Incroyable 5 chambres et 4. 5 salles de bain maison à ossature bois sur le lac James. Confortable et lumineux avec plan d'étage à aire ouverte; fabuleuse cathédrale grande salle, fenêtres du sol au plafond, foyer au gaz d'écorce de peuplier et cuisine personnalisée avec comptoirs en bois dur. Cette maison a 2 ensuites principales de niveau principal; une salle familiale en mezzanine au deuxième étage avec coin bar; lit / bain ensuite au deuxième étage; salle de bain complète au deuxième étage; chambre avec lits superposés et chambre d'amis; grand porche grillagé avec foyer au bois en pierre; grande terrasse donnant sur la cour arrière LEVEL et le lac James; un jacuzzi hors du pont et un gril à gaz pour tous vos besoins de barbecue en plein air. Faites une courte promenade dans l'escalier en bois jusqu'à un belvédère couvert niché dans les rhododendrons surplombant le lac. Plus de marches vers le lac. Il y a 89 marches pour descendre au lac, mais il y a des passerelles et des bancs pour se reposer pour les fatigués! Beaucoup d'espace pour s'amuser sur le quai couvert avec deux glissades avec terrasse de divertissement, douche extérieure et plage au bord de l'eau.

Could be better maintained

House is more than adequately equipped, but it needs a lot of TLC, especially the stairs and decks to the boat house. Boat house is in bad shape! House needs a deep cleaning. We still had a great time on the lake, after renting a boat from the marina. (The info about the local guy who brings you a boat is not at all accurate)

Enjoyable 70th Birthday Celebration with Kids & Grandkids

My kids have always made a big deal about my “decade” birthdays. We’ve gone to Six Flags, Disneyworld, and the Chicago Water Show. For this decade year, I just wanted to chill by the lake, enjoy the scenery, get out on our boat, and do some fishing without having to drive there. This home provided a wonderful backdrop for “the best!” (Grandkids) family vacation and party. The kitchen amenities are terrific! The layout of the bedrooms and bathrooms are perfect for a large family. The grandkids loved playing flashlight tag (with iPhones) in the backyard which has a lot of level ground before sloping down to the lake. We had a truly amazing time and it was a wonderful birthday celebration! Thank you.

Wonderful Stay on Lake James

Our family of 8 adults (and one infant) had a wonderful stay at this property. Plenty of room and very comfortable. The house had everything we needed and is well located on Lake James (very close to the marina). The hosts were fantastic and very responsive. Highly recommend this lake house to any large group visiting Lake James!

Wedding weekend

My son got married that weekend in Marion and this was the perfect house for our family to stay. We were close to the wedding venue and the grandparents felt at home in this great house! Would be a great summer vacation site! Didn’t get to enjoy the lake but it would have been such a relaxing weekend if we had been there for vacation!

Fun place to stay!

We love Lake James and enjoyed our stay! There was plenty of space for 4 adults and 4 teenagers to spread out. The double decker dock was a great place to relax and fun to jump off of. There are more stairs to get up & down than we realized from the pictures, but it wasn’t an issue. The kayaks were great, too. We would come back for sure.

Home away from home!

We’ve stayed at this house several times now and just love it. The size, quality, and amenities are terrific.There were a couple of issues that arose during our stay and the owner was super responsive and friendly. The lake dock is the BEST and entertains all ages. The Lake James area has so much to offer - the beautiful, scenic lake surrounded by our much beloved NC Blue Ridge mtns, the town with delish restaurants and breweries, Asheville is a close drive along with the Linville area for hiking and wandering as well. Be forewarned that the walk down to the lake has a lot of stairs. There are benches along the way for those that need a break. My elderly, infirm parents were able to manage in spurts. Otherwise, totally do-able and worth the walk down! We will be back for sure! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Great place to make memories!!

First off the community is beautiful! As you pass the gate you are well aware that you are going to see beautifully maintained homes and surrounding areas. Check in was extremely smooth as very clear and accurate instructions are given. We had a range of ages in our vacation from 78 to 6 yrs of age. The house has something that most houses does not have when having lake access, a yard! We were able to throw around a football, run and play on actual grass! The fire pit and chairs were great as we made s’mores almost every night. We also really enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. The dock was great, but the steps were no joke coming back up for us “older folks.” We opted to drive to the Bear Creek Marina to load and unload the boat to those who didn’t want to go the steps route which was no trouble at all. The hosts checked on us to make sure that everything was going smoothly throughout our stay which was great! We had fun making all these new memories together!

Beautiful lake house

Easy checkin and good communication. House was perfect for our family weekend get together. Everything was provided that we needed. Not their fault, but there’s a house being built literally in their backyard and we had to deal with construction noise and disturbances while trying to enjoy a peaceful day on the lake (only downfall from the stay). I would recommend this house

Great Family Vacation

We loved our time at Lake James! The owners of the home are amazing and provide excellent communication… they really want their guests to enjoy themselves and do whatever it takes to ensure that happens! We loved spending time at the dock, swimming, kayaking, fishing and just being lazy. There aren’t any docks close by so it’s nice and private. If you go out kayaking at dusk you might get lucky and see a few river otters playing in the water by the banks! House is well equipped and even provided plenty of beach towels. Thanks, John and Kim, for everything and providing a wonderful place for our family to relax and spend quality time together!

Perfect family vacation!

We had a wonderful long weekend at The Arbor! The home was large enough for 8 adults, 1 teenager, and a 14 month old. We loved mornings and evenings in the screened-in porch with the fireplace. The double decker dock was perfect for lounging during the day. Also, the owners were so easy to communicate with. We will definitely be back!

Girlfriends' Getaway

We had a great stay! There were 6 of us. We do an annual trip every year and this was our 8th year. John was extremely helpful and responsive. The beds were very comfortable. The house was very well stocked. The lake was beautiful! We visited a couple of trails while we were there that were easy to navigate. We had a wonderful weekend! Hope to visit again!

My family and I had the greatest time staying at this property. We were so amazed by how clean and true to the original posting this house is. The location so close to many fun activities and places was perfect to enjoy time outdoors. I can’t wait to go back again!

Nice location, but house didn't live up to expectations

The house is located in a great neighborhood with beautiful views of the lake and mountains. It does have a neighborhood gate which was nice for safety, and we used the garage code to get in the cabin. The code provided on the check in directions was wrong, and a separate code was emailed but I didn't see it until after contacting the property manager. Probably my fault. The house was large enough for our extended family and overall had a nice layout to hang out and enjoy our time. However, unfortunately there are certain areas of the house that are not well kept, such as the deck, stairs, and outside furniture. There was also dog hair and dust on our bed and all over the family room floor when we arrived, as well as nail clippings on the side of our bed. The house was not cleaned as it was supposed to be, and had clear signs someone was there with a dog prior without a cleaning after. Another huge disappointment was the hot tub. It was not cleaned at all, had a strong odor to it and was slimy on the inside. It was unusable for any intended purpose. Extremely disappointing considering the nightly rate to stay here. Lastly, the sink was leaking in the kitchen under the counter which needed to be dried and cleaned. We were told to put a bucket under it to stop the dripping, and did so. Overall, not a great experience.

Fall Weekend Getaway

My children and some of their friends also attending Wake Forest joined my husband and I for a pretty weekend on the lake and hiking in the area. The house was perfectly configured for our group of 12. We were all able to have our own spaces when needed. The house is as advertised and is beautifully built and appointed. I know some have complained about the steps on the dock, but the dock area is quite impressive and worth the walk down. The homeowners were very pleasant and accommodating, and we did not have any complaints. We would like to return when the weather is warmer and enjoy the lake even more, as it is quite a beautiful lake.

Autumn Lake life!

Very much enjoyed our stay at this large home! There were 11 CrossFit women celebrating multiple birthdays. We loved having the boat already there for us and no need to return or fill up - mr Mike is the best! Spent the evenings around the fireplaces talking and enjoying being together. The hosts were responsive and I feel they will address any issues we had in a timely manner. I appreciate them accommodating our group.

Wedding weekend stay

We stayed at this home for our son’s wedding weekend in nearby Morganton. The location is excellent, a really beautiful neighborhood. The house was just perfect for our needs.

Guys weekend get together

Spent 4 nights at this property with 8 friends and everyone loved the facility and lake front access, property owner connected us with a boat service and we rented a pontoon for one full day. Used the fire pit 3 nights and enjoyed the boat dock deck and deck off main home several times. Owner was very responsive and is a great communicator. We’ll be back

Family vacation

Had a great time. House is set-up well for large family gatherings. Plenty of space for different activities. The house needs a bit of work and some updated pictures on the website. The owners were responsive to our questions and concerns. Our grandchildren loved having the rental boat delivered to the boathouse, relaxing in the hot tub, and seeing fireflies. It is a beautiful piece of property on a lovely part of the lake. Yes, there are a lot of stairs, but it is worth the experience.

Luxury log home

Plenty of room/plenty of rooms…to have private conversations, quiet chess corner, large group seating for movie nights, large hot tub, fire pit gathering … we had several groups doing their own thing at the same time! Never felt cramped!

Kim and John live in New York and really enjoy getting away to Lake James to enjoy it's beautiful lake and mountain life. We cannot get there as often as we like, so we are renting it and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
