Bienvenue à la retraite Riverside. Bungalow côtier des années 1940 récemment rénové tout en conservant son charme d'origine. Très propre et accueillant. Situé dans le quartier historique de Riverside, à proximité du centre-ville historique de New Bern. Accès à la rivière au parc communautaire. Beaucoup de bons restaurants, brasseries, antiquaires et boutiques, ainsi que des sites historiques et des lieux de divertissement.

Mon petit bungalow côtier est charmant et confortable. Parfait pour les célibataires et les couples. Mais s'il vous plaît pas d'enfants! Il a été récemment rénové et bien aménagé avec tous les équipements dont vous pourriez avoir besoin. C'est une belle collection d'anciens et de nouveaux objets anciens et contemporains, de découvertes balnéaires et de voyages mondains.

Amazing Property and Hospitality

Our stay at the Riverside Retreat was spectacular. Tamara was very welcoming and ensured we were all accommodated. The house was fully stocked with everything you need for a staycation. You truly only needed to bring your clothes and food. My family has stayed in a lot of VRBO properties and this one was second to none. I highly recommend it and look forward to staying there again the next time we visit New Bern. Demetrius

Enjoyed our visit to this well appointed cottage. The owner had every amenity for a comfortable stay! Cottage is in a great location to town, and was exceptionally clean! Fantastic Stay

Tamara’s coastal bungalow in Mew Bern was absolutely perfect in every way. From the welcome cookies to the cozy charm of a 1940’s home, we could not have been more pleased. The house is decorated superbly and in every tiny detail. We felt at home and thoroughly enjoyed the local area’s history. We would absolutely recommend visiting.

Wonderful stay

We loved our stay here. The house is beautifully decorated and was very well stocked with everything we could possibly need. We especially enjoyed riding the single and tandem bikes. The house is in a great location in a quiet neighborhood within easy biking distance of downtown New Bern. We would definitely stay here again!

This is by far one of the nicest VRBO we have stayed at. Decorations were top notch. Host was very very helpful and quick to respond. I would highly recommend this lovely cottage♥️

Cozy and comfortable, 1940’s era charm!

My wife and I found this lovely abode to be as perfectly accommodating as we’ve ever found in New Bern! Seriously, it is hands down the best place that we’ve stayed in visiting New Bern. It has that 1940’s charm, and every room is cozy and inviting. We had some of the best sleep while away from home ever! The location is 1 mile north of the River Front Convention Center, and historic New Bern downtown. It is clear that the owners have put much thought and effort in providing all the comforts of home, and covering all bases. Tamara was very communicative and helpful with any questions we had, and this was without question, the best experience we’ve had using VRBO. Thank you, Tamara, we hope to be back again!

Perfect birthday getaway

Tamara's cottage is better than any 5-star stay. Her cottage is stocked like home with every conceivable amenity. We met Tamara when we arrive as she was adding a final touch of fresh cut flowers to three rooms. We were celebrating my wife's birthday there and Tamara was happy to purchase a birthday cake and balloon ( we paid her for them but she did the legwork for us). One of the nicest features of her cottage was the front porch where we spent most of our non-tourist time. The neighborhood is charming, quiet, and very relaxing. We loved hearing the trains crossing the river bridge. This was our second visit to her cottage, and we plan on more early next year. We highly recommend her cottage and cannot say enough about her gracious hospitality and her communication with us to make certain that everything was good. Thank you Tamara and we will be back soon!

Best Rental Ever

Riverside Retreat was exactly as pictured and described. One of the things we most appreciated was that it was so well stocked, which allowed us to use what we needed and replace. Spice cabinet was amazing. Our bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a nice walk-in shower, important as we are an older couple. Best of all was the porch and we were out there every spare moment. We spent three weeks and we will be returning for that long or longer next year.

Cozy home away from home

Only have wonderful things to say about this absolutely adorable house! Great location...super clean...nicely decorated...fresh flowers and muffins upon arrival...used the kayaks and bikes that are available. Tamara is absolutely the most genuine, kind hostess and this VRBO is everything you will want for a visit to New Bern!

Riverside retreat get away

The property was as shown on the website, with extras like a fully stocked pantry. Great location and very peaceful neighborhood close to historic New Bern and the Neuse River. Very relaxing area.

Our best VRBO experience ever.

This cottage is a gem. It was beautifully decorated with such thoughtful touches for guests. There were fresh-cut flowers in the kitchen, living room and bedroom as well as blueberry crumb bread and nice welcome note. K-cups were provided along with sweetener and half-and-half. We didn't cook while we were there, but the kitchen was well-appointed with cookware and all the amenities. The location was perfect as well, and we were a 3-minute drive (or a 15-minute walk) to restaurants, shops and historic sites in New Bern. We enjoyed sitting on the porch with coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. I can't say enough about how thoughtful Tamara, the owner, is. She gave us check-in info a couple days in advance and checked in on us after our first night. It's obvious that she genuinely wants her guests to feel welcome. FIVE STARS PLUS!!

Best VRBO we’ve ever had!

The bungalow was just adorable! Comfy furnishings and beautifully decorated! Our host was so thoughtful! We had fresh flowers, baked goods and a huge assortment of coffee and tea pods. There was a lovely welcome note and a text the next day to make sure our stay was great. We were comfortable, felt safe and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were in town for a conference, and are already planning another stay just for us! It was first rate!

I am a travel luster, mother, wife, speech therapist. I have lived in New Bern for 30 years and absolutely love the area. I moved away 12 years ago to marry a man with four sons. The purchase of this home allowed me the freedom to come back to New Bern regularly and to share my love of the area, as well as my hosting and decorating passions with others.
I have always wanted to do a renovation/restoration project of an old home and this afforded me the opportunity to do so. I am a lover of old homes and all of their charms as well as a collector and picker of interesting furniture and decorative items. This home is a cumulative effort of my pursuits in these areas. I do hope that you will find delight in the decor, amenities, comforts, and charm that this old home and New Bern has to offer.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

There was so much that drew me to this home. I love the charm of this Old Southern front porch with its large columns; the detail in the brickwork on the front of the foundation; the hardwood floors; and the old shiplap walls in the closet and bathroom. Its size is perfect for its comfort and coziness. The neighborhood is quiet and quaint. The area is redeveloping and is convenient to Downtown and all of New Bern.

Hardwood floors throughout. High ceilings, beautiful sunlit rooms. Great Southern Front porch. Quaint back yard. Quiet and charming sidewalk neighborhood located in Historic District. 5-minute drive to Downtown. 1.2 miles to downtown, so an easy bike ride or walk. Water access 2 blocks from the house in the way of a small public park where you can picnic, wade, swim, put in a paddleboard, kayak, or canoe. Located a block from the Neuse River.
