Thanks for the great review Robin. It's true! The quiet side of the island is filled with gorgeous places, many of which aren't as crowded as those closer to downtown Bar Harbor. The Bass Harbor lighthouse is the BEST place on the island to catch the sunset! I'm so glad to hear you captured such memorable photographs! - Amber

While Seaside Rose was not built to full ADA standards, we are always grateful for feedback that helps future guests understand the home’s features and limitations clearly. We especially loved your description of the “quiet side” of MDI. The early morning lobster boats, the gardens, the pie stands, the winding roads, and the rhythm of a traditional Downeast community are exactly the things that make this area so memorable. It sounds like you embraced the slower pace and found some wonderful adventures around the island. Thank you also for sharing your beautiful sunset photo. Thanks for the review Peter! It is such a bummer when you're in an outdoor destination and the weather is poor. For our future guests who are caught in the rain, I love to get out on the trails when it's a bit drizzly - I basically have the whole park to myself! Another great rainy day activity is to take a Paddle Board trip with Acadia SUP located in downtown Bar Harbor. In the summer, it's often warm enough even in the rain, and on the paddle boards you can get in and out of the lake and really enjoy being wet! For indoor activities I recommend the Seal Cove Auto Museum, the Abbe Museum, the Bar Harbor Historical Society, the George Dorr Museum of Natural History, the Sieur de Monte Nature Center, or the Great Harbor Maritime Museum. - Amber
