Slightly Further afield, there are pubs serving food in Muker and Low Row, which can be reached via footpaths with stunning views. The surrounding area offers miles of walking trails, including Calver Hill, the Old Gang Smelting Mill and Kisdon Force (all within 6.5 miles). Heading south-west, the market town of Hawes (10.5 miles) has a choice of great places to eat and drink, with attractions including the Dales Countryside Museum, Gayle Mill and the Wensleydale Creamery. Along the eastern edge of the Dales, you can explore Middleham Castle, The Forbidden Corner and the thriving town of Richmond (all within 19 miles).

Follow the steps to the entrance of this characterful hideaway. Before heading inside, take a moment to appreciate the surrounding scenery of rolling hills and other stone-built cottages. Inside, the accommodation combines original features, such as exposed ceiling beams and a stone fireplace, with modern comforts for a cosy stay. At ground-floor level, the lounge invites you to unwind between days out. Here, you can sink into the soft seating, flick through the Smart TV and enjoy the glow of the electric burner set into the original fireplace. Completing this level is a handy utility/boot room with space to store walking boots and outdoor gear. Head upstairs to find the well-appointed kitchen/diner, which features everything needed for cooking and enjoying your holiday meals.
