Gite attached to 15th Century Manor with heated pool and fishing lake

Dating back to the 15th Century and steeped in history, the manoir, gites, lake and woodland originally belonged to the overlooking chateau.
Today at Gites La Vallée we offer two well equipped, 3 bedroom, self catering holiday cottages. Outside you will find a 10 x 5 meter heated, outdoor swimming pool (open mid-may to end September) with retractable abri cover, children's play area, fishing lake and around seven acres of grounds - including garden and woodland to explore.
The gites have been renovated from the original granite barns. Each gite has it's own particular character and charm, with many of the original oak beams and stonework features retained. Both have all modern conveniences, including dishwasher and washing machine, Nespresso coffee machine, flat screen TV with French TV and UK Freesat, DVD, Bluetooth audio system, free Wi-Fi, charcoal BBQ and individual outdoor dining areas.
Downstairs both gites have a kitchen area with dining table and separate lounge area with settees. Upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms, one with double bed and two with two single beds. Each bedroom has a wardrobe. There is a full bathroom with bath and overhead shower, wash basin and toilet. There is a further separate toilet.
The indoor games room features a pool table, table football and dart board. There is a ping pong table undercover outside the games room.

Wonderful stay

We really enjoyed our stay at La Vallée! Spacious, a beautiful garden (so many butterflies 😍) and a lovely swimming pool where the girls spent hours 😊. We can really recommend it to families.

A lovely stay

A wonderful gite. Kids loved all the amenities on site and a great location for exploring the local area. Hosts were very helpful when we needed and very nice. Would definitely head back when we can. 👍

Fantastic stay

Our family had a brilliant stay here for a week in june - very comfortable, very well equipped and nicely styled gite, in a beautiful setting with lovely grounds. The pool and games room are fantastic, a great range of games and toys for the pool and play area, and kept us entertained all week, and having bikes on site to borrow was a plus. The owners could not be more friendly, really thoughtful and helpful and knowledgeable about the local area and things to do. The location is an easy drive from the ferry and easy to find, well placed for lots of interesting day trips. All three generations of the family had a wonderful time here, it surpassed our expectations and we would very happily stay here again.

Better than we expected

Nick and Jo were very friendly and nice. Apartment was good and functional for our needs. Pool area was perfect, children liked it very much. Property itself was well kept, quiet and beautiful. Children and adults alike think ducks were very funny. Location was very countryside, but we were expecting that.

Lovely welcome from friendly hosts. The property met our needs. Facilities fantastic.

The property was full of character and beautifully decorated with a well equipped kitchen. The facilities were super especially the pool, which could be covered on thoes not so hot days and always at a temperature comfortabld to swim. The children loved the games room and the oppertunity to use the bikes provided. The lake was an added bonus that we hadn't expected. The property was well situated and within easy driving distance of lovely beaches and places of intetest. Overall a fantastic place to stay with charm and character which has been well thought out to cater for a families needs and owed by lovely people.

LOVELY.

Quite, private, relaxed. A lovely gite in a 15th Century manor building, with thick walls so it's beautifully cool inside. comfortably equipped with lovely grounds. Great facilities (swimming pool with sliding cover, games room and play area as well as a beautiful lake). Easy reach of Dinan (beautiful medieval town and port). Nick and Jo (owners) very friendly and helpful with local info, and also provided a hamper on arrival (lovely local supper of cheese, rilettes and craquelins was very welcome after our long/delayed journey). Would be happy to recommend to anybody.

Sowohl die Wohnung selbst, aber auch der Unterhaltungsraum mit Billardtisch und der große Pool haben alle Erwartungen erfüllt. Wir unternahmen von hier aus als Familie Ausflüge nach Dinan, die römischen Fundstätten in Coriosolis/Corseul, nach Quiou, Becherel, Rennes, St. Briac, Dinard und Mt. Saint Michel. Alles war sehr gut erreichbar und wir konnten uns nach den Ausflügen sehr gut erholen. Insbesondere der überdachte und beheizte Pool war für unsere drei Teenager eine tolle Abwechslung.

An oasis of calm (even with small kids!)

We are just back from the most wonderful week spent at Gites la Vallee. Our gite was lovely. Perfectly clean and well-equipped. The pool was a real treat for the boys and the setting is absolutely beautiful. Jo and Nick live on site and are there to answer any queries you might have but at the same time you have all the privacy you need. Having only quite recently discovered Brittany I think we would be hard pushed to find anywhere as nice to stay as this this gem. Thank you Jo and Nick!

What a lovely property and such gracious, welcoming hosts!

We absolutely loved our time at Gites La Vallee! We were so impressed with all the thoughtful details. What first struck us was the beauty and serenity of the property. It exceeded our expectations. We had been looking hard for a rental that would happily accommodate ages 9-86 and we were not disappointed! The cottage itself is cozy, charming and tasteful, with lovely views and many amenities that really helped to make the trip easier: a very well-appointed kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, electric tea kettle, ample dish and cookware and great counter space to cook. There is seating in the kitchen if preferred or weather dictates, but the outside area is so lovely and we mostly ate and sat out there. We also used the outdoor grill many evenings. The kitchen came stocked with tea, coffee, sugar. milk, dish soap, hand soap, cleaners, etc, as well as a wonderful Welcome Basket, giving us a few staples before we had to dash to the market. Saturday the markets are open, but Sundays, many are closed altogether or only open half day! The house itself was very clean and though there are two comfy couches and a very nice TV and great wifi, we often sat outside in the evenings. Having the the extra half bath was key with a larger group and the main bath with a large tub/shower, always with hot water, was wonderful. There is no A/C but the large windows open and the downstairs especially stays quite cool, even in very hot weather, due to the stone construction. The outdoor areas are so lovely and well thought out. The large pool with its telescoping cover was amazing. Not only did it provide shelter from wind or rain, but also from sunburn. The water was clean and a great temperature and it was like swimming in a greenhouse! And there are pool toys and floats! There is a game room with a pool table and table football, bocce, croquet and bicycles to ride, as well as board games to play in the living room cabinet. There are three adorable ducks who come to say hi and a little lake for a stroll, as well as a play yard with a swing set and a trampoline. We ventured to the beach often and explored the coast and various villages easily. There was another nice family in the other cottage but we only ever noticed each other in passing or when at the pool together, such as is the well thought out layout. Our hosts were readily available to help with directions, suggestions or to answer any questions we might have. This place is a gem!

Ein ganz zauberhaftes Anwesen mit ebenso zauberhaften Vermietern. Unglaubliche Wohnung auf einem wirklich tollen Grundstück mit einem tollen Pool. Super ausgestattet mit liebe zum Detail. Jo und Nick sind wirklich sehr liebe Menschen - schön, dass wir uns kennen lernen durften.

What a lovely holiday house! Comfortable, very well equipped, beautifully deceorated. We loved it!

Jo and Nick made us feel very welcome indeed. They have gone to a great deal of trouble to create exactly the right 'home away from home' feel to the gites and rest of the property. Our various ages ranged from 2 to nearly 60 and we all felt really comfortable and able to relax. Everything that we needed was right there and some days it was difficult to drag ourselves away from the beautiful grounds and pool to go and explore the local area. Having a sliding cover to the pool is a stroke of genius and we were able to swim and have fun in the water every day. Jo and Nick were so approachable and were able to offer us brilliant advice and information about things to do and places to visit. The village is a short pleasant walk away from the gite and I enjoyed exploring the various pathways that led to it and coming back with fresh supplies from the boulangerie. The area is very pretty, the coast line is gorgeous, Dinan is only a stone's throw away and a wonderful place to explore and shop and all in all, we had an absolutely terrific holiday. We brought this property, Gites La Vallee, in 2016, already a successful gite business and fishing lake for over 10 years. I am a qualified Body Control Pilates teacher, having run my own classes successfully in Kent, UK for several years - so we will be looking to add this to our repertoire some time in the future.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We knew that this was an ideal holiday location, having holidayed in France and this area many times ourselves. Medieval Dinan, good food, uncrowded roads, friendly locals, picturesque towns and villages, beautiful coastline and beaches - who could ask for anything more.
We are on the outskirts of a small village, Plumaudan, with its own boulangerie, bar tabac, mini market and pharmacy. Close to medieval Dinan with its many shops, restaurants and leisure activities. Not forgetting the beautiful port area.
Airport at Rennes and, our nearest port, the picturesque St Malo, both around 30 minutes away. It is a great place for walking, cycling and fishing and just a short drive away there are many unspoilt sandy beaches and rocky coves to suit everyone.
