Rural hideaway but only 5 minutes from the centre of Cheltenham
The Old Dairy is a beautifully converted cowshed and dairy on our family farm on the outskirts of Cheltenham. It overlooks the town with wonderful views and sunsets over the Malvern Hills. The accommodation is quiet and peaceful and the nearest neighbours are our alpacas and pygmy goats. Our guests are welcome to walk in our 80 acres of hillside and enjoy the scenery, wildlife and wonderful views. A real retreat and yet only 5 minutes or so to the centre of Cheltenham - the heart of the Cotswolds.
A wonderful tranquil place which provided us with a lovely base from which to explore the Cotswolds, Bath and Oxford. Our hosts were very welcoming and our home for the stay was a beautifully reconstructed and tastefully decorated dairy. The place was very homely with all manner of farm animals watching us as curiously as we watched them. We would love to return one day!
The property was fitted to a very high standard, lovely touches such as the welcome pack & fresh eggs. Very welcoming host.We enjoyed sitting outside watching the animals and enjoying the peaceful setting. Easy walk into Cheltenham- shame we didnât have longer to explore the beautiful area.
The property was clean, tidy and had everything you needed for a short stay, including a few home cooked treats. The hosts were friendly and helpfulThe location was great for visiting the surrounding Cotswold area and the view from the property was beautifulThe only down side was the onsite male peacocks who started screeching at 4am each morning in the courtyard in front of the barn. This did impact our sleep unfortunately.
Lovely converted dairy, retaining original features but with modern twist. Very clean and tidy and everything you could need for a home away from home break. Loved opening the french doors and looking out over the farm and seeing the animals. Would highly recommend.
This is a beautiful property, just on the outskirts of Cheltenham, minutes from all the amenities but you feel like you are out in the countryside. Gill & Glyn have a wonderful small farm with a menagerie of livestock. It was the perfect 4-day rest for us between exploring the big cities.
We found this properly last minute and had no real expectation. What we found when we arrived blew us away. The hosts are fabulous, nothing is too much, the place was so clean and the extras left by Gill were so welcome after the drive in. I would go back in a heartbeat, I cannot recommend it enough. Already planning our next visit!
We were greeted so weâll by our host Gill. She showed us the suite and introduced us to Max the dog and the farm animals that we greeted each morning. Welcome sweets and bubbly along with homemade marmalade went over and above. The building inspection reports that were left in the suite provided quote the amusement for Engineer spouse.
If we can say not news is good news, it was because we had no need to contact the owner the entire time we were there (5 nights).
Our stay at the Old Dairy was wonderful. Quiet location with lovely views. Being around all of the animals on the farm was special. Gill and Glyn were great hosts, very friendly and helpful. Great accommodation which was well thought out. Very clean, great shower, comfy bed. Welcome pack with tea, coffee, eggs etc. Home made ccokies from Lisa was a lovely touch. Only regret, is that we didnât book it for longer. We will be back Josephine & Paul
My parents came to the farm in 1945 when they married. I was born here and lived here most of my life - and with my husband, Glyn, since 1976. Our daughter, Lisa, also brought up here, has now moved into the farmhouse with her 4 children.
The Old Dairy has been converted from the dairy and cowshed which were used up until the late 1960s for milking the cows. We have retained the character of the building whilst creating a spacious, airy space for our guests.
A quiet and peaceful place to stay, alpacas and pygmy goats outside the door, donkeys in the field and ducks and chickens producing your eggs! Plenty space to stretch your legs across the hillside leading to Cleeve Hill.
