In the heart of Florence - perfect location! Easy walk to train and everything else. The communication before arrival was not as timely as other places we rented, so I had a few moments of hoping we werenât being scammed. It was a new listing on VRBO. Once we arrived all was well. It is up some steep old stairs so not only rent if that is no problem for you with luggage. 2 bedrooms are divided by a movable bookcase wall and there is only AC in one of them, so no privacy or too hot. AC in living area / fold out couch was adequate. We tripped the power breaker one night trying to use the dishwasher washer. Sibilla came over right in 30 minutes and got it turned back on. She also helped us book our taxi for early in the morning to the airport before the trains were running. Very nice lady. Overall the location was amazing - you could look out the kitchen window over one of the main walking streets and yet it was not loud while sleeping.
It is an old apartment but "refreshed" for rental. Nothing luxury but comfortable enough for us.The location is almost right near to Duomo Florence, useful, since they have strictly no bags rule -- but they have cloak room.Restaurants and shops right down stairs (second floor, so you have to walk up with your luggage), but surprisingly quiet once the windows are closed at night.2 small "box aircons", one for living room and one for the big bedroom. A fan is also provided.Kitchen is ok for small meal, but no kitchen towel or paper and we didn't find dishwashing liquid or sponge too. We did find one dishwasher cube for 2 nights stay though.Small washing machine and toiletries provided. If you come with a car, do take parking garage cost into your consideration, make a booking. Right downtown is 35 euro per day. (i think the apartment street is pedestrians only, so you have to bring your luggage from the garage, no loading-unloading even if you have a ZTL pass -- parking garage will "void" the ZTL for you.)We arrived late in the afternoon, had ZTL pass, found a street parking (blue lines- around 3 euros per hour) 1km from the apartment and the next thing we knew was, our car window was smashed along with half of the cars which had parked there.
