Sometimes if there's snow, you gotta go! This was a spontaneous family fun weekend! Just hanging out together and snow tubing! Great fun and great accommodations. The house was a great fit for our family of ten (and one dog). Fairly easy to get to (if you're properly prepared) and comfortable. We would recommend this property.
We had a wonderful time at Grand View. It was well equipped and had enough sleeping quarters and bathrooms for our party of 7. Definitely would stay here again!
We liked the location and the property, was clean and organized. The only issue was almost all the pans in the kitchen were overused and very scratched but otherwise everything was good.
We had a wonderful time! The weather wasnât the best, but, we made the best of it! The house had a great layout for our family! My only negative is it wasnât as clean as we would have liked plus, it was a little dark. Really need brighter light bulbs! Besides that, it was great!
House was spacious and clean. The only problems were the mattress up stairs need replacing and not enough towels. I had very sleepless nights on my bed.
Overall this property was nice! The biggest complaint was dirty dishes in the drawers and cabinets. We had to wash everything before using it. The next complaint is the mattresses. They were very uncomfortable in every bedroom. They definitely need to be replaced!!! Having a bathroom in each bedroom was very nice. Fireplaces are very cozy!!!!
Overall this house is great. Itâs clean, well stocked and perfect for a family with young children. It is the perfect place to stay in the fall, spring and summer.
Our issue is that the drive way is very dangerous when not appropriately cared for. We arrived this past Friday, to a driveway covered in five plus inches of ice. It had not snowed since the previous weekend before. All roads and side
Roads were clear, including the very steep side road leading to the house. Their policy is anything 3 inches of accumulation and under they do not plow. This was clearly over 3 inches, that they allowed to sit for a week and refreeze back over.
We were able to get both all wheel drive vehicles in the driveway, but then we could not get back out. We called for help, and explained the driveway was not plowed and that the sand left to help with traction was left opened so it was frozen and of no use. We were told Todd from maintenance was on his way. He never showed. We emailed again the next morning, and was told the message was being passed to maintenance again.
My husband and dad spent the next half day scraping the five plus inches of ice off the drive way so we would could get out.
Our issue with this management company was they had a week to make the property safely accessible and they failed to do so. They also did not help when we reached out multiple times.
Do not rent this property in the winter unless you have snow chains and you donât mind if this management company doesnât follow through with requests.
The house was nice and quiet but it really needs some updates. You can feel the coils in the mattresses and the pots are on their last legs. Other than that the house was spacious and cozy. Would come back for sure.
We called with a maintenance problem but we never received a return call. This was surprising and disappointing because our customer service person had been very friendly and responsive.
We had 4 couples stay and no one had to flip for the Master because every room had its own bathroom. Everyone had total privacy in their rooms and enough space to hangout in the common areas that no one is on top of each other. Definitely booking again this summer
This house is rustic and could use some upgrades as well as a better stocked kitchen the pots and pans were on their last legs and with covid we do most of our cooking . The house cleaners did a poor job and the driveway was left a big mess with water bottles and trash and a long kitchen light bulb in a bucket. As well as shovels , racks and leaves on the outside of the house strewn about.. Not what u want to drive up to. There was a block of cheese left in the cupboard downstairs a half used cigar on the porch and a pair of socks in the grill. Plus a chip bag and water bottles inside. The towels I knew from previous reviews would be 1 per person I was fine with that but 2 of ours teens had barely 1 towel each it was the size of a baby towel at best and they were mix matched one brown one white no hand towels or wash clothes. Ridiculous! The pluses are the fire place and wood delivery to the door and the size of the house was fantastic and the view and location . We might stay here again if things were more tidy and more complete set of towels per person. Plus some much needed upgrades in the kitchen . We have rented all over NC and this I must say needs some attention to get repeat business.
The house is in a great location with a perfect view of Grandfather mountain. My family of 10 shared the cabin, 8 of us with a bedroom and 2 slept on the downstairs couch. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We appreciated having 2 kitchens to prepare food in. The cabin seems to be a work in progress, it has very good potential, but itâs not quite there yet. You can tell work is currently being done. We did have a great time, but if you decide to rent the cabin, donât expect too much other than the basics. We found the cabin- more importantly the bathrooms clean, but other areas were lacking. I highly recommend bringing your own towels(the towels provided need an upgrade), more trash bags and paper towels(as this is encouraged thru management). I have already sent in suggestions to management that would make the cabin more comfortable. Overall, once the cabin is completed, I think it will be a great property!
We enjoyed the house. Basement was great for kids. There was a moisture issue in basement, but management office quickly resolved. Floors are laminate (I believe) and lifting in some areas.
The stay was great over-all and I would recommend it to anyone. Mostly clean, but there were quite a few spider webs to deal with (however, my granddaughter enjoyed taking a broom to them all). The ceiling fans were a bit loud in each room, but that's hardly a complaint. Regarding the "accuracy', with the view being obstructed by leaves, we couldn't see Grandfather Mountain per the pics, but again, understandable. Over-all, very enjoyable and we talked about renting again at a future date.
