Great summer vacation home.

I travel with my kids and alot of family. 6 bedrooms is enough space for everyone. The price I loved. Not pricey and a very nice home. Kids love's to be in the pool and we love cook outs. We all enjoyed!

Place was very spacious back yard and pool were neat and clean. I would recommend upgrading their beds as they are pretty uncomfortable.

It’s the pictures they don't show

Proximity to the beach was wonderful but the condition of the town homes was very disappointing. I should have read all the previous reviews before booking.

Duplex in South Padre Island

Rented both sides of duplex… House was a little outdated but clean and lots of room. Be sure to bring some of your own kitchen cooking utensils as these were in short supply. Also hot water did not work on one side of downstairs bathroom. But overall it was a nice place. Pool and backyard were great. Not too long of walk to beach….

Confusing

Hot tub didn't work, cold & hot water were reversed on kitchen faucet Side A, mold on ceilings in bathrooms on B side. Paint peeling above stove on A side, on both sides there were alot of light switches that didn't do anything, In side A the drain line in the garage leaks & runs thru the garage to outside, washer in side B only works on one cycle, website pictures need to be update. Other than these things it was a big house for our family to be together.

The property

The listing wasn't as shown in photos. The beds were uncomfortable. The property had areas that were unsafe because railings where not attached to the wall and some of the outdoor bricks were not leveled. The ac was in consistent and some rooms the ac didn't work. Water pressure in one bathroom was poor. The hot tub doesn't work. None of the doors locked and were didn't have the correct codes. No extra toilet paper or trash bags. Toilet paper holders are falling off the wall. The only plus really was that there were plenty of dishes.

Pictures are misleading

This property is so out dated. Very disappointing. We had been planning this trip for a couple of months with our elderly, disabled parents. Sadly no where did I see that the family areas, kitchen were on the second floor! I did email to see if there was a bed room the first floor (as I assumed the main living areas would be as well) and I was told there was. But the bed room we found was so hot and away from everything else that we spent more time trying to get our parents around and comfortable. It should not have been so frustrating. There were light bulbs out, we found an open, half eaten yogurt in a night stand. A bedspread that was dirty. Some of the TV’s did not work or were not plugged in and ready for use. Some electrical plugs that did not work. Couches and rugs are extremely dirty. These two units need a lot of work. This property has lots of potential; sadly it just wasn’t what we expected or what we could use effectively for some of our family members in our group.

The place was okay.

For the price we paid, the is place was good enough. We rented both homes and both met our needs. The building is a bit old and the finishes on the floors and walls were a bit crude. The backyard definitely is not what you see in the pictures. The grass/weeds were not maintained/cut. And the yard isn’t that big at all. The pool however was clean and comfortable to swim in. Some of the amenities weren’t working like the dryer and the portable AC in House-B. It’s a good thing that we could use what’s available in House-A. Both places were clean when we arrived. They both have dishes and utensils available for us to use. The staff of Vacasa were attentive to our needs and were always willing to help. Overall, we were satisfied with the place despite the deficiencies.

It was nice but.....

The property is nice, but needs work. The location is fantastic, and the 6 bedrooms, 6 full bathrooms, and 2 kitchens works out great for a large group. However, when we got there, the place was not super clean. Upon walking in the door, the hard floors were already gritty with sand. The sliding glass door in unit A was off the track, and one of the toilet seats in unit B was broken. Both of these should have been caught by the cleaning crew and addressed before we got there. As we stayed, we learned the washing machine in unit A also didn't work due to a plumbing problem. The pool was filthy, and despite asking to have it cleaned, no one showed up. The houses are nice, but they need some TLC. Some walls are missing paint. Some of the electrical outlets don't work. The ones that do work are so "loose" that it's hard to keep the items plugged in because the plugs fall out. The bed layouts are also incorrect in the listing. In unit A, on the third floor there is a bedroom with a king bed and another bedroom with 2 twin over double bunkbeds. On the bottom floor there is a room with a double bed. In Unit B, on the third floor there is a bedroom with a king bed and another bedroom with a double bed and a twin over double bunkbed. On the bottom floor there is a room with a queen bed. This room appears to have been added as an afterthought. There is no AC in there, so they brought in a portable AC unit that kept the room mostly comfortable. However, that unit drips water due to the humidity, and the pan that catches the water has to be emptied every 6 hours or so or it overflows. So the couple that stayed in there had to get up in the middle of the night to empty the pan or there would be water all over the floor. When we checked in, the pan was overflowing and there was a lot of water we had to mop up. I don't mean to sound all negative. Despite all this, we had a great time. The house just needs some TLC and a little more attention from the property management company.

I would not recommend this house to anyone. Smelled like mold. A/C in bottom room was not working and leaked water. Floor was constantly wet. Beds were very uncomfortable. Couches were dirty and smelled. Sliding door would not open. Pool was dirty.

Great Getaway

Very nice duplexes. Just in case you wanted more information on the individual duplexes. There are a few things that one would need to know. Both sides have two sets of narrow staircases. Side B has a King bedroom and a bedroom with 2 double beds on the top floor, a kitchen, dining room and living room and powder room on the 2nd floor, and when you come in the front door and go through the garage towards the back of the garage, there is a queen bedroom, but it was very hot. There is no cable box on this side, but the 2 televisions they had were Roku televisions. Side A has a small kitchen and queen bedroom on the main floor. There is a kitchen, dining room, living room and powder room on the second floor. There is a king bedroom, and a bedroom with 2 bunk beds. the televisions are small and the only cable box is on this side (A). Both sides had nice sized balconies in the front and in the back. Our families were able to move from one side to the other through the back. The backyard was great. There were 3 barbecue grills available. Our children stayed in the swimming pool, practically the entire time (when it wasn't raining). It was also a very short walk to the beach. We were able to rent golf carts nearby and cruise the 'strip' while we were here. It was a very enjoyable time away from our 'new norm'. Also, there were sufficient number of pot, pans and utensils available on both sides. Overall, both were very nice duplexes with plenty of room for our families.

House was very accommodating for out family of 18 , loved how that each bedroom had it own bathroom, Kitchen was very well supplied and the kids loved the pool . Was are first time to south Padre and we loved it . Just being all in one place as a family made it a wonderful Christmas!!

Perfect Vacation House

House was great for our large family. Spacious, every bedroom with a bath was a huge convenience. Also, Fully equipped with all we needed and more! Remember it's a rental...

Unfortunately for us and for the person who owns this house, the previous renters partied a bit too hard. They destroyed a couch and threw up over much of the house. We had to avoid some of the bedrooms and other areas of the house due to the vomit smells. Not sure this is really the owners fault. I'm not sure what you can really do to keep people like this out. However, we made the best of it. Only downfall has been that no one contacted us to apologize or offer any future discounts due to the issue. We didn't complain as we knew there was not much they could do physically. Just would've been nice to have been reached out to in the hopes of making things right.

We sincerely apologize for the smell in the home and appreciate this guest's understanding. Housekeeping and the owner have worked together to do a thorough job of cleaning, and the home will be remodeled in the fall. We will reach out to this guest to make things right. Thanks!

The pool was nice and there were sections of the house that were nice and accommodating. Unfortunately the previous tenants must have been the partying type, because check in was delayed so that the maintenance crew could replace a couch that was destroyed and there were entire bedrooms and a kitchen area we had to avoid due to the intense vomit smells. (This isn't the fault of the property owner, but it begs the question of somehow vetting who is renting.) We had to sleep on couches and had to close off rooms completely and stay in a small section of the home due to the smells. The maintenance crew only had 5 hours to find a couch and clean a house full of vomit. That's unreasonable. Over all we made the best of it and it's possible that if there would've been different renters before us, it would've been a different review.
