Romantic 1 bed with private patio overlooking orange grove
A truly romantic property set within a 400-year-old village house. The property is accessed via a large communal entrada with its own private entrance leading into the cosy double bedroom with shower room. From here you find a bright, characterful living room/kitchen/diner which in turn opens onto a beautiful patio garden overlooking an orange grove. In the entrada guests can make use of the library. The bedroom is nice and cool in summer and warm in winter and has the unusual feature of an original trough. The kitchen is equipped with oven, 4 ring gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, flat screen TV and DVD player and 2 seater sofa, writing desk, dining table & 2 chairs. WIFI is available. There is oil fired central heating for the colder months and air-con for the hotter months. Outside there is a table and 2 chairs and 2 relaxing chairs plus a BBQ. All bedding, towels and cutlery/plates etc. are provided. Touristic no.ETV/11057
Pretty apartment, very quirky. Great location for walking/cycling. Plenty of nice restaurants in the village. One small problem at the apartment was the shower curtain, every time you tried to wash it would cling to you..not ideal, but very minor. Overall, would definitely go back to the area and apartment. Lovely break.
It was a very pretty apartment and a beautiful village...
But a bit spoilt by the noise from the upstairs apartment .. Very noisy could hear everything..
Our stay in Neil and Julieâs property was very good. It is centrally located in the very cute town of fornalutx. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed.
The place did feel a little darker and more like first floor level than the photos depicted. Since itâs on the lower level of an old house, it does feel a little bit damp. Ceilings are very low in many parts of the unit, and we were two average height women. We struggled a bit with the smaller washroom, especially the shower⊠it was very tight. I would say in general the accommodation itself does not rival a hotel.
However, what made it worth it was the true hospitality of the host. Neil and Julie go above and beyond and really care about their guests. This is what made it a stand out experience for us above all else.
Beautiful old Finca in a quiet corner of the village.
Tastefully decorated and with some original features and a beautiful little courtyard garden overlooking the orange grove, the property is ideal for two people.
Neil the kind owner of this property was there with friendly advice for our stay in the beautiful village of Fornalutx which was surrounded by orange and lemon groves and where the air smelled constantly of orange blossom. A thoughtful welcome pack was also appreciated.
Situated in a quiet corner of the village but within minutes walking distance to all the village has to offer.
Lovely apartment in a beautiful old building. It was well equipped and in a lovely quiet street in Fornalutx. I didn't spend much time in it as I was visiting relatives so just using it to sleep. On ground floor with orange trees around the patio but there is no view. Only down side was what sounded like a water heater or some sort of motor which started up for about 30 seconds every couple of minutes. OK during the day I would imagine but it kept me awake during the night. Luckily I brought earplugs which blocked out some of the noise. Apart from that it was very nice
Julie and Neil's home was charming and exactly as pictured. They were very accommodating with our arrival time and helped us locate the property and parking. I appreciated that the house included complimentary champagne, snacks and some beach towels for our use. The house was clean, and I really enjoyed the patio area. It was a very easy walk to the restaurants, supermarket and main plaza in Fornalutx. We even did an easy hike to Soller for dinner one evening. Very happy with our stay here!
We found driving and parking in Fornalutx to be a little bit stressful, but that was true of all of the small villages on the island. Fornalutx has a reputation for being the most beautiful village in the area but it also has the fewest bakeries, restaurants, businesses, etc so consider that when deciding on where to stay.
Wonderful property were the main thing to remember is the design of the rooms. Perfection and excellent taste. This was the main reason why I chose this place even I was not able to read previous reviews that are always important. Even the white bed linen was corresponding to the style of the house.
We felt there were welcomed. I had a feeling that owners have left the place for vacation. There was everything what you need being at home. Even the very basic things - coffee, milk, oil etc. The owner supplied us with fresh oranges - exactly enough to make two glasses of juice.
The property has a small inner garden terrace but we did not have time to enjoy it because the sun comes there from lunch time. It was too cold in the morning to drink a coffee there.
There are also few things that should be considered before choosing this place. If you are not bothered by the noises and have a deep sleep, you can skip this review part :). As the property for rent is located under the owners flat, you can hear many noises. Particularly walking or flushing the toilet that comes as a waterfall sound in the morning. Also water boiler in the toilet is quite loud. You will definitely hear when somebody wakes up in the morning upstairs. The nice looking but ticking clock in the bedroom was a little unusual sound for me.
The second and very important thing is the height of the ceiling. If you are tall, I am afraid this will not be a place for you. I was OK with my 1.70 meters but my husband who is 1.83 could not get used to the low door aisles and hit the head several times. Even the signs are located everywhere, it is a matter of getting used to this situation. When I was drying my hair, the dryer above my head touched the ceiling. Well, there is also a bonus of the low ceiling - it adds cosines to the flat.
We had to pay for a hotel because the stink of damp was obnoxious. The bed smelled and the owner âcouldnât smell anythingâ which was infuriating, he wouldnât refund and was just plain lying. We both smelled it as soon as we entered and my partner has post-covid smell issues - so no matter what he writes as a response, imagine losing every penny for a smell that I was apparently dreaming up! Damp is fungal, itâs not a âminor issueâ as VRBO told me. So no satisfaction, no rights it seems! Donât book here.
Beautiful apartment in a beautiful part of Mallorca. Perfect base for exploring the natural side of Mallorca. With easy access to Soller town, port, airport etc. Local transport easy ton use and on her doorstep! We loved catching the local TIB down to Soller and the port/beach!
This is our third visit to the area, certainly wonât be our last!
The apartment was charming and had everything we needed. The location is superb, central to everything in Fornalutx.
Neil and Julie couldn't have been more helpful.
Exactly the same as description.
A lot of kind attentions left by the owners. Decoration is superbe : cute, authentic - congrats !
Perfect for 2 - confortable bed, sunny terrace, very well equipped (everything you need if you want o eat at your place). Big enough. Calm street but only 1mins from center place.
Lovely village .easy to park to close parking
Host are really easy to communicate with. A lot of Personal touch that made this type of places really appreciated compared to hotels.
A perfect place ! Will come back for sure
Nice small two rooms + bathroom and a cute terrasse in a picturesque village. Parking could be a little tricky, but owner was very helpful and resourceful to accommodate us.
We had a lovely stay in the apartment in Fornalutx. It seemed smaller and older than in the photographs. Shower cabinet rather cramped (and we are small people.). However on the whole the house was well appointed and we appreciated the lounge beds on the patio at the end of a dayâs walking in the mountains. There was a very generous welcome package and helpful information pack as well as walking books and maps of the area.
Wonderful accommodation and very relaxing location
We cannot fault this property or the hosts. This accommodation, which is in a very quiet location, is beautifully presented, very clean, well equipped and accurately described on the website. We were met by the owners when we arrived who assisted with our cases and parking, if parking is not available outside the property then the free town car parks are literally only a few minutes walk away. The owners have an excellent knowledge of both the local area and Mallorca and the directions they had sent us for getting to the property from Palma airport were easy to follow. There was a bottle of wine, tea, coffee, butter, milk and enough oranges for fresh juice for the morning waiting for us on arrival. There are a couple of shops in the village and we could not find fault with any of the restaurants or bars in the village. It was wonderful to walk to the shop in the morning for fresh baguettes and locally grown oranges for freshly squeezed juice for breakfast. We plan to return and would whole heartedly recommend this property and Fornalutx to anybody. I am 1.83m tall and did not have any issue with door heights other than having to duck and there was plenty of room for the two of us. Perfect accommodation and a stunning location for a totally relaxing break thoroughly recommended.
Absolut empfehlenswert.
