Juste au-dessus de Little Apple Bay. La conception en plein air apporte la vue ininterrompue et la brise à l'intérieur. Une excellente valeur pour ceux qui recherchent le haut de gamme à des tarifs modérés. Sugar Apple a deux chambres king climatisées, salles de bain attenantes et cuisine complète.

Des vues panoramiques imprenables sur la mer d'azur parsemée de voiliers vont de Jost Van Dyke et Sandy Cay jusqu'au spot de surf de Cane Garden Bay. La pause de surf à Little Apple Bay est juste en dessous et est une vue magnifique et divertissante pendant les mois d'hiver.

L'emplacement est parfait avec un accès facile aux plages de Little Apple Bay et de Long Bay. La plage de Smuggler’s Cove est à une courte distance en voiture. Road Town est à 25-30 minutes en voiture, l'aéroport de Beef Island est à 45 minutes en voiture.
** Une petite voiture de location est requise pour ce parking. Un VUS pleine grandeur, un Montero, une camionnette ou un Jeep Wrangler 4 portes ne conviendront pas ou ne seront pas autorisés à rester.

Great view and unique design

Our reviews would have been excellent except for some minor items. No safety shower mats, a rusted dish rack that should have been replaced, no beach chairs as advertised, no dinner knives, and no spatula. We purchased 2 beach chairs, knives, shower mats and a spatula that we left there.

What a great house & view so many great places to dine right closeby as well as the marinas where we took day trips sailing & snorkeling. Caves our favorite place so far only our Fourth trip to Tortola BVI plenty more to explore!

Amazing view of apple bay

If you plan on staying here rent a small 4wd ..the driveway is very steep and there is not much room to turn around.But if you like an out of the way hideaway this is your place. The villa was very clean overall. The living area is open to the outside. Both bedrooms have air cond. The kitchen was adequate but the place needs a grill. We really enjoyed staying here and would return.

Beautiful Views and Perfect location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Sugar Plum home. The home was open and airy and listening to the water at night was sooo relaxing. The home was clean, decorated nicely and if you forgot your beach towels they had you covered. The view was unbelievable. Nine days of Heaven! Thank you Mac for the directions. After the first night finding the home, we had no problems the rest of our trip. We would definitely come back and stay again.

Nightmare on Tortola

Do not rent this house. It has zero security and is fully accessible from the exterior and riddled with mosquitoes. Do not be fooled by the views. In addition, very difficult to get to with a very narrow, jacked up driveway and a non-responsive host.

Beautiful view and spacious

The house is great for 2 couples. Lots of space, 2 large bedrooms with large comfortable beds and en suite baths. Living area is spacious with an amazing view. Kitchen is adequate. The kitchen could stand a few more drinking glasses and additional sealed storage areas for food as this is wide open living and we had a small visitor (mouse) each night which was not a big deal (we just stored all food in fridge, bins, microwave, etc and wiped down dishes and surfaces whenever we used. The driveway is very steep and narrow (we’ve been to Tortola several times so all the warnings about what to expect helped). The need for only a small/mid vehicle is for real. Anyone staying here needs to know the driver has to use a tight area including a space next door to do a tight K-turn turnaround each time parking at the house.

Long weekend stay

Upon arrival, the house appeared clean, but quickly realized that it had not been cleaned recently. The dishes and the glassware were dusty, and for a two bedroom villa there was just a total of two wine glasses of which one was cracked. There were many missing lightbulbs in the bathroom and the cockroach jumped out of the towel when we had a shower. There was no Wi-Fi passcode to be found and getting in touch with Mac, the owner, was close to impossible. When he eventually replied, said he has bad cell coverage where he lives. Having the passcode written down somewhere in the villa might be very helpful, and might eliminate the stress of a non-responsive property owner.

Unsafe place to stay!

The property is not listed accurately. You need a small jeep to get to the property especially if it is raining the bedroom is the only enclosed area and all the rest is open so mosquitoes eat you alive. A short walk to the beach is down a very steep hill and then back up difficult for any unathletic person. The porch gets rained on and it is so slippery that a serious fall is waiting to happen. Also true in the shower. Very slippery and no bath mats. Disappointed with this property and the lack of response from host. WiFi was not posted and the next day we finally got the information. I sent six texts and emails and left voice messsges!! We arrived at night and had to hire a man with 4-wheel to take us up to the property that has NO SIgns! We left a day early and went to the Wyndham. Soooo much better.

Great View but not the best experience

Mac only responds to messages that Mac deems necessary so if you have a problem with anything other than directions or access to the house you may be out of luck, as we were. Directions are given with landmarks, so if you weren't coming from the direction they assumed, you may crest the wrong hill several times. The driveway is treacherous and only accessible from one direction. The cleaner forgot to leave the door unlocked so we were asked to climb on a brick wall and over another brick wall for entry or wait for her to come back...maybe. Never mind falling on the concrete below with no medical care in sight. There is no exterior lighting so watch the dip in the driveway when carrying groceries in the dark, you will trip and fall on your face. The interior was similar but not the same as picture. No lights on living room fans, 1 was broken and both are needed to keep bugs away. The dining room lightbulbs were blown, so we took from other lamps to replace them, it was tricky getting those in from 12 ft below with no ladder or sturdy furniture to stand on so we held my husband up which was no small feat. Without that light we couldn't see the food from the plate to our mouths. Don't sit on the couch without bug spray, we got hundreds of bites the first night. It would be nice if the owner had the outdoor furniture sprayed before arrival. No instructions for tv, wifi or anything else for that matter. With all that said, the view was great, beds were comfortable, and the outdoor living arrangement is very unique sans mosquitos. The home is nothing fancy which is fine but it's clear they do as little as possible to keep it rentable. The lack of response on lighting issues and wifi let me know that Mac just didn't care. We cared for her home as our own, cleaning it before leaving and conserved water while there, I wished she had been as considerate when it came to necessities at her own home. The night before our departure someone came pounding on the door, scared us a little as the place isn't exactly secure or easily accessible. It ended up being the cleaner wondering when we were leaving.

5 night family vacation

Unfortunately, this will be the 1st somewhat negative review I’ve ever posted. Our stay with Mac started off on the wrong foot. The airline, InterCaribbean, which we booked our flights with canceled all flights, including ours, for unknown reasons a week before our stay. I immediately contacted Mac and advised him of our situation. Mac was not flexible with his cancellation policy but offered me 50% off our next booking. We did end up finding a different way to get to Tortola thankfully. When we arrived at the rental we were surprised at the extremely steep and narrow driveway that led to the rental. This was mentioned in some of the other reviews but until seeing it we really had no idea how extremely steep and somewhat scary the driveway really was. Upon settling in we discovered that the house was missing a lot of what we would consider basic household items: tissues, paper towels, extra wash cloths, an adequate supply of towels for a week, dish cloths, broom etc., things you would expect to find even in a modestly priced nightly rental. We asked Mac for some of those items and he promptly supplied us with some extra towels, a drying rack ( no place to hang towels) and broom. We asked Mac if the water in the house was safe to drink as it is cistern water. Mac told us he did not have a water filtration system but told us it was safe to drink. I believe this is bad advice as we own a home with a cistern and know how important it is to have that water filtered for many sanitary reasons. We discovered a few other items were missing and contacted Mac once more but we began to feel a bit uncomfortable as Mac became unresponsive. The positive is the house was nicely furnished and it was nice having AC in the two bedrooms and they were comfortable. The view of the sea was spectacular especially in the morning/evening but the open living room/kitchen was a double edged sword. The mosquitoes were quite vicious so make sure you purchase some bug spray prior to coming to the house as there was none available inside the house. One more notable thing, if you have young children you should be aware that the living room has an older plastic guard rail overlooking a steep drop off. As I mentioned the views are spectacular however If I had younger children this would’ve made me nervous.

Amazing view but . . .

While the view is amazing, however, listing indicated that host would meet us to show us to property. That did not happen. We had to text him 3 times for directions. Really hard to find. Drive way is super hidden, steep and rough!. Description says 15 minute walk to beach which not true as beach is gone and only rocks. Closest real beach is more like 60 minute walk or 10 minute by car. Be aware that the entire living area except bedrooms and bathrooms are THE PORCH. No way to escape the wind or bugs. Light above dining table did not work. Short in bedroom light switch. No grill, kitchen pans old and food stuck to them. One dish towel and dish cloth. 2 drinking glass for 4 people. No extra garbage bags or toilet paper, etc. Only had 1 bath towel for each person for a week. Bathroom door did not close all the way. Communication with host was terrible. Does not respond to phone calls. Fortunately, my husband has international phone service to text host but response was very slow. They was no guidance on what to do with trash, etc. Impossible to watch TV without streaming service. TV VERY small and hard to hear being that you are outside. I would not recommend this property for a family with children or someone not physically fit.

Love the place - be ware the driveway

Fantastic place with great views. My mom and sister loved it. I would caution travelers to the driveway - it is a bit steep and is difficult to navigate if it is raining and it rained a good bit on us. I did make it up several times. Just make sure you have a good 4 wheel drive rental car for your trip.

The property was as described. Beautiful views! It was clean and there was a broom for occasional needed sweeping of the open living area. The kitchen needs new, unchipped coffee cups. The bath towels were badly stained and looked dirty. There were no beach towels. Mac did not send instructions for entry. The next door neighbor called him for us as our calls did not go through. Turned out the door was unlocked. We had no trouble finding the driveway. Mac sent detailed directions and I had printed a map before we left home. You definitely need an suv to negotiate the driveway, not the small car that Mac recommended. Citronella candles would be helpful as well. We burned mosquito coils to help keep the mosquitoes at bay. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful Views!

This property has an absolutely amazing view of the beach, and the Caribbean! However, it is very difficult to find, especially at night, and the directions given were like a treasure hunt. And I could not get ahold of owner. The house was very, very clean! I would suggest a sign at the end of the road, and another streaming app for the TV. As I wrote in the guest book not everyone has Netflix, and the Netflix did not work. There are other apps like Hulu, Discovery+, HBOMax e.c.t…. Or just have Netflix working. I love the openness of the house! Also, the bed was very comfortable. And you are not far from Smugglers cove which is a very nice cove and beach to swim and snorkel! The house is close to needed amenities like the store , beach, and good restaurants. Thanks for having beach towels and chairs also. If one is not a good driver or has trouble parking cars the house may not be for you since the hills are steep and the one parking place is small. It is also not far from the shell museum. Sebastians down the street has a lot going on during the week, we went to karaoke at Sebastians. We had a wonderful vacation!

Sugar Plum is a perfect vacation home

We had an excellent stay at Sugar Plum The layout of this villa allows one to enjoy the island ambience, fresh air and views. Everything was just as conveyed in pictures, very clean property, quiet and peaceful. Lots of thought put into furnishings to make the guests comfortable. Comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, outdoor shower to rinse of snorkeling/diving equipment; basically everything you need to have a relaxed vacation. Yes the driveway is tricky but very manageable after going up once. We were out and about every day with no problems. When we were not relaxing at the villa, we spent many days at Smuggler's Cover snorkeling, swimming at Long Bay Beach; breakfast or brunch at Omar's Cafe, dinners at Sugar Mill, Da Coal Pot or Sebastians. The views are terrific and the open air living areas made for lovely evenings with a drink and music. Owner was very prompt in responding to any queries we had.

What a great property!

My boyfriend and I just returned after staying here a week. What a wonderful location and great host. The villa was clean, had every amenity one could ever need and if we were missing something all we had to do was ask! The view was breathtaking! What a joy to listen to the waves crashing on the beach at night. Watching the surfers was an extra bonus! The bed was so comfy and bathrooms spacious. Loved the open air concept. We had little problem with bugs or mosquitos. It truly was a little slice of heaven. Cheryl and Wakumba were awesome. Cheryl was so pleasant and I was always happy to see her. She gave us some great tips about our location and the beach. Thank you for that! We would absolutely stay here again. It did not disappoint! Beautiful views of Apple Bay and little village below. Open air living is an adventure.

A fun adventure to live with the crashing ocean and sounds of the village below wafting up. Fun to watch surfers below. Sebastian's restaurant/club in town is fun and has great food. House is simple, but meets all needs and the view is everything. Cheryl was really helpful. Smugglers Cove Beach is a fabulous nearby crescent shaped beach with a small reef and sweet beach bar. We enjoyed walking the quiet dirt road to get there. A number of good restaurants in Apple And Carrot Bays.

Amazing views, unique floorplan!

Loved the property, many incidentals thoughtfully provided. Even more breathtaking than the photos. Be sure to pay close attention to the directions for getting to the property. It's up a very steep narrow driveway, so the smallest 4-wheel drive is a great bet for a rental car. It had been raining the week before we arrived, so there were lots of mosquitos, but that's probably not typical. Overall it was an excellent stay.

Beautiful

We really enjoyed our stay, it felt great. The incredible view, fantastic beds, strong AC in the bedrooms, good little kitchen...the only thing that was problematic was when we specifically asked about the strength of the wifi (this was a working trip) we were told it was very good. In reality it came and went and was very weak at the best of times. But if wifi is not an issue this is a great place.

Awesome View

This is our second visit to Sugar Plum. The villa is perfect for one or two couples. Most amazing view of Apple Bay and really close to other great beaches. Delicious restaurants within a 3 to 5 minute drive. Check in was a little rocky but not the fault of Mac or Brandon. An electrical storm had knocked out the power and we had a power truck blocking our drive way for a couple of hours. Brandon helped with our luggage so we could get into the villa while waiting on the power to come back on. AC in the bedroom worked great. Would stay here again.

Just book it.

The place is awesome, very nice, clean and comfortable property. It is just as it appears in the photos. In the day you get an awesome ocean view and at nights the sound of the waves crashing in on the beach. You could sit in one spot on the balcony and not move for a day. It is well worth the price for what you find on island. Mac is very responsive to sort any issues. One caveat however, the wifi can be spotty but save for that the place is otherwise a 10/10.

The property is a wonderful location to enjoy everything the BVI has to offer. Overlooking the north shore of Apple Bay, Tortola you are within a reasonable drive to most anywhere on the island and can enjoy amazing views of sailboats, surfers and the beautiful blue sea as it extends to the horizon.
