Enjoyed how authentic the neighborhood was. Enjoyed listening to collection of music and browsing books with our adult kids. Great location, restaurants, close to BART. Super comfortable and spacious. Love it and highly recommend.
We can't say enough good about the beautiful Balmy House. Excellent location - a wonderful, "classic" SF neighborhood with shops, restaurants and a lively street life - but super quiet on Balmy Alley. The house is charming, beautiful, comfortable and incredibly well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a memorable stay. We recommend highly!
The property was amazing for me and my friends the house is so nice you wonât even want to leave. Me and my friends had a fantastic time and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. With public transit close by you can go anywhere in the city. Lots of cafes and stores near by for all your needs. Would absolutely book again. I would give this place 100 stars if I could.
We spent a long weekend at the beautiful Balmy Alley House. The pictures accurately represent the accommodations; although house was roomier than it appears in the pictures. The space was perfect for 3 couples, but would also work for families. Check-in and out was smooth. Location was wonderful with easy access to public transportation and excellent restaurants, bakeries, and coffee shops.
First time in San Francisco and our trip was definitely enhanced by this rental property!
Gorgeous, spacious, clean and our host was amazing!
Highly recommended :)
The photos do not do this home justice. Truly exceptional home. Secluded and quiet on a cool artsy street. Tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable. Every possible amenity one could ask for. We truly enjoyed our stay and would 100% return in the future if available.
The Balmy Alley House is a true treasure â gorgeous artwork (both inside and out of the house), super clean and comfortable, incredibly quiet at night, and very welcoming. Even the LP collection is first-rate (and I collect records!). This space typifies a San Francisco experience that makes the city so unique, and John is an incredible host.
I love everything about this beautiful house!!! Jon is a wonderful host! The house is full of peaceful energy, which I love. I grew up in San Francisco, and it brought back so many precious memories. Thank you. I'll be back next year!!
The three bedroom, three story Balmy house was a perfect layout for our party, one married couple and two singles. John, the owner, answered our call immediately when we had a question. The house is fully furnished including an eclectic album collection. The beds were comfortable, the showers hot, the kitchen equipped with everything we needed. Despite being In the heart of the Mission, the location of the house is very quiet. We enjoyed the Jewish deli and a taco shop both in close proximity. The murals of Balmy Alley were an interesting look at local culture. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Highly recommend!!
This was the best VRBO weâve ever stayed in. Listing is super accurate, location perfect and John was amazing to work with. Ran into a few issues with VRBO and John was so patient. The layout of the home was perfect for our teenager to have his own space downstairs. Comfortable bedding, beautiful artworkâŠtruly beautiful energy in the home. Record collection was superb along with the swinging chair in the living room, so fun for everyone. Enchanting patio/garden. Quick walk to anything you could need or want. Deep bath was so cool! Well stocked house, didnât need to buy a thing. We did the Painted Ladies VW tour and it fit right in to the feeling of being transported back to the summer of love. Only issue wasâ-we had to leaveđ hope to come back within the year! Thanks so much John for sharing your piece of paradise with us!!
We loved our time at the Balmy Alley house! With 6 adults (3 couples) we had plenty of room to each have our own space and enough communal space to hang out and eat dinner and watch movies. The street was quiet but there were plenty of food options available. Bart is about a 7 minute walk so it was easy to get in and out of downtown. The garage was great for us since we had a rental car and parking is tough in the area, but note the garage is quite small so if you plan on bringing a large vehicle you may want to check with the owner on if it will fit. John was so helpful and accommodating and the house was very clean and had anything you could ever need.
This is definitely not your typical rental. The front of the home on the alley is part of series of murals that attracts visitors from around the world to gawk and take photos. The home itself is beautiful and comfortable. Just a block away is 24th Street, the vibrant heart of the Mission, with a mix of old and new. Great restaurants, multiple panaderias. The weather is better than most of SF, with less fog and warmer temps. Owner is nice and responsive. I highly recommend this place.
