and cosy stop over. Thank you for taking care of us. Highly recommended.
Snug, clean, comfortable beds, warm, quiet, with lovely views from bedroom window. Very pleasant setting and extremely satisfying stay in general. Having wi-fi was a Godsend as very ltd mobile 'phone signal in the village.
Pub nearby was ok for dinner but very ltd menu and no veg offered with courses.
Though very loathe to site any negatives, it was a bit hard to find in the dark, (Hook Norton as well as the cottage), we are more accustomed to gas vs electric hob cooking, the shower door didn't seem to 'magnet' closed as many do, and water pressure could be a challenge when one guest washing dishes while another was in the shower.
Regardless, we would happily stay again and in the main had no complaints.
Becky and Hugh make a living buying properties, converting them to holiday homes and running them. We live in the same village as this holiday home with our two children, two dogs, tortoise, and three ducks.
Rose Cottage provides a great base for visiting the Cotswold towns and villages. It is also the mid point between Oxford with its Colleges and museums and Stratford with its Shakespearean history. Blenheim Palace, home of the Dukes of Marlborough and birthplace of Winston Churchill, is a short drive away.
The Cottage is an 18th Century stone built terrace with modern facilities inside. It is close to the heart of the village so you can walk everywhere yet it is still quiet and secluded.
