When I arrived and saw the FOR SALE signs it made sense. A house that seemed like it hadnât been rented in a year and for good reason, a grill that had two empty propane tanks and no propane, a house that was not ready for us when we arrived an hour late for check in even though I received an email stating it was ready 2 hours early. A dirty second floor, dirty dishes in cabinets, bathrooms with no toilet paper, just the absolute minimum house for the maximum fee. A total dump that we made work for 5 days because we had no choice once we got there. We still salvaged a good time because we had two couples unable to make it so there was enough room for those who stayed. Typical house for sale because it needs to be refurbished completely but the location was great, not the house. NOT the house. It was like ordering dinner for ten the night the restaurant closed down. Way too much money to spend on a get by with no provisions. Didnât even make sure the grill worked.
This was our first trip to Oak Island and our accommodations at Daze at Sea made this a very memorable experience and a Christmas to remember for the whole family. The house is in a convenient location yet secluded as well. No complaints from this crew.
We loved the house, and it was perfect for our needs. However, the hot tub needed to be serviced after using the first night. We called the hot tub company who promised twice they would send someone out, and noone showed. We then called the realty company who was very apologetic and said they would contact the hot tub company. However, noone every came. So.....one of the main reasons we rented this house was for the hot tub, and we were only able to use it one out of the five nights we were there.
