Best part of this apartment was the check-in, however, everything else was not up to standards, so much so that I booked another place in the Prati area after sleeping here for only one night.
In no specific order, here are the reasons:
1. the lock on the main entrance of the building is a joke...you need to jig it several times before it opens.
2. the pictures on the VRBO site gives you a false impression of this place...it is way more run down then the pictures show.
3. as some have also written before me, there is a very strong, very unpleasant stench coming from the sink.
My advice to anybody looking into this property...do yourself a favor and book elsewhere when staying in Rome...look into the Prati area, for the same price, you will be able to find better and cleaner accommodations.
Stayed at this unit for 8days earlier this month. The unit managers were extremely helpful, and responded very fast to any questions. The unit is in a prime location (central walking distance to most everything). Great bed. Few towels. Next to a busy street, but you couldn't hear anything once the windows were closed. Check in was easy (expect to pay ⏠25 extra if checking in on Sunday, holiday, or after 9PM, or ⏠50 extra if checking in after midnight). We've been to Europe many times, & know what to expect in terms of accommodations, specially in older buildings. This unit, however, has seen better times. It is in real need of TLC. The walls are dirty with scuff marks; Lots of lint & dust in the kitchenette and under the bed areas (years worth of it). There is a sewage smell that permeates the unit due to the kitchen sink not having a U trap under the sink (however, after using the washing machine a couple of times, the smell dissipated somewhat; but we actually had to buy an air freshener. The front panel of the Sofa bed is falling apart. There's a lot of mold in the shower area, and under the bathroom sink. The bathroom sink is loose, and it is badly stained in the drain area. So is the toilet. Called my review a missed opportunity because all this can be easily fixed for under $200, & this unit would be a jewel. Place is small enough that it would take 2 people 1 hr to paint, & it would look great each time a new customer comes in. Loved the location and the managers
The apartment location was very central however the kitchen had a terrible odor. Door to bathroom would not fully open or close. Linens and bedding unacceptably. No cover for bed but thin sheet and old comforters with no covers. They did provide an American styled coffee pot and there was a washer.
Posizione strategica, servita dai mezzi pubblici che portano in qualsiasi luogo. Posizione centrale per raggiungere luoghi di interesse anche a piedi. Servito da ristoranti e negozi con prezzi accessibili e dove si mangia bene. Monolocale ben servito
This apartment was perfect for my husband and I for our short stay in Rome. It is a cozy studio, but all the amenities are great. The location is central and right next to a bus stop, however we found everything to be in comfortable walking distance for us (Vatican, Colosseum, Pantheon, etc). It is near a busy street so you hear traffic at night, but that doesn't bother us. Very close to restaurants, grocery store, pharmacy, etc as well.
Bus stop is just 10 seconds away with the bus routes that can take you to Termini and most tourist attractions. Very close to Vatikan.
Good for 2 person and too crowded for 4.
The place is clean. But the bed would need to be replaced.
Overall, a good place to stay.
Abbiamo alloggiato 4 giorni in questo appartamento. Eravamo in 4 e ci siamo trovate benissimo!
Nonostante sia piccolo, l'appartamento offre davvero tutto ciĂČ che si puĂČ chiedere!
Il proprietario Ăš gentile e disponibile.
Ritorneremo sicuramente
The photos are accurate but make the place seem more spacious than it feels when you get there. We are 2 adults of medium build and we were tripping over each other a bit. We like to eat breakfast and ocassionally dinner in the apartment which is how we discovered that the kitchen is not really designed for eating in. Having said that, Weekey Rentals, which manages the property, was kind enough to arrange for some new utensils so we didn't have to eat every meal in a restaurant.
Perhaps the biggest surprise was the bathroom with a large crack in the glass panel between the shower and sink but fortunately there was no leakage and the glass is still very solid. I felt sorry for the poeple living below since the bathroom door drags along the floor and therefore squeaks (think nails on a blackboard). Rather annoying, especially if you use the bathroom at night.
Now, for the good stuff. The location was great to walk to not only the Vatican but other places like Fontana di Trevi. There are also heaps of restaurants and one in particular that's just around the corner, Taverna di Giulia, that we really enjoyed.
This quiet apartment was a perfect place to stay for our first visit to Rome. It was very convenient for walking everywhere. A bus stop is also right out the door. Danielle picked us up at the airport which was great. Emanuele was there to greet us at the apartment. The best thing he said to us was "Just Go and Explore, and enjoy Rome." And that we did. (We started most of our days with a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice or pomegranate juice from Camp de'Fiori Food Market.) I would recommend this apartment to others.
The apartment is right in the heart of city, close to the river and Vatican - so expect some street noise most of the time. It did not keep us awake but we are not light sleepers. We only took public transportation to the apartment otherwise you were within walking distance of everything.
The pictures are accurate - one room with a large bed and sofa, kitchenette and bathroom. We emailed all our communications which worked well and they always responded promptly. Everything was spotless and ready to move it. Emanuele met us about 20 minutes after we arrived and showed us mapped highlights and in and outs of the apartment. The suite is on the second floor (five flights) so you have to expect some stair climbing, but after walking Italy it was easily handled.
This place is ideal for a couple, although we did have our daughter come and join us and she slept comfortably on the sofa. The only issue is the hot water tank is good for two showers and then you wait for a recharge.
We really did not use the kitchen at all since there are so many places to eat within a short walk. The best place we found for a meal was La Fraschetta di Castel Sant'Angelo. If you are looking for a fresh morning croissant and coffee - any place down the street has many choices. We also easily walked around in the evenings for dinner and always felts safe in our surroundings which was nice.
Enjoy the many things this city has to offer the tourist - it is a busy place on season and off.
There were a couple things that needed attention in the suite that can easily be fixed with a few tools and I will let them know on a separate email as they are tweaks and not show stoppers.
My husband and i stayed in this apartment for 5 nights recently. it is quiet small, but the bed is large comfortable and clean. i think fitting more than two persons in the room would be a challenge.
there is a serious mould problem in the shower, which is due to poor drainage, that permeates the whole apartment. so windows have to be kept open, which then allows the outside traffic noise to be a little disturbing. the mould must be seeping through the connecting wall into the kitchen cupboards because although the kitchen is quite new, when you open the cupboards the musty smell is very prominent.
i do hope this maintenance problem is addressed as this is otherwise a good little apartment.
we also would like to make mention of a restaurant very close by called 'the meat market'. really great hamburgers. after living on pasta and pizza for 3 weeks, this restaurant made a very nice change.
Perfect location for a fast and furious trip to Ro
This apartment was the perfect spot for my husband and my quick trip to Rome. We only had three days to see all we needed to see before heading to Florence - the modern style and set up or this apartment allowed us to do that with ease.
AC and Internet worked well - bathroom and kitchen were good for our needs. My only request would be for the kitchen to have more essentials - ie a kettle, maybe some coffee? Other then that the place fit our needs perfectly.
