This property is so close to Ft Sill. We visited for our daughterâs BCT graduation and couldnât have been happier with the property. The neighborhood was very quiet.
Right from the start we had good, clear communication with the property owners. They made sure we had everything we needed with lots of extras (grill, condiments, games). We brought a group and there were plenty of beds, lots of space and a nice kitchen area. It had something for everything to feel at home.
Our family stayed at Home of the Brave for our daughter's graduation from basic training. We needed somewhere pet-friendly so we could surprise her with our dogs on Family Day (success!).
Pros: You can not find a vacation rental that is closer to Fort Sill! Great location for convenience to the base. The fenced backyard and patio was perfect for our dogs and we really appreciated the provided rolling cooler for our post-graduation picnic. Friendly, prompt communication with the owners. LOVE the MCM metal fireplace in the sunroom - very Instagram-worthy.
Feedback: The home's decor and furnishings are outdated by today's standards and make the home feel very dark. While advertised as "sleeps 16" - we found it tight for 2 teens and 5 adults.
Overall, Home of the Brave was adequate and comfortable for our short stay, we would stay here again strictly for the location and pet-friendliness.
The place was very nice . It was spacious and clean. I like how it was really convenient, close to everything, the owners checked in to make sure everything was ok
This place was wonderful! Had plenty of space for us to spread out and enjoy spending time with our soldier during family day! There were 7 of us but could definitely have had more comfortably. Clean, comfy and a nice quiet neighborhood. Will definitely come back if in the area again!
Wonderful house! Kim was fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed! Great location! Couldn't have asked for more. We look forward to staying there again in the future and will recommend to our friends!
Great place, plenty of room! We were able to cook meals and relax with our soldier! And almost everything we needed was already there. From kitchen cookware to games for the wee ones! And just 7 minutes from Fort Sill! The owners were also very attentive and quick to respond. Would recommend this place for your visit to Lawton!
House was so homey feeling! Very clean, very spacious, quiet neighborhood, didn't need for anything! Everything provided! Highly recommend! Only 5 minutes from Ft Sill! Thank you so much!
The property was lovely and had all the amenities you could ask for! We went to Fort Sill for my son's basic training graduation and the property was right outside the gate so it was a very short drive on and off post. We took my 19 month old grandbaby with us and they had a pack-n-play, highchair, toys and everything that made life easier with a toddler! The property is located in a very safe and quiet neighborhood. The owners are very kind and willing to work with you for checking in and out. We would absolutely stay there again! Thanks for making our trip amazing!
House exceeded expectations, was incredibly clean and very comfortable! Our family got to enjoy Family Day with our Soldier in a quiet & peaceful setting. The convenience of the location was just perfect, one exit down from the base and within a few miles of downtown Lawton with great restaurants & shopping for whatever we needed. Kym was an attentive & gracious host, I would recommend this for future Ft. Sill soldiersâ families!
Kim was born in upstate New york (Watertown) and was raised in upstate Ohio (Findlay). after traveling around the united states for 6 years settled in Oklahoma. Glenda was born in Baytown, Tx and moved to Fletcher Oklahoma to raise a family. We lived in Lawton OK for about 10 years before moving to a lake home. This home is the house right behind our Lawton Home that we still own.
This is a Frank Sneed home. Frank sneed was an architect and home builder that brought the California beech house concept to Oklahoma and built each home completely out of redwood. Frank studied under Frank Lloyd wright and incorporates a lot of his architecture into his homes. One of his signatures in his homes is a 7 ft ledge, with exposed beams that give the impression of a much larger space. Also the neighborhood is a quiet secluded area of Lawton that we have lived in for many years before buying this property. We think it is the best neighborhood in Lawton.
