The stunning Newlands Valley can be found close by, between Braithwaite and Buttermere, and Bassenthwaite Lake is a sight to behold. From a leisurely stroll through the countryside to a strenuous ascent of Skiddaw or the renowned Catbells, there is a walk here for everyone. Take a fantastic boat trip around Derwentwater, or check out Castlerigg Stone Circle, Jennings Brewery, and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake.
