A very good property, clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was very well equipped which was nice. I think some aspects could do with a bit of maintenance.
Samantha was helpful too.
Sitges was nice, but a bit dirty compared to other parts of Catalonia, so that was a small disappointment. Also, the apartment was not cheap, but that was to be expected when booking at the last minute.
Overall it was a good property and stay in Sitges, although not quite a perfect 5 stars.
Pros: The location of this flat is great. Walking distance to shops, tapas bars, the beach, grocery stores, the train station - everything. It is fairly well stocked although plan on hitting the market pretty quickly (for example- there was one roll of toilet paper and a tiny bit of hand soap available to us when we checked in so we needed to stock up pretty quick) The size of the flat was perfect for our family of 4 (two kids aged 6 & 5)
Tip: there are no beach towels and each person is given only one very thin bath towel so either pack beach towels from home or purchase large sheets from the vendors selling by the beach (this is what we did)
The reason I took off a star: our travel day entailed: a 2 hour drive to los angeles airport, an 11 hour flight from LAX to Madrid, a 3 hour layover in Madrid, and hour flight from Madrid to barcelona, a 25 minute drive from barcelona to sitges. Our flight from Mad to Bcn was delayed by nearly two hours which meant we were pulling into sitges around 9pm. I alerted the owners about our delay and was told to wait outside the flat for the property manager to let us in. We ended up waiting about 20-30 minutes out front (not horrible, but not great with two young kids after a travel day like that one) Management showed us around the place, squared away passports and payment etc. and then requested a 30 euro fee for the late check-in. Ugh. I don't remember reading anything in the booking contract about that - it seemed a bit unfair after waiting out front awhile to be let in, but I was too tired to argue it. The more I thought about it though the more it just seemed yuck to me.
BEAUTIFUL - old town Sitges - surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars - 1/2 block from the beach!
Antonio & Maria, Thank you for a wonderful stay in your Penthouse! From our first contact via email, I was impressed with your quick and complete answers to my many questions. All of the information and pictures on the website and the information you provided were accurate but did not even come close to describing the cleanliness, beauty and abundance of space, it was superb! We almost lived on the terrace, bright and sunny and then the solarium was on the rooftop was amazing. Always seemed to have an sea breeze to keep us cool, even on the hot days! We arrived in Sitges from Barcelona and expected to "explore" Spain from what seemed like a lovely little town. Much to our surprise, WE LOVED IT SO MUCH, we didn't even go into Barcelona, but spent our days on the beach and walking through the charming town. We felt very safe and loved the neighbourhood. We found the kitchen well equipped an enjoyed cooking our meals in, as I have a few allergies it was fantastic to cook the things we love and enjoy the outdoor space and views while we dined. Thank you Antonio for arranging to meet us early on our check in day as we arrived from the cruise ship and didn't want to have to drag our luggage around until late on that arrival day. The Property Manager, Samantha was exceptionally good, always on hand to help and provide assistance and suggestions. She was able to arrange for a car and driver to take us around the winery area and down the coast to Roe Sant Galeta. Beautiful and the driver was very good. Thank you again! I would recommend your apartment and the service to anyone. AAA+
