à propos de cet hébergement
HONEYSTONES, Moreton-in-Marsh, close to the train
Our townhouse is the perfect getaway location in the Cotswolds whether you are looking for a family holiday or just a romantic weekend for two. Situated in Moreton-in-marsh just a short walk to the town centre and the train station and with easy parking.
Tastefully furnished and full of original art with a choice of two lovely double bedrooms and a kids bunk room bed as well as a newly refurbished bathroom and a homely kitchen Dining room. This is the perfect base to explore the Cotswolds.
The space
Four Shires House is a 19C townhouse built from local golden cotswold stone which features in cutaway form internally in all the rooms. The house is welcoming and homely with three tasteful bedrooms and lovely living room and a kitchen ding space.
The ground floor consists of a large living room with a Log burning stove and a nice mixture of comfortable seating to relax after a day of exploring the surrounding area. For entertainment we provide a TV, Wifi and an xbox with a selection of games and Netflix. We also provide some board games, cards and a selection of books.
Behind the living room is the kitchen/diner which centres around the large dining table which comfortably seats six if you need it to. The kitchen has all the kit you need if you are cooking and a dish washer to take the load off. There is also a coffee machine to kick start your mornings. The downstairs is completed with a toilet closet and a utility so you can do some washing if you are staying longer.
Heading upstairs to the first floor is the second bedroom which has a lovely pine double bed, is tastefully furnished and has more space than most double bedrooms. It also boasts a built in wardrobe and a shower and sink in the alcove.
The kids room is also on the first floor and has a low bunk bed perfect for your kids or grandkids. AirBnB doesn't give us flexibility over age ratings so we have signed up to allow over 2s however we would recommend that over four is more appropriate for bunk beds and the stairs in the property. We do not provide stair gates nor allow you to fit your own so if in doubt please contact us to discuss whether your children are appropriate for the property.
Also on the first floor is the family bathroom. Freshly renovated this features a roll top type bath with a no tap/overflow filling arrangement and thermostatic shower over the top.
Up the short flight of stairs to the second floor you will find the master bedroom with exposed beams, partially wood clad and with stained glass window. This room is timeless, spacious though a little limited in head room. It boasts a king size pine bed, a built in wardrobe and relaxing seating as well as views out over the town towards Stow.
Stairs are a feature in the house so it may not be so suitable for the very old or the very young. The house contains much original artwork and lots of tasteful touches, exposed stonework and woodwork.
Four Shires house is named after the Four Shires stone just up the road which marks the location where four county boundaries used to meet (and three still do). The house is a great base for walking in the area and we provide a set of walk plans you might find helpful. We are also happy for you to bring your dog(s) with you , though we do ask for them to stay on the ground floor.
Guest access
The House is yours to use entirely and none of it is closed off to visitors. Routine access is from the front door on London Road. There is a read access to the kitchen through the courtyard of the old Wellington pub conversion which might be better suited when returning from muddy walks.
Other things to note
We are happy for you to bring your dogs with you but ask please that they stay on the ground floor during your visit.
You will be staying in a town house spread out over three floors and being an old house it has steep stairs. This means it won't be for everyone. If you have young children and use stair gates at home then this isn't for you.
