à propos de cet hébergement
Ard Na Coille 4 bedroom house
This is an elegant, spacious and very comfortable property in its own substantial grounds, a very peaceful place just off the Wild Atlantic Way in the truly beautiful Caragh Lake area. It is surrounded by mature trees and has a large deck on the lake side of the house where you can catch a view of the lake and the mountains through the gaps in the trees. It has a stream running through the garden, itâs lovely to hear the sound of the water as it makes its way to the lake.
Overview
Caragh Lake is at the centre of the Kerry âReeks Districtâ, an area of outstanding beauty with the highest mountain in Ireland, Carrantuohil, and the majestic Macgillycuddy Reeks mountain range. The perfect place to experience the beauty of the outdoors with climbing, hill walking, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, cycling and surfing on your doorstep
This is a great base to enjoy the area from. In the summer you can eat al fresco on its large deck or just relax in the peace and sunshine, in the winter itâs very cosy, you can light the fire and snuggle into the couches. With its very large living room and a dining table that was just made for getting together itâs perfect for entertaining your group and other friends.
Enjoy the drive around the lake which is surrounded by the McGillycuddy Reeks, including the highest mountain in Ireland, Carrauntoohil, making for dramatic views all around..
The cute village of Glenbeigh is twelve minutes drive away, it has the fantastic Emilieâs, a bakery with great bread and cakes and a restaurant that has the most delicious sourdough pizzas as well as lots of other great food. Glenbeigh also has a lively pub and two hotels that are great for eating and drinking. There is also a shop for all your groceries and a great butcherâs counter.
There are also exceptionally good restaurants in Killorglin, which is a ten minute drive, including the new Kingdom 1795 which is on its way to Michelin recognition and the cosy Bianconi. Killorglin also has a great fresh fish shop and delicatessen with local artisan foods
This is a fantastic location to tour the breathtaking scenery of the Ring of Kerry route around the Iveragh Peninsula, or head over to the Dingle peninsula and take the Slea Head drive. If you want to get active try the big 5 guided adventures of the Reeks district, climb Irelandâs highest mountain, kayak the length of Caragh Lake, Surf Inch Beach, cycle the Ring of the Reeks or stand up paddle board on Cloon Lake.
For larger family gatherings we have two fabulous six bed houses very close by on the lake, The Hollies and Caragh Lake House.
