Background:
The 'Palazzo Bucciolini', which takes its name from the family, already owner of the 'Palazzo Bucciolini, formerly Pitti', bought it in the mid-nineteenth century, a time when Florence was the capital of Italy. In the entrance hall, in the center of the vault and on the front of the gate, is the family crest.
The frescoes date back to the mid-18th century. As in many historic buildings there is no lift, but there are 22 steps to get to the apartment.
The street where it is located, Via delle Caladaie, owes its name to the boilers of the Arte della Lana which were numerous in the Oltrarno area and which were used to heat the pools for dyeing the clothes.
