Welcome to The Nest, a charming two-bedroom first-floor apartment located in a peaceful corner of the picturesque coastal town of Oban. Perfectly positioned near local shops, restaurants, and cafes, this delightful Victorian apartment offers a comfortable and convenient base for your Scottish getaway. Whether youâre planning to explore the stunning Argyll countryside or set sail on an island-hopping adventure from the 'Gateway to the Isles,' The Nest is your ideal home away from home.
This spacious and light-filled apartment blends period charm with modern comforts. The master bedroom boasts a luxurious superking bed, ensuring a restful nightâs sleep, while the second bedroom features two cosy single beds and offers captivating views of the bay and the historic St. Columba's Cathedral. The apartment retains many original Victorian features, including high ceilings and elegant bay windows, adding to its unique character. As with many older buildings, it has its quirks, which only enhance its charm and make it a memorable place to stay. The inviting lounge is the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploration. Sink into the two large leather sofas and enjoy your favourite shows on the 60" smart TV, or choose from a selection of books and board games for a cosy evening in. The room is bright and airy, providing a welcoming atmosphere to relax and recharge. The fully equipped kitchen is ready for you to whip up delicious meals with all modern conveniences at your fingertips, including a coffee maker for your morning brew. Enjoy your meals while gazing out over the lush back lawn with the stunning cathedral in the backgroundâa perfect setting to start your day. The newly renovated bathroom offers a refreshing rain shower with an additional handheld option, ensuring a spa-like experience. Please note that there is a separate toilet, characteristic of the apartmentâs age, which does not have a hand basin within it.
Parking closest to the apartment is paid on-street, chargeable between 9 am and 6 pm daily. For more extended parking options, we recommend the nearby Corran Halls car park or one of the other convenient paid car parks around town.
The 'Top End' of town is a peaceful and quiet but still only a short walk away from the waterfront and town centre with many places to eat, drink and shop. The local swimming pool is also just a 2 minute walk away from The Nest.
The best way to explore the township is on foot as the roads can get a bit congested in the summer months. If you are wanting to go further afield, the train, bus and ferry terminals are a 5 minute walk from the apartment.
While there is parking behind the building, this is not for guests to use. Parking needs to be on the street at all times
