Dear John and family, We are very understanding of the situation. We do our best to make sure that our guests are always comfortable and have the best vacation possible. We are sorry that you’ve left not completely satisfied, regardless of our efforts to accommodate your requests. By sharing our houses with our guests we give them the chance to live the authentic Italian experience while providing them with all the necessary to feel at home. This is why, for example, the Villa has more than one type of coffee machine (the classic Moka, an American machine, a boiler, etc). The traditional Moka is slower than the American one. It’s just the way it is, this is how the coffee is made in Italy, this is the experience you have to be open to. But, if the traditional Moka doesn’t make you happy, there are others coffee machine in the Villa for your use. We simply can’t make the traditional Moka boil quicker. This is one example, but the same could be said for the beds, refrigerators, laundry, dryer, etc…. There are plenty of options for different amenities in the Villa and everyone is welcome to use what’s best for them. For what concerns the weather, you must understand that Tuscany can be warm in the summer during the day. On the other hand, the temperature drops to approx. 66 F (20 Celsius) at night, even during the hottest week of the season. This is one reason why AC in Italy has never become as widespread as it is in other Countries. We ask all our guests to read the description of the house that clearly states that the AC is available only in the Dependance, on top of pointing it out in our emails. But, as you mentioned, we made all the possible efforts to make you more at ease, e.g. providing extra fans, arranging the Depandance last minute at a discounted rate. Lastly, it’s always helpful to remind that every tourist facility must pay a tourist tax per every guest for every day of staying. Making the exception of coming every day to collect the taxes, instead of collecting it all at once at check-in as we usually do, was just another way of showing our understanding of your situation.
