Elegant 4 Bed Victorian House in Clapham Old Town

This modern and spacious home has recently been refurbished, offering 4 large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a double reception room and a dine-in kitchen that opens out onto a private patio. The house is perfectly situated near the park on a leafy street in the heart of Clapham Old Town, with convenient access to Wandsworth Road train station (3 min walk) and Clapham North and Clapham Common underground stations (both a 10 min walk).

The space
This family home has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished in a sophisticated and elegant style. As you step into the hallway, a spacious double living room welcomes you to the left. This inviting space boasts wood floors, a fireplace, high ceilings and plenty of light from the bay window. Furnished with a large corner sofa, modern smart tv, reading nook and an antique writing desk, it is perfect for both relaxation and focused work.

Further down the hallway is the large family dine-in kitchen which opens out onto a cosy patio complete with gas BBQ grill and outdoor seating, perfect for al fresco moments.

The kitchen is a cook’s dream, equipped with a large gas range, multiple ovens and ample cabinetry. A Nespresso machine, microwave, dishwasher and kitchen essentials are all within reach. A large wooden dining table completes
the room and seats 6-8 guests with ease.

Upstairs the elegance continues, four generous bedrooms are split over two floors and have been carefully designed with beautiful textiles and timeless wall colours. All bedrooms feature built-in wardrobes and exceptionally comfortable mattresses, with a selection of pillows and hypoallergenic bedding for a restful stay.

On the first floor, there is the primary bedroom which is incredibly spacious and features a dressing table and a walk-through closet that leads into the large family bathroom. The twin room is on the same floor and is perfect for younger guests or non-sharers and it conveniently has access to the family bathroom via the landing. There is also an additional toilet on this floor. On the
top floor, there are another two large bedrooms and each has en-suite shower rooms, providing ample space and privacy for everyone.

Bedroom set up : Hotel-quality linens, fresh towels and toiletries are provided.

3 x king beds are made up with double duvet / comforters - each king bed also has a throw for both decoration and extra warmth if required.
1 x twin room is made up with 2 x single beds, each of which have a single duvet / comforter. There is 1 x spare single duvet in the cupboard.

Children and Babies : there are 2 x pack n play cribs in the house located in various cupboards for you to use for children. Please ensure you inform us ahead of time so that we can provide sheets for this.

We also have a 1x infant seat that can be attached to the main table in the dining room, this is located in the kitchen cupboard: please attach and use at your own discretion.

The house will be professionally cleaned before your arrival.

Guest access
You will have total access to my place so please treat it as your own and respect it. I aim to make each of my guests comfortable by allowing everyone to enjoy my place in its entirety.

Other things to note
-We provide complimentary fresh linen, towels, and toiletries (shower gel, soap, shampoo) for your stay!

-Please note that ADDITIONAL linen costs ÂŁ30 per pack. Message me if you need it and I will tell you where it is stored or arrange a delivery. For additional cleaning please contact me as well.

-We can accommodate late check-in after 9 pm for a fee of ÂŁ30.

-Please kindly confirm your arrival time at least 24 hours in advance. If you don't do so, I cannot guarantee your check-in at the requested time.

-Late check-out requested in advance is available at ÂŁ30 per hour. The latest check-out time is 1 pm.
Unauthorized late check-out will be charged at ÂŁ50 per hour.

Smoking in the house is strongly prohibited! Penalty ÂŁ500.

Great space!

We enjoyed our time at the elegant 4-bedroom Victorian house in Clapham. The photos well represent the house and layout, everything was clean and well cared for and well appointed with linens, towels, and amenities. A few small cons I would have liked to know about before booking: 1. There’s no bathroom on the main floor. No one in our group had any mobility issues, but something to keep in mind as you book that all bedrooms and bathrooms are up a steep flight of stairs which means even using the toilet while hanging out in the kitchen or living room meant a trip upstairs. 2. Further communications were sent before checkin but after booking instructing no noise of any kind after 9 pm. While we were a quiet group with zero intentions to throw parties or make excessive noise, the house is for 8 people, which is difficult to eliminate all noise at such an hour such that we were slightly worried the whole time about the rules concerning noise and neighbors and it hampered our enjoyment a bit as we wanted to stay up past 9 pm and visit with our friends we had traveled with to see. 3. We were instructed roofers would need access during our stay which was a bit of a bummer as we were traveling from overseas and didn’t know what time “first thing” would entail. We never got any more details, and throughout the day calls from the owner asked if the roofers had come yet (we didn’t know since we were out enjoying the town). I wish this maintenance had been taken care of between guests.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. The owner was very responsive and the house nicely appointed. Although not as centrally located and close to major cultural attractions as other places in London, several transportation options were relatively easy to walk to. Overall a very enjoyable stay. Would recommend this rental for those interested in a mid-range price point.
