The Perfect Getaway

Me and my partner stay here for 2 nights and we couldn't have picked a better place. We didn't want to leave. The apartment is placed in a perfect location with lots of restaurants, bars and galleries nearby. The apartment is gorgeous! Everything we need is at your disposal with a pint of milk given on arrival which was very nice! We plan to stay here again many more times in the future! Extremely recommended!

Compact but comfortable appartment in an ideal location

The Royal William Yard is an ideal place to stay, there are many varied restaurants and drinking places plus lots of events taking place on site. There is a lot to see and do there but it is also within walking distance of the town centre and other local attractions such as the hoe and the barbican. The apartment itself is not huge, but more than big enough for a couple. The furnishings etc are of a high standard and the bed was one of the most comfortable we had ever slept in. There is everything you need, for example a washing machine and even a small dishwasher. The only thing you need to bear in mind is that the apartment is on the first floor (though there is a lift) in the middle of the building so if you have a lot of luggage it takes several trips from the car. That however was not really a big issue for us and I would definitely stay again.

Great week away

Really enjoyed our week at the apartment; whilst small and fairly basic it's perfectly suited for two. Brilliant location with excellent restaurants so no need to cook and with the ferry right outside we hardly used the car. Would recommend.

We had a great time

Excellent location, the room was very clean and everyone was very nice to us This is a perfect location if you want to visit Cornwall & Devon and of course there are nice places in Plymouth too The only thing I didn't find very comfortable was that there was no space in the room to put my baby's court. So we had to share the bed with him.

location,location, location

We stayed a week in this apartment and were delighted from the minute we arrived, the location is fantastic, we were met by Steve who couldn't do enough to help us, even helping us unload our car, we were a little concerned about the size of the apartment because of previous reviews, but didn't find it that small, the down side is the cooking area and you really would not be able to do much cooking at all as very little space but if you intend to mostly eat out its not a problem. We did take a fan and it was a godsend especially at night but all in all a fantastic holiday and would definitely recommend.

Probably the best location in Plymouth

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a couple of nights and we were both very impressed. It's perfectly formed and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. One of the absolute highlights is the location...Royal Williams Yard resembles a self contained village and once you head under the stone archway, you pretty much have everything you need. If you do stay, make sure you go to bakery directly opposite as the freshly baked goods are incredible and next door to that is a delicious Italian with fantastic pizzas. We would stay again without hesitation!

mrs linda coombs a great holiday

steve welcomed us on our arrival and made us laugh showed us around. the apartment had everything we needed apart from an electric fan as it was exceptionally hot during our visit. No problems in the end as we bought one which we needed anyway . A great area in beautiful setting. public transport was convenient and always on time, and it was very easy to walk into city centre if we wanted to. ferry available also to the barbican and mount edgcomb .we would recommend to any of our family and friends.

Not very practical

Old sock left from previous visitor, cupboard door about to fall off, bathroom tap fell off, bathroom sink plug not opening without getting fingernails under it and giving a good tug and freezer iced up. Only problem fixed was the cupboard door (and the sock that I threw in the bin). The apartment was furnished to a very high standard but totally useless for everyday use in that there was no storage space other than a wardrobe. Nowhere to hang wet coats or put muddy shoes and now drawers for anything. I did not expect to have to live out of a suitcase.

Great location....close to ferry port

We really enjoyed our stay. Phil was excellent at guiding us and doing all check in. The location in Royal WIlliam Wharf is fabulous! Lots of bars, restaurants, market on the green, and an excellent bakery for breakfast in the morning.

Victory in the Victualing Yard

Overall, we were extremely happy with our stay at Mills Bakery. Phil was there when he said he would be and was very helpful, even late at night when there was a concern over the hot water screech. Mills Bakery is a great location, fabulous bus service and wonderful choice of places to eat and areas to walk about. We stayed for a wedding and it suited us much better than going to a hotel and enduring a haphazard breakfast. We ate our own breakfast and even used the onsite Hairdressers for the best man's emergency hair cut. We'll definitely consider the location again when staying in Plymouth.

Nice, clean, but too small for us.

Great location, but the apartment was a bit small for our purposes. We come to visit family and usually stay at William Yard, but this apartment was not as we had experienced before. It is definitely just for 2 people on holiday who are out during the day. We like to cook and have family around, but there were not enough chairs, kitchen equipment such as saucepans etc. It is probably due to our expectations based on previous rentals in William Yard, as previous apartments we stayed in had plenty of room, and dining/kitchen space and equipment and we entertained with all facilities provided. If you want a nice, clean apartment in a great location to use as a base, this apartment is fine. Also, I am not 100% convinced that it was clear when I booked this apartment, that it was the one in the photos.

Relax and unwind, you won't be able to resist

Excellent apartment that has everything needed for a relaxing stay. The apartment really feels like home and allows you to wind down and relax. Would recommend highly to anyone that is looking to get away and enjoy Plymouth. The Royal William yard is excellent with short walks and fantastic scenery. Great boat ride to the Barbican area which is cheap and helpful. The staff member Phil who meet us was extremely helpful and took his time to give us all the information needed for our stay. Loved it.

Best location in Plymouth and area

Fabulous location with excellent choice of restaurants. Refurbishment/architectural work on the buildings is of an exceptional standard and totally outclasses anything the local hotels have to offer. We couldn't have been happier - just wish we'd stayed longer as would have liked to try all the eateries - but we will come back. Access arrangements were excellent. Phil, the property manager, provided excellent communication prior to arrival and couldn't have been more helpful. I would highly recommend Royal William Yard.

Would recommend

Stayed there whilst undertaking a short work-related course in Plymouth. Comfortable, clean, helpful agency and a very interesting location. Air con/heating a little hard to figure out how to turn up and I was misled by a postcode when travelling there. However, these are minor quibbles and I would recommend this accommodation to others.

Pleasant modern apartment

Very enjoyable stay at a pleasant ,well furnished apartment in an excellent location. All amenities that might be needed were provided and whilst the kitchen area is small we were able to enjoy a freshly cooked family meal. The pre arrival instructions were excellent and the meet and greet worked to perfection. I would definitely stay here again rather than in a hotel which is what I normally do on visits to Plymouth. I would pay more attention next time though to where the apartment is located as I found looking at the building opposite a bit oppressive. I didn't pay enough attention as to whether is was a sea view or courtyard view.

Great location with lots of superb bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. The only disadvantage is the 10am checkout time; changing to 11am or midday would provide a much better customer service.

Great place to stay

Stayed here for 1 night to collect my student daughter for Christmas. Loved the stylish, ultra modern apartment conversion in historic building. Apartment had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. Basic provisions provided but not too far to some shops. Good choice of restaurants (we ate at River Cottage for dinner which was excellent). Will definitely stay here again in future as more preferable than local hotels we have tried so far, plus free parking.

Self catering in William yard.

Stayed for two nights. Meet and great was pleasant and informative all we needed to know. Initially apartment looks modern and funky housed in an old warehouse. As we settled in we found the whole area to be very small. Imagine a long corridor about 12 foot wide about 20feet long door on one end and a window at the other. Take out a hall about 3foot wide. Leaves a small shower room utility with washing machine small bedroom with a glass panel no door or wall and finally a small kitchen / living area. The shower room although adequate is small a mat would be appreciated getting out of the shower as the floor gets very wet. Bed area is small there is hanging space but no drawers. The bed is a double but comfortable as are the pillows. Living / kitchen area at the end so is the widest area. Toaster microwave dishwasher hob and oven all in a small area. Actually the toaster is on the top of the microwave as there's no room to sit on the workspace. A small table with two chairs a sofa not the most comfortable coffee table and t v unit make up most of this area. It was adequate for two nights however a week for two would get very cramped. We loved the location and the restaurants . There is shower gel soap washing up liquid all you need.

Everything was perfect

Appartments are high standard, nicely designed (wooden floors, matching colors, quality furniture), very quiet, comfy. Variety of good restaurants around, public transport (Bus) to City centre.
