In 2005 I have created my own small business (galiahomes) renting out other people houses and always wanted to have my own project. Loving the French countryside, nature, food and wine I set off looking for a house to renovate. For weeks I was driving along my favourite Dordogne area and liked many places. However some of them I found too touristy, others too quiet. One sunny day I ended up in the square of one of one of the most picturesque bastides of the Dordogne region Beaumont-du-Perigord. It was love at first sight. Having my coffee in the square surrounded by the original medieval buildings above stone arcaded passages and watching the sun-rays with a myriad of sparkles reflecting from the 800 old town walls, listening to the bell of the St. Front Church, I felt like I wanted to stay there forever. A few months later I’ve bought a 100 years old townhouse. The house was in a good shape but badly designed, grim and neglected. I wanted to put my own stamp and to create a house I envisioned: comfortable, well equipped but with a french countryside character. I am inviting you enjoy staying in my lovely house which is finished to the high standards.
