The Heronâs Landing house was a great location for our annual Big Chill week for seven University of Michigan grads (all women 70). There was plenty of room with 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, with lovely sunset views over the lake. The property was clean and quiet, and the owner was very responsive to questions before and during the stay. As noted in the VRBO description, wifi internet connectivity was a bit limited, generally allowing only 2-3 people to have sufficient signal access at any one time. Overall, we recommend this house for your next group get-away.
Our group was 10 college friends who hadnât all been together for several years. The size of the house (bedrooms & bathrooms) was perfect. The main room not only had a great view of the lake, but was more than large enough for us to all be together cooking, laughing & just catching up. The location is ideal for relaxing & the team was very responsive to any questions we had. The only negative relates to the lack of window treatments in the main room & game room. On a sunny day you may need to wear sunglasses in the main room as the sun gets lower in the sky. At night, you feel a little exposed especially as the house has neighbors on both sides.
We are all very happy with the accommodations of Heronâs Landing for our recent family Christmas gathering. Weâve wanted to do this for many years and were pleased to find a home that fit our 8 adults and 5 kiddos (from different areas of the state of MI and Chicago). Thank you!
We had a wonderful stay at this house, perfect layout for our big family. The view of the lake is spectacular, and the fire is a great place to gather in the evenings.
We would have loved it, though, if hairdryers and beach towels were provided; they are very bulky and heavy to carry in your suitcase on the plane. Would be a nice addition!
We had a wonderful week at this lake house with our family. The beach was perfect for the kids, the house was great with plenty of bed and bathrooms for all 15 of us.We had so much fun kayaking and canoeing and watching the beautiful sunset. It was peaceful and perfect.
Loved it so much. My son wanted to come in summer, but the date is full. I will come over and over if I have to come to Michigan. All of our friends also enjoyed.
This is the 2nd year we have held a woman's retreat at this property. I cannot say enough about the manger and the the home. The space is so open, peaceful, the blue sky reflection in the lake, so many stars at night...feels like you can reach out and touch them... it is a perfect getaway. We will be back next year for round 3!!
As siblings, we decided that we needed to get together once a year and just hang out! We had a great time! The facilities were very accommodating. We will return.
We stayed here for our yearly girls trip. The house was a wonderful fit of our needs plenty of rooms and bathrooms for everyone. The view of the lake was wonderful especially as we enjoyed the firepit one afternoon. The kitchen was well stocked and equipped with all the utensils you could need. Only disappointment was the cleanliness of the grill. We planed to cookout one night and the grill was clean and not taken care of.
We were a group of 8 women all classmates celebrating our 70th birthday with a Michigan getaway
This was a perfect place and setting for us 7 spacious bedrooms 4 bathrooms So many places for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night conversions and we especially took advantage of the fire pit with the lake view
Elizabeth and Christine were very helpful with emails and texts concerning any questions and also for instructions during our stay
We cannot wait to plan our next get together at this property
The property was just as described. Very comfortable for large families. The outdoor area was very nice, large beautiful fire pit perfect for the cooler evenings we had with a beautiful view of the lake. We enjoyed taking the canoe out on the lake. The lake was small enough for us to get a chance and explore all the shoreline. The kitchen was very large which was perfect for all of us to cook together. Close to the quaint towns of Saugatuck and South Haven. Both had many options for lunch and dinner. The only issue we had was with receiving the door code. The door code for check in is only provided via e-mail 10 minutes prior to check in. In our case we never received the door code and trying to reach the host was challenging. There is somewhat spotty cell reception in the area so it was a concern when we did not receive it. Thankfully there was a note on the door when we arrived (at 5:10p) that gave a different house manager's name/# who answered the phone right away when we called and gave us the code.
We had a large family get together and there were enough bedrooms and bathrooms for all of us to be comfortable. Being right on the lake with an outdoor fire pit and deck was a lot of fun!
We so enjoyed our stay! There was something for everyone - from the small sandy beach to the fishing to nearby shopping and wineries! And we really appreciated the friendly crew that came daily to clean the lawn. Thanks!
We had a large family trip and found the perfect location with this property. There was plenty of room, well stocked kitchen, lots of outdoor space as well as fire pit, dock and canoe.. we had great communication when we needed to. Would definitely recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay at the lake house. Everything is as pictured, the house is kept really clean. We stayed with a large group of family so it was very convenient to have many bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. We enjoyed the pool table and entertainment in the front room. We had some trouble with the wifi and called for some help, Christine came out within an hour and was able to get it working again, that was really appreciated. The house is as pictured and the lake access was great, kids enjoyed playing in the sand and going in the water. Would visit again!
Third time in the area, visited Timberidge for skiing and tubing. Took a short day trip to Holland for bowling/ laser tag. Family enjoyed the time together and the local Rusty Rocket Brewery a few shorts steps away
I was raised in southwest Michigan, in the Grand Rapids area, and I have always reveled in the natural beauty to be found here in our Great Lakes State. I just love being near the water, so any chance I get to be near a lake is a perfect opportunity for me to relax and unwind. I hope you get to know our beautiful state when you stay with us, because to know it is to love it!
I was immediately drawn by the natural beauty of the lake and its environs â not to mention the extensive outdoor activities and peaceful surroundings. Since then, I have made it a priority to spend as many summer weekends in the area as I can.
This home was conceived and built specifically to cater to large groups and families who want to escape the mad rush of daily life and spend time growing closer to one another while experiencing all the tranquility and enjoyment that "life on the lake" has to offer. We have worked to provide a balance of comfort, functionality, charm, unity, and fun throughout our home and grounds. We even designed our outdoor spaces to provide maximum opportunities for gathering together to enjoy good meals and good conversation. We sincerely hope that the breathtaking lake views from the great room and lake-facing deck will inspire and astound you as much as they do us. We love creating welcoming spaces that draw you in with their charmingly decorated rooms designed with great care, and our greatest desire is to see you return year after year so you can continually create memorable moments with those you love.
