Loved the view from the porch and everything was within driving distance. Our favorite part about the stay was the wood burn fireplace.
Only recommendations would be have lights for the driveway at night since by 4pm it is pitch black and possible hand rails since the rock steps can be steap.
This was a perfect weekend stay for us who live in Ramona and didn't want to drive for hours. It was quiet, private, comfortable and our favorite thing was the deck and views of the lake, sunrise and sunset. The bed and pillows were very comfortable so much that I ordered the same pillows on Amazon. Great for side sleepers. No hair dryer so bring your own. We will be back for sure!!!
Very comfortable older cabin on the hill. Great view just a bit difficult for older folks because of rock stairs down to the cabin all in all, very pleasant stay KL
Had a great three days at Cuyamaca state park. Cabin is comfortable, well equipped and has a beautiful view of the lake. Stayed with a 6 month old baby. We were all very comfortable in the cabin. Great drives and hikes in the area. Julian is close by and worth a visit.
Perfect spot over looking the cuyamaca lake. Great place super warm and friendly location. Back area has windows that create great cross breeze which keeps the house nice and comfy.
Will be renting again in the future. Highly recommend.
This cabin is very cozy ,perfect for for a weekend getaway with a beautiful view of the lake and the wildlife . Great host, responses quickly to any questions we had. Will definitely be back.
Cabin is in a great location. Beautiful views, close to trailheads and the lake. Great weather and great hikes over three days. Very enjoyable.
Cabin also clean and well maintained. Sitting on the porch in the evenings was terrific.
Our family enjoyed our 3 days of relaxation here. We mostly lounged around and enjoyed the view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The home has a nice layout, clean, and the kitchen is well stocked. Lastly, the owner is very courteous and responsive.
The best view of the area, incredible views of the lake, the mountains and wildlife, the cabin has all the needed amenities and communication with the property owner was most helpful. Weâll definitely be back.
This cabin lake house provides all that you want & need in quaint mountain getaway!
The amazing view of Cuyamaca Lake off the deck and all parts of the living area are stunning!
Great & fast correspondence with Herve, thank you for sharing your cabin with us.
Everything was clean. It was pretty much as advertised. We had some hot weather, so we were appreciative of the AC. Herve is friendly, we're glad we had a chance to meet him in person. The view from the porch is fantastic. The property is within 5 minutes of Lake Cuyamaca, which is why we selected it.
This was our very first time renting a home, it was so easy and Mr. Herve was very nice and communicative! He even made the sweetest touch of having a Christmas tree as we were staying in the property over Christmas. The view was beyond spectacular, the lake and animals! The property was clean just outdated. Just beware that if one of the rolling blinds sticks, do not try to shimmy them, they will rip!
My name is Herve. I'm a scientist turned entrepreneur in the San Diego biotech community. I have been living in San Diego for 25 years bringing my children in Cuyamaca when they were still babies. As young adults, they love coming to Julian and surrounding parks. I'm an outdoor addict that loves hiking and mountain biking all these trails around here and in the Anza-Borrego desert down below. I am originally from Paris in France, always loved rural and mountain setting.
I bought this property to get something more comfortable than camping. It's a perfect gateway place 1 h drive from San Diego. It was first built in 1925 and transformed into a modern cabin later.
Waking up in the morning and looking at that view put a smile on your face right away. You can sit on the porch and watch deer and turkeys coming out right by the cabin early in the morning or at dusk. Weather is unique here, at 4500ft it's very cold in winter with strong winds (>60 mph) and 1 ft snow fall during a winter storm. Blizzard can have you stuck here for the day, even in May!
